Last week we were all left wondering just what was going to be beyond the gate at Alexandria (if you don’t read the comic at least) and now we get to find out! It’s a new episode of The Walking Dead!
We are RIGHT where we left off: the group heading in through the gates. Carl looks at a house outside the gates and sees a girl in the window who then disappears. Hmm, is Carl seeing things now? A loud bang startles the group but it’s just an opossum falling out of a trash can. Daryl shoots it. “Brought dinner,” he tells the dubious-looking guard at the gate.
Aaron shepherds them in. The group watches the gate close behind them like a prison cell. The guard tells them to turn over their gates. “If we were gonna use them, we’d have started already,” says Rick, the new King of Bad Ass. Aaron tells Rick he’s up first to meet Deanna, the leader of Alexandria. A walker approaches and Rick has Sasha coolly put it down as a second security gate closes.
Rick meets with the kind and smart Deanna Monroe, who asks to film the meeting. Rick looks very out of place in the clean, well-appointed living room. Deanna tells Rick that she was a Congresswoman for Ohio. She tells Rick that Alexandria was a planned community, completely self-contained. Power, water, sewage. Deanna’s husband—an architect—was able to scrap a mall construction site to build the walls. The walls were built almost immediately, so Alexandria has been very isolated from the outbreak.
Rick tries to warn her about the dangers outside the wall. He pulls no punches, even alluding that it would stupid to even let his group in. Deanna sees Rick for who he is: someone who wants to protect the community. She doesn’t mind his violence as it was committed in the act of protecting his loved ones. Deanna admits to exiling 3 men, effectively handing them a death sentence.
“I want YOU to help us survive,” says Deanna. “I was a sheriff,” Rick says. “Yeah, I knew it was something like that.”
The group checks their weapons with the supply keeper. Carol hams it up while taking off her assault rifle, like she’s completely uncomfortable with it. Rick shoots her a questioning glance. After that, Aaron shows Rick and Carl the two houses they can pick from and tells them to take their time to look around and check everything out.
Rick and Carl go inside and it’s like bizarro world. Fresh blankets and towels on the table waiting for them. Everything is clean. It’s safe. Rick takes a shower and shaves, finally. He’s practically unrecognizable when a knock comes at the door. He answers the door shirtless (wolf whistle). It’s Jessie, a neighbor and Pete (the surgeon’s) wife. She has food from the pantry. She offers to cut Rick’s hair since she used to be a stylist. We learn that Jessie has two boys, the oldest about Carl’s age. Rick is still in utter disbelief at how normal everything is.
Back to Deanna and her interviews. Daryl’s turn. He’s still carrying the possum around. Pacing. Clearly uncomfortable.
Back on the porch at the house Daryl guts and cleans the possum. Carl heads next door to check on Carol. Carol leaves him and meets Rick and Daryl. “They took our weapons and now they’re splittin’ us up. We’ll all be sleeping in the same house tonight,” Rick says.
Meanwhile, Carl hears footsteps upstairs at Carol’s house. He goes up and pulls his knife. He finds an unfinished room that’s been turned into a de facto clubhouse by the neighborhood kids. He picks up a comic (Invincible you see later. And pretty sure that’s an “Astounding Wolf-Man” ad on the back of it).
That night, everyone’s bunking down in the living room in one of the houses. Carol’s diagramming something. Carl’s reading comics. Michonne basks in the glow of freshly brushed teeth and then admires Rick’s new face (which she’s never seen). She says that she understands their wariness but she has a good feeling. Hm…
Deanna stops by and she’s a little surprised that everyone is staying in the same room, but she approves of how they’re being safe and sticking together. Deanna has given (almost) everyone jobs. She tells Rick that she’s picked his and Michonne’s jobs but hasn’t told them yet. She’s close to picking a job for Sasha, and she’s still trying to figure Daryl out (good luck).
Rick wakes up in the middle of the night and pulls a knife from the kitchen drawer. Clearly uneasy.
We see Michonne telling Deanna in her interview video that the group is ready for this. That Alexandria is what they needed.
The next day Rick asks Daryl if he wants to check the place out. Daryl just wants to hang out on the porch. I love how uncomfortable Daryl is in this world (more on this later).
Rick loses sight of Carl and Judith and panics. He runs down the street, knocks over one of Jessie’s sculptures. She takes Rick to a neighbor’s house. It’s an older couple who had a lot of children and grandchildren who are ecstatic to have a baby around.
At some point we should probably point out that Jessie is a very attractive blond. Who is married.
Jessie again invites Carl over to meet her son, Ron, and Rick goes to get him.
Ron is bringing Carl to his room to meet Mikey and Enid. It turns out Enid was also outside the wall until recently. Carl pulls out the copy of Invincible, folded in half (CARL YOU ANIMAL) and asks if it’s theirs. Mikey says it’s Enid’s. A girl that’s into Invincible?! Carl’s in love.
They ask if Carl wants to play video games, or maybe play pool at Mikey’s house. Carl’s mind is completely blown. He just stares.
Now we see Carl’s interview. He tells Deanna pretty matter-of-factly that he killed his mom. “It had to be me.”
Later, Carl asks Rick what he thinks of the town and says that he thinks the people there are weak, and he’s scared of getting weak also. Wise words.
That night Michonne laments not having a job yet. She wants to fit in and settle down. Rick is glad for it. He’s worried about accepting it. He goes for a walk and runs into Pete, Jessie’s husband. He’s in the shadows, smoking. He doesn’t get up. “Welcome to Alexandria.”
Carol’s interview video. She plays up her status as a housewife and says she misses her husband every day. Says she was den-mother to the group and wants to be part of a community group. What the hell is Carol up to?
Later, we see Carol leaving the house in a smart button-down and cardigan combo, playing her part to the fullest. Daryl’s still sitting on the porch, adjusting his crossbow. She asks Daryl if he’s showered yet, and he lies and says he has. Gross, Daryl.
Glenn’s video. He says they need to make it work. That they were almost out there too long.
Rick heads outside the walls, alone. He goes to the house where he stashed his gun. When he opens the blender, nothing. The gun’s gone. A walker approaches. Carl, who had been following Enid as she snuck over the wall, arrives as three more walkers show up. They tag team the walkers without too much problem, including one that pops out from the garbage heap the blender was in.
Glenn, Noah, and Tara are walking down the street when they run into the gate guard guy and Aidan, Deanna’s son. He says he’s heard that Glenn used to be good at supply runs. Aidan takes them on a test run, nothing big. As they walk through the forest Aidan tells them how they scout in a system of twos, using a flare if they get in trouble. Aidan admits to being a douchebag. Points for honesty I guess.
He tells them that the month previous they lost 4 people when they didn’t follow their system but “we got ours” he says and then takes them to a walker they have strung up. Or used to anyway. It’s managed to get free of its chains. They start whistling and clapping for it, to Glenn’s shock. Instead of killing it they go to chain it up again but struggle with it’s decomposing skin. They end up pushing it onto Tara and Glenn knifes it. Aidan is pissed that he disobeyed his orders.
When they get back Aidan starts berating them and tells them they aren’t ready and need new gigs. Glenn goes, “Pretty sure you got that backwards.” Aidan gets in Glenn’s face. Shoves him. Deanna shows up and asks Aidan what the problem is. “Why’d you let these people in?” Aidan asks. “Because we actually know what we’re doing out there.” Aidan takes a swing at Glenn who ducks it and answers with his own. Guard Guy advances on Glenn but gets tackled by a recently arrived Daryl. Just then Rick and Carl get back and the fight gets broken up.
Deanna addresses everyone. She lets them know that Rick and his people are part of them now. When everyone goes their separate ways, Deanna addresses Rick and his group. She tells Rick that she wants him to be their constable. “That’s what you were. That’s what you are.” And she wants Michonne to be one as well. Rick and Michonne accept. Daryl snorts and walks off.
Deanna thanks Glenn for knocking her son on his ass. I guess she wants/needs her people to toughen up a bit.
Enid gets back and Carl catches her staring. “You don’t like do you,” he asks her. She just walks off.
Over the audio from Rick’s interview about how desperate and dangerous people are now, we see Rick come downstairs in his uniform. Daryl asks him if he’s a cop again. “So we’re staying? … If we get comfortable here, if we let our guard down, this place is gonna make us weak,” Carol says. Rick replies: “We won’t get weak. That’s not in us anymore. We’ll make it work. And if they can’t make it, then we’ll just take this place.”
END
We didn’t see much of Abraham, Eugene, Rosita, Sasha, or Maggie this week. But everyone else’s reaction to Alexandria is pretty interesting. Carol goes undercover. Daryl refuses to adjust. Carl doesn’t know what to make of it. Rick is ready to take over. Michonne wants to adapt. Etc. What do you guys make of everyone’s reaction?
I think Daryl’s is the most interesting. Here’s a guy who never fit in until the apocalypse (where he thrived) and now he’s thrust into what he must see as suburban hell. His best friend is even a cop. He pretty much turns into a sulking teen. What’s going to happen to him?
What’s Enid’s deal? What’s she doing on the other side of that wall?
For those people we didn’t see much of this week (Abraham, Eugene, etc) how do you think each of them will react to life behind the walls?
Plop yer comment below! We want to hear what you thought!
I really like the episode. Really cool to see Rick shaven again. Loving how they are adapting, wish we had gotten the story from Diana about the father removing his sons eye though.
I think everyone is having a hard time fitting in, some more than others. Daryl for one, doesn’t seem to like being there. My prediction is that he does something rash that gets himself exiled. And he stumbles upon the saviors in his travels. The character “Dwight” in the comics will instead be Daryl. They both carry the bow and wear the leather biker jacket. I think it would be incredible if the writers played up that angle.
It was a good episode overall.
This was my theory as well, well maybe not being exiled (but that’s totally possible!) but I thought that maybe Negan gets some sort of angle on Daryl which forces him to work alongside him but then eventually in All Out War he turns on Negan and helps Rick. Side note: Daryl would look awesome with half his face melted. My other theory is that Daryl will die in the issue #100 fashion but I’m hoping for the Daryl/Dwight situation!
Loved this! Love the monroe last name being tossed around, i love this ranfom little girl badass, totally diggin everything except ricks beards tragic end, cant wait for things to get out of hand and i love how ricks “just going to take it” if things dont pan out, yessir i am amped up for whats to come
This episode was great and has me excited for what’s to come on The Walking Dead, waiting for season 6 will probably be the hardest wait yet! I’m thinking that the young girl who came into ASZ not too long before Rick’s group will adapt into the Sophia character from the comics. I’m also hoping that we will get a new major female character who can take the place of comic book Andrea or maybe that Jessie turns out to be a total badass and escapes her comic book fate.
Sasha is TV Andrea. She’s a great shot and will become the lookout on the next episode. Also the Bob death was similar to the comic Dale death.
O…….M……….G……… WHO LOVED THIS EPISODE MUCH AS ME. C’mon raise your hand
Hand raised!
One of the best episode this season. Both hands raised!
OMG Darryl needs a shower bad, I don’t care of he doesn’t wanna adpapt, he @ least needs to get clean
Love all the comments so far. Great theories this was a awesome episode. Anybody who doesn’t agree need not comment on this post
Tears shed for the loss of The Beard.
Carol shoulda kept her old swag… that new stuff on her is about as bad as Daryl’s ‘possum… ECK!
I KNEW Daryl didn’t clean up! The exchange between Daryl & Carol was awesome! It felt great to have a little laugh!
Tara’s walker peel = instant thought of comic.
Father Gabriel… did he get left behind somewhere?
Loved this ep! Loved the unpredictable!
Gabriel made a slight appearance in the very begging walking through the gates, although he was hard to see. Seth Gilliam said that Gabriel felt fairly detached from the group, he prolly scurried off into a dark corner.
The only thing that could help me cope with the loss of the beard—a steamy shower scene.
COMPLETELY forgot about the beard! They did that for us!
I love Carol in this episode #SHOUTSOUTTALKINGDEAD
Carol is abolutely proving herself to be the MVP of the family. Love how powerful she has become.
Also, Daryl likes his Carol dirrrrty.
Talking Dead sneak peek… Sasha = comic Andrea! Yep!
That’s where I hope they are going. I don’t think she will hook up with Rick though. That’s Michonne’s job 😉
I was thinking the exact same thing! Sasha = comic Andrea! Rick glanced over at the watchtower in last night’s episode, so soon we will hopefully have Sasha’s job be the sniper/lookout like Andrea was in the comics. That’d be awesome.
I didn’t even notice the girl hiding in the building in the very first scene, she must’ve been the one that took Rick’s gun she is the only one who could’ve seen him do it and I agree with BASTET, after that scene I see Sasha as comic Andrea although I don’t see her and Rick becoming a couple down the road
Enid? I didn’t see her. Na, I don’t think Sasha will end up with Rick, either. I don’t see him with any of the crew who’s been with him…just someone new, like Jessie.
If that’s her name then yes lol but in like the first two minutes of the episode she is standing in the window and Carl looks back at her I only noticed it in my second watch and yeah I totally see him with Jessie I’m just hoping it’s not as short-lived as in the comics.
I would agree with you on her being in possession of the gun. And I am going to go off on a wild theory and say she is likely going to use it against someone in the community that hasn’t been as friendly to her as others? Which might lead to an interesting… ‘what are we to do with her?’ moment for Rick and the Governess. (did she say she was a Governor before…? Did nobody pick up on that association and the Governor and both running their own little towns?)
Deana was a congresswoman not a Governor, I like the connection that you tried to make but I really don’t think that Deana or Alexandria will have any secrets or be bad in any way unless they totally deviate from the comics which I do not see them doing in this specific situation.
I don’t read the comics so wouldn’t know how they would relate to the TV series? I do think the rest of the season is going to be boring if Alexandria has no bad apples to keep things interesting?
Trust me there are plenty of ways that they will be keeping things interesting lol, The Walking Dead is heading in a whole new direction
Is Deanna Monroe related to Paul “Jesus” Monroe? Also, if Daryl becomes Dwight then how will shooting Abraham be spun in the show? These are some of the things I am wondering at this point. Anyone else?
I’m hoping that Abraham lives! lol That scene in the comic killed me because it was absolutely out of nowhere and he was one of my favorite characters but they could totally do that to someone else or just not have it at all?
Maybe Darryl becomes Dwight from the comics and shoots Abraham through the eye on the TV show. Er, a total stretch probably…
BETTER HIM THAN CARL!
Never thought of that. Douglass had that name too, but it was never clear. You’d have thought spencer would have said something because he lived a lot longer than his parents, but I dunno if he ever made contact with Jesus in the comic. And Deanna did say she had two kids, perhaps Jesus/Hilltop is already working with alexandria
No they are not related. Kirkman just gives some characters the same first or last name because he thinks its unrealistic that no one they come across has the same first or last name.
This was Douglas Monroe in the comic and there is no relation. Kirkman recycles names. There were multiple Doc Stevens too.
Maybe less comic spoilers for those of us not reading the comics in hope of keeping a little bit of surprise into our viewing? (lucky we at least have a slightly different version as it is which is keeping the comic clan from completely ruining our viewing.)
Who was that girl that carl saw in the beginning that was following them? And who took Rick’s Gun? It seems like the wolves are not far.
And I thought Rick was just a deputy, the not sheriff…
Too bad about Jessie 🙁 She’s a cutie
Carol fucking cracked me up. Den mother, who fucking devours anything that threatens her pack.
At the end it was nice to see some classic optimistic words of wisdom from Rick “We’ll make it work. If they can’t make it, then we’ll just take this place.”
Yea den mother my ass, shes the smartest person in the whole group for playing a role, they dont need to know how dangerous she is at all
I’m pretty sure that Carl saw Enid in the beginning. Maybe she took the gun out of the blender, since she saw Rick’s group arriving earlier.
This…
Newb here…lol. First off, I loved the episode!! The character Carol’s playing is hysterical yet brilliant!! She’s the team’s secret weapon for whatever is coming…and we know SOMETHING is coming! Now I have a question…I totally missed what the Easter egg was this episode!! Someone help? lol
@tari Hardwick said on Twitter that the Easter egg was in Euyln Womble’s piece about Ricks uniform–the part about rising again.
Thanks!! I saw that on Talking Dead, but I didn’t know that was the Easter egg. I think the motto of “we will rise again” is extremely fitting for this group!! Can’t wait for next week!!! Dead-on Dead heads!!!
Awesome!!!! I have to rewatch. Did Deanna say she had sons (plural)? Does Aidan = Spencer or is there an even bigger idiot waiting to be shown. I loved everything about this episode and I hate to parrot everyone else but…. CAROL! Awesome.
Was heartened when Rick told Carol and Daryl, “If they can’t make it, then we’ll just take this place.”
Yes… that line cemented the entire episode… without it then we would have been thinking… what a load of putzes for falling for the old ‘join u, be us’ crap.
Good show tonight. Enjoyed it. Looking forward to next Sunday. It only gets better.

Okay why did they show Jessie’s husband (Pete) and then show Rick waking up on the floor? I’m pretty sure that Rick wasn’t dreaming that encounter, so why did they use such an awkward transition?
I think its just to show that this guys already waaaay over protective and im pretty sure hes already made up his mind that ricks group is bad news, which is dumb
I am not sold on the Douglas replacement yet but I had a nerdgasm when Officer Rick came down the steps… hmmm, that sounded better in my head…
Damn! This was a great episode! I already miss Rick’s beard though. I liked how Carol played all nice and sweet but we all know that she’s a cold hearted killer who will stop at nothing to keep her and the one’s she loves alive.
“We brought dinner.” Lol, Mr. Dixon you sure have a way with words.
Did anybody else hate Deanna’s son right off the bat? It was awesome to see Glenn pop him a good one then to see Daryl tackle that other guy, like a beast!
Also: WHY NO DOUGLAS? I dont care for that decision but oh well.
He reminded me of that asshole driving The Governor’s tank.
Yea i am not a fan of that kid, and when he took a swing at glenn i laughed, it was pretty blatant that he was gonna throw a punch and when glenn countered it was like ” uh, hi, glenns not gonna let you hit him”
Carol!!! extremelly intelligent woman!!!! shy and useless housewife! hahahaha loving her character! and what about that strange girl? why did she take Rick’s gun? (because I assume it was her!) wonderful episode! Can’t wait for the panel to screen post!!!
Here is my theory on how this plays out:
Rick is the new Constable (Sheriff) and Michonne the deputy, so they will be involved with all things security
Glen, Noah, and Tara will be the new scavengers, and will also teach the near Lieutenant how to do things the right way
Carol is the mole.
Maggie will also be similar to Carol, but will most likely be part of the governing body
Sasha (not sure about this one… assassin for Alexandria?)
Abraham will be the tactical and military consult, be involved with training and weapons
Essentially, the group is being brought in to provide a paramilitary edge. Fighters and survivors. There is a threat to Alexandria from outside the gates. Our group has now provided a HUGE tactical advantage for them.
Just my 2 cents.
Let’s see…
I’m Loving the Deanna Monroe thing. I like “Douglas” as a Woman. The actress reminds me of Kate Mulgrew, who used to be Kathryn Janeway on ST Voyager. Wonder if she was approached for the role, she’d have been great, and VERY loved, after all, she’s not the first former Trek regular (Denise Crosby from Terminus) to be in TWD.
Now as for Darryl, I would love to see him be “Dwight”, but ONLY if Rick has sent him undercover AFTER Negan is introduced. Make it look like Rick “exiled” him, and he goes in. Maybe his face could get burned when Negan discovers this is why he’s there. NO WAY do I want to see Darryl leave and join up on his own, against Rick. Been there, Done that with Shane. NOT plausible.
The little girl, those of you comic followers, may be the “new” Sophia. As you all know she’s very alive and active in the Comics, and very very close to Carl. I’m thinking Maggie and Glen will adopt her, or she’ll continue on her own, and become what Sophia is, in the current CB storyline. OR… They just introduced a new character, maybe she was with “The Whisperers” or whatever they call themselves, and she’s going outside to meet with THEM. That girl they just captured is ways off, but who knows? Possible. More likely the “new” Sophia though, I thought it as soon as I saw her and Carl interact.
We know Rick is going to hook up with that lady who cut his hair, and that he will kill her husband or some other violent male character, maybe even Deanna’s son.
I’m curious to see how it all plays out. They have been being Comic true a lot here lately. Let’s hope it stays that way, but with twists like Deanna Monroe instead of Douglas.
All in all, I’m diggin it. 🙂 Can’t wait for NEGAN though… I know they have to do the “takeover” first. Rick WILL do as he’s said, he always does.
What if…
…one or more of the 3 people that Deanna mentioned who were exiled has ties to Enid & she brings trouble to ASZ?
!!!!!!!! Ooh i hope so, shes a little wildcard, like a “wolf” in sheeps clothing if you will
That’s what i was thinking
I am almost sorry that I follow the comics, but happy that the television show seems to mix it up a bit and not follow the storyline verbatim. The television show will always be my first love and first choice. I laughed out loud with the Carol and Daryl exchanges. Carol strutting in the blue cardigan sweater brings a smile to my face every time I think of it. I hope that the show continues to take its own direction in veering away from the comic as both are excellent and each deserving of their own tale. I still would love to see Patrick Warburton as Negan though 🙂
I thought the Easter Egg was the Invincible comic but I didn’t catch it on Talking Dead.
I thought it was a very good episode: Not sure how I feel about the “new” Rick.. although I understand it. Same thing with Carol.. I think she is just playing the weak sheep until it is necessary not to. Flying under the radar if you will. It was kind of nice to see all the amenities in the houses.. running water, clean things that they haven’t seen in a LONG while. Not sure how all this will turn out, but I am glad to hear that Rick has a plan, if it doesn’t.
I’m so glad the beard is gone now. It looked good for awhile but around the end… It was just no. Comic Rick grows a straight beard. Lincoln’s beard comes in scruffy and curly, though. If that thing would have kept growing Rick wouldn’t even have a beard– he’d just have a giant puffball on his chin.
I’m ok with that. Scruffy puffball forever!!
Great episode! I’m still convinced that this will all play out very similar to the events in the comics, but I like that they’re mixing it up a bit.
A few things:
1) Darryl is going to have an incredibly hard time adjusting to this community. He has never been “domesticated”, and I doubt he’s excited about the prospect of a suburban utopia as his skills don’t really apply well here. That, coupled with his general distrust of everyone that isn’t ‘family’ is going to lead to a lot of tension. Rick will likely have to decide if he’s going to sacrifice the groups security to keep Darryl, or exile Darryl to save the rest of the group.
2) Running water, electricity, granite countertops?!?! Awesome setting for our feral beasts!
3) Deanna clearly has enemies already, or she wouldn’t be risking her communities security by letting in Rick’s group. She’s desperate, and is hoping to indoctrinate the group before they find out who the antagonist (!!!!) shows up again. I don’t think she’s a villain, but she’s definitely sizing up the group to see what she can gain from them (something Rick alluded to), and seems to think they are the answer.
4) I really hope that Jessie ends up being an Andrea substitute and not just a rehash of her role from the comics. Rick deserves to have a love life, and if Jessie can handle a weapon, we’ll be in business.
What I’d really like to see is Rick and Michonne become a couple, although I kind of doubt the writers would have an interracial couple on the show. She has grown really close to Carl and is kind of like a Mom figure to him. I thought Rick and Michonne could have kissed during last night’s episode when they were both up in the middle of the night in that one scene. Anyone else seeing this happening between Rick and Michonne, or is it just me??
why not? what about Karen and Tyreese?
Glenn & Maggie?
I don’t see why the writers would shy away from Rick and Michonne as a couple. Personally, I’m always rooting for it!
Team Richonne
Because they have zero attraction for each other.
Whoops, I meant in my above comment about a black and white interracial relationship. Of course we have Glenn and Maggie and Karen and Tyreese (past tense).
as a big fan of the comics I hope they don’t follow things to close. I love how they mix things up. still waiting for Morgan’s return. maybe he was one of the exiled characters. he could even be the Dwight character who switches side when he discovers Rick is in Alexandria. well maybe not lol. still love how they keep me guessing.
Did anyone else even notice that Gabriel basically disappeared from the episode after the first 10 minutes? He was in the group when Aaron showed them the house, but in all of the shots in side the house when they were sleeping, and even heading out to explore, no Gabe. You even missed him in your list of people who weren’t focused on this episode…
Yeah, Gabriel has been a wallflower the last two episodes. I imagine he will have a place in the community as people settle, though. I bet he’ll be more visible next episode.
Seeing Rick in uniform again was a fucking fantastic moment, but even better than that will be if they have a uniform ready for Michonne next week.
What the heck did Daryl say during his interview?
Something like “The boy and the baby, they deserve a roof I guess.”
Can somebody clear this up? Cuz it was an interesting statement that seems like Daryl thinks that none of them belong in that place. Like the crew is all on the same level as Daryl, as people not fit for civilization. But I dunno…
I too think it was Enid that Carl saw in the house briefly when they first arrived. I think Enid is a spy for the Wolves planted there. I think that was who she was sneaking out to see when she went over the fence. The comic was a nod to that perhaps?
Totally agree!!! I took screen shots of both enid and the comic on my blog if you want to see them ( diggingdeepersymbols.blogspot.com )
I thought the skin coming off the walkers was a foreshadowing of the Whisperers. We have a ways before we get to that though. Whisperers =W= Wolves?
I think the show was great this week. It was a lot like the comic in a lot of ways. I dont have a problem with that, thats how Kirkman originally wrote it.
are ricks group the pack of wolves? rick=alpha male michonne=alpha female daryl=lone wolf carol=den mother carl=wolf cub?? just a thought
“The guard tells them to turn over their gates” ???
Obviously Daryl has divorced himself from is comic role. As he would be dead by now… (thank you Bob for your sacrifice). So we can see him taking on portions of other roles in the comics but still be his own character. I don’t see him dying any time soon nor imagining e will get a melted face. (sorry but the ladies would rise up… don’t piss off your viewers)
I see that Rick needs to be reviewing the ‘tapes’ himself so he can see what he is getting himself into. They likely have an insight into everyone in the town. Possibly Carol will get her hands on them in coming episodes if he is some how denied access?
Doctor… ‘I will just sit here and be an ass instead of getting up and greeting you properly’ will likely have a strong aversion to Rick and I am guessing his wife might be looking for more attention then what she gets from the guy that sits alone on a porch mauling over his sad life? She could possibly do this more often then not…? Free willed artist and all?
Yes Carol is playing her hand like she is holding nothing. But will the poker player see through that ploy? She also appears to be mapping out the area… so she is most definitely looking at making sure her hand is the best hand in play before the final bets are placed.
Looks to be interesting end to a season coming up?
Wait… the comic guy is Dale not Daryl? That is what I get for not paying attention to what is being said?ha Guess Daryl is a completely new character for TV.
Did anyone else notice the comic that Carl picked up? Wolf Fight! Wolves not far??? Hmmm… I just put up another blog about the episode, check it out: diggingdeepersymbols.blogspot.com
Andrea(comic) gets spilt into two people.
1. Sasha becomes the lookout
2. Jessie’s husband already doesn’t like Rick. So I think he(Jesse’s Husband) hits on one of the ladies or hurts Jesse. Rick comes to he rescue. Leaving Jesse a widow and allowing the romance to begin with Rick.
PERHAPS HE MAKES A MOVE ON CAROL……AS SHE WAS FROM AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP, WHICH LEAVES A FIGHT WITH RICK AND PETE?
Carol is not the same abused timid woman that couldn’t defend herself as she was before. She would destroy Peter.
I’m wondering two things. 1: Why do they not want a lookout 24/7? Makes me think they have something they want kept hidden or not want seen and 2: what’s up with the red A’s stamped on their hands? Could it be cult like?
On another note, Rick, Carol and Sasha are losing their minds!!! Carol has now introduced her twisted side to us. We all know how she feels about kids. An invisible twisted “people person” on the loose…not a good idea! Sasha is craving to kill! She’s craving blood and it won’t be to long before she breaks and either kills someone or gets herself killed. And Rick. Rick,to me, has been gone for a while now. He just keeps slipping further down the spiral and he’s looking for love in the wrong place!!! I see in the future a bad fight going down between him and Pete. He should be more focused on the hidden secrets of Alexandria and not a woman.
