Oh man, so last week we left y’all on a bit of a cliffhanger, with a curious, well-dressed, very clean (there’s a reason for this) man named Aaron popping up and introducing himself. So what is Aaron all about? Let’s see if tonight’s episode holds any answers:
Maggie and Sasha bring Aaron into the barn and everyone is understandably alarmed and cautious. Rick checks the gun they took off of him. Sasha tells Rick the deal: Aaron has a community nearby and he wants them to “audition” to come join them. Aaron’s job is to convince them to come back to the community to meet with them and see if they’re a good fit.
To help convince them, Aaron brings photos of the community. There’s a wall, made of slabs of solid steel. As Aaron starts to narrate the next picture, Rick walks up to Aaron and knocks him out cold. Welcome to the group, Aaron!
Michonne suggests that he’s not a bad guy while Rick goes into full-alert, getting everyone rounded up and having them go through all of Aaron’s things. He suggests that they’ll be attacked soon. He ignores Michonne, and he ignores Maggie when she tells him that Aaron could have snuck up on them if he wanted.
Carl finds a flare gun in Aaron’s backpack. When Aaron comes to, he’s completely understanding. Rick presses him on how many people he’s with but Aaron knows that whatever he says Rick won’t believe him. He reveals that he left water for them in the road and that he’s been following them long enough to know that they’re tough and they never turned on each other, even when they were starving and thirsty. He says he’s with just one other person and they’ll drive the entire group back to his community.
Michonne tells Rick that it’s fine that he’s sure of himself, but she’s going to take a chance and try to check out Aaron’s story about having two cars. Maggie sides with Michonne. Rick sends Abraham and Rosita with Michonne, Glenn, and Maggie. Everyone else goes out to keep watch while Rick stays inside with Aaron.
Aaron tells Rick that he used to work for an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) delivering food and medicine to the Niger River Delta. He had guns stuck in his face all the time and he knows that Rick won’t kill him. “Just because we’re good people, doesn’t mean we won’t kill you. If the five of them aren’t back in an hour, I’ll put a knife in the base of your skull.” Rick is a real charmer.
Glenn’s crew is marching down the road. Glenn is super cautious and tells them to shoot on sight if anyone approaches. He says that anyone that would approach an armed group is dangerous and suspect. Michonne says that maybe they’re just like them. Glenn says they should kill anyone that’s just like them. Michonne argues in favor of their group and all the good they’ve done, all the people they’ve saved.
Back in the barn, Judith starts crying so Aaron tries to talk Rick into giving her some apple sauce to quiet her down. Rick, trusting guy that he is, wants Aaron to eat it first. Aaron really, REALLY doesn’t like apple sauce so this is a problem. Like REALLY doesn’t like it. Bro, this bearded dude with a baby will KILL YOU. He eats it. Rick tries some. So I guess it’s ok.
Glenn’s crew finds the car and RV that Aaron had mentioned, so that checks out. They kill a couple walkers and check the cars. All clear.
Regrouped, Rick is still being suspicious of Aaron. Michonne puts a stop to it. “We need this, we’re going.” “This barn smells like horse shit,” says Daryl.
One problem, Aaron won’t just tell them where it is and wants to drive them there. Michonne won’t go that far. Aaron tells them how to get halfway and will then tell them the rest. Rick says they’ll go their own way, which Aaron says is a bad idea. But Rick is being overly cautious. They leave at sundown.
Outside Michonne has a one-on-one with Rick. She asks him how serious he is about trusting Aaron. Rick asks, “When you first came up on the walls outside Woodbury, what did you hear?” “Nothing.” “And Terminus?” “Nothing.”
Rick says he’s going to have to make the call to trust this new community with his family based on nothing but what he’ll be able to hear outside the walls when they arrive.
In the car, Aaron tells them that he’s trying to collect license plates from all 50 states for the wall in his house. “You have your own house?” Michonne sounds impressed. He shows her the pictures. Then she realizes something: there are no pictures of other residents. He explains it away but Michonne is alarmed. Suspenseful music starts playing. “Did you ask him the questions?!” Michonne asks Rick. To be honest, I’m still not sold on these questions. Rick finds Aaron’s long-range listening device and he and Glenn are highly alarmed but just then they drive straight into a herd of walkers.
It seems to me that Glenn didn’t hit the brakes to A) prevent the RV from slamming into the back of them and B) to prevent them from being surrounded.
They emerge on the far side of the herd in the bloodiest car of all time. No sign of the RV, so it must’ve been able to avoid the herd. Glenn wipes an insane amount of guts and blood off the windshield and they try to start the car. No dice. Michonne starts pulling arms and limbs out of the engine when a flare goes up. Aaron starts freaking out and makes a run for it. They follow, knowing that their group will head for the flare as well.
Glenn gets separated from Michonne and Rick and gets tackled by a walker, whose head he bashes open on a rock. He then finds Aaron fighting a walker off with his feet. He kills the walker and cuts Aaron’s binds and says he can leave. Aaron repeats Glenn’s wisdom back to him “We can make it together, but ONLY together.”
Back to Rick and Michonne, looking for Glenn, fighting walkers. Rick runs out of ammo and shoots a flare into a walker’s eye hole. As they’re about to get overrun when Glenn and Aaron show up and mow down the walkers. They head off in search of their group, heading towards a water tower where the flare went off.
The group is there. Aaron starts frantically calling for “Eric.” Eric is inside, laid up with a broken ankle. He clearly has met Maggie and that part of the group. Aaron is hugely relieved. And then they make out. Eric shows him the license plate he found that day.
Rick comes in and just kind of stares, still not sure whom to trust. “Hi, I’m Eric!” “Rick.” Aaron leaves with Rick to address the group. He thanks them for saving Eric and tells them that he’ll repay them when they get to Alexandria. They agree to stay put for the night. When Rick tells Aaron that he has to sleep on the other side of the room, away from Eric he replies “the only way you’re going to stop me from being with him right now is by shooting me.”
Glenn tells Rick that Eric told them where Alexandria is and points out that they’re unarmed and one of them has a broken ankle. Even he has come around. Rick relents.
The next day, they’re on the road. Noah brings painkillers for Aaron’s wrists (pretty bruised and chafed where he was bound). Noah nods at his wrists, “I know how bad those hurt.” Aaron says that their surgeon, Pete, might be able to fix Noah’s leg.
Out the front of the RV you can see the Washington Monument. The low voltage warning is on. “We can make it,” says Abe and then we cut to them broken down on the side of the road. When he starts complaining about how screwed they are, Glenn shows him the extra batteries near the side door. “How’d you know those were there?” Glenn plays it cool.
Michonne is telling Rick that he needs to let his guard down a little bit. He needs to let the fight go. Rick says that Bob tried to tell him that. When it’s safe, when to let someone in. The RV starts up. Rick says he needs a minute.
He heads off to the side of the road, to a house. He finds a heap of trash and stashes a sidearm in an old blender.
They pull up to Alexandria. Rick stares at the gas and you hear people talking, and laughing, and kids playing. Everything you didn’t hear outside Woodbury or Terminus. Michonne reaches over and touches his hand. “You ready?” “Yeah.” Carol stops by Rick, “Even though you were wrong, you were still right.”
Rick whispers to Judith, “Should we go?” and kisses her and they walk toward the gates.
END!
Hey, so it’s Alexandria! Hope and death lie beyond those walls! It’s a new era for The Walking Dead!
What did you guys think? Sound off in the comments!
This episode was awsome!
I loved this episode, this is the start to a truly different show and I’m really interested to see where the show goes on from here and how true it’ll stay to the comics and also how they will eventually handle how they are very quickly catching up to the comics. The last few shots of Rick with Judith approaching the gates of Alexandria were so well done and the zombie kill with the flare gun, definitely in the top 5 kills (walker kills at least)
“Just because we’re good people doesn’t mean we won’t kill you.”
I love that
I broke my total-silence-while-show-is-on rule over that line!
Ours was broken by a bunch of non comic readers having their minds blown when aaron and eric kissed, it was my fav moment eeeevvvveerrrr hahaha
When i saw that secons flare go off i was like “yes…..”
Mine was nearly broken when I choked back sobs at the Dale moment with the RV.
That was a nice touch!
what the phuck! why did you have to ruin this show with this sodomite bullshit!!!!!!!!!!! I’d rather see zombies chopped up but to watch two men mouth kissing is diguisting I will not watch another episode Im done!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good bye and good riddance.
YOU are disgusting. The fandom just improved infinitely by your departure.
Next up, shooting down the shippers, then taking out the Norman nuisances!
hey bastet, what about disqus digests? It’s been a while since I commented here and I had to create a skybound account to do it.. disqus is not working in this site now? thanks in advance!
No, afraid not. They changed the commenting system. I’m thinking it’s to be compatible with the Insider program. We miss it but we’re dealing with it the best we can.
thank you! =) I remember you told me to read the comic books, and I couldn’t get them here in Argentina.. well.. Finally, I could.. and I finished (well, up to 137), and it was a marvellous experience!! =)
Yamila?
yes!!! now I’ve got another nickname.. but I’m the Argentinian one, hahaha =)
Welcome back, sha25! I remember you! Glad you managed to get ahold of the comics!! See, I told ya you’d enjoy them! Now you can chime in on the comic discussions, too! This commenting system cuts us short, but I look forward to “seeing” you back around!
wow man, they’re gay in the comic book, it’s awesome they’re are in the tv series too.
Don’t worry dude, they’re gonna introduce some characters that are just like you really soon. Only thing is, Jesus fucking kills them. I mean the Jesus that acts as savior to our beloved posse on numerous occasions and is a homosexual kung fu and sword master.
Ive got my fingers crossed that *surprise* daryls gay and he becomes jesus in the tv show, i mean hed be more brawl than kung fu but it could work
Fuck dude! Genius! Totally could see that
SACRILEGE!!!
Actually Kirkman confirmed that Daryl is straight. I also really want to see Jesus as an independent character in the show. Not because he is gay or a kung-fu master. I just like his character and I think it’s awesome to have a guy who looks like Jesus with a nickname Jesus in the show. Even if they take away his master-level kung-fu and his sexual orientation, there is still a lot to his character. He’s smart, loyal, brave and I’m looking forward to his role as Rick’s right-hand man. (Daryl HAS to die. (also Abe..))
Damnit! Ok well….maybe…uh…maybe daryl has a falling out playing house at ASZ and becomes dwight? Id be ok with that too, fuck im actually a little upset now that daryls been confirmed straight hahaha
Why are you disappointed? Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against homosexuals, but why does everyone feel the need for a certain character to be gay or for new gay characters?
Im only disappointed because its been my theory for a veeeerrry long time and ive been telling everyone hahaha, a while ago kirkman said in a letter hack that they have a story for daryls sexuality and then said there’d be at least one gay character so i drew lines that werent there, plus i wanted douchebags to be upset when the badass biker turned out to like dudes, but im that kid who tells people im gay or jewish or whatever if theyre talkin shit just to show them whats what
You are awesome, MaximumParty! Do you have a Google account?
Hahaha yea dude its MaximumParty, i use that shit for everything cause its never taken hahaha
But you were OK with it when Tara had a girlfriend, huh? You might want to take a closer look at the things that make you feel uncomfortable and try to learn the real reasons why.
Did Tara and her girlfriend have hairy balls. Anal bleeding and fecal covered penises. Cause I’ve never heard of a lesbian experiencing that. If I imagine Two Women I think of bare breasts and caressing. I’m not saying its morally right. But Unlike two guys. Two women sound very sexy. Guess that’s why they call that lust.
Matt355, man. Did you read the post of mine you replied to? Because it could not possibly apply more perfectly to you.
I find it very amusing that from the small, sweet kiss your mind raced into such graphic imagery of Aaron and Eric. Why do you think it is that you immediately imagine them having sex and then have such a violent reaction to it yourself? I honestly think you need to closer examine your feelings and then deal with them. It’s ok if seeing two men kiss excited you. You don’t have to start beating your chest and shouting hate across the internet for us to all know you are a man, and you like breasts.
Did we see the same show? ” Small sweet kiss ” Lay one on a 5 year old like that and see if they don’t send you off to prison. That was an I can’t wait to bang you kiss. Did you not hear ” The only way your going to keep us apart tonight is to shoot me ” That usually means someone is getting banged. and yes we have all heard the propaganda. ” Seeing two men kiss excite you ” ” But your OK with it when its two girls ” The propaganda says that anyone who dares to disagrees for whatever reason they must be repressed. homophobic. Religious Nut. All of the above or whatever. Enjoy your dogma.
Man, fuck you.
Don’t let the door hit you on the arse on the way out!
Could have done without that display of stomach turning unnatural behavior.
@Diplopia I assume the “stomach turning unnatural behavior” you speak of is the behavior of the sad number of “fans” who are upset by two people who, love each sharing a kiss. It is very unnatural to be so disturbed by a loving a moment.
Except it looked more like an attack than a loving moment.
Except it didn’t.
It usually does. Anal bleeding. fecal covered penis. Google ATM. carlyyougoonie Listens to the crowed. Not the facts.
Such a confusing statement,
.
Good, go away.
I Know right. I literally signed up to respond to this post. Because everybody else is just “oh your close minded” while the show is turning into true blood. Guess that explains why Beth had to die.
What a wonderful episode! When Glenn was fighting off that zombie, I realized afterwards that I had completely held my breath!! Rick’s struggle with whether or not to trust, Michionne’s willingness to trust and yet her wariness in the car when she noticed no people in the pics (which hit me too…straight up looked like pictures of haunted houses), Glenn going between not trusting to giving Alexandria a chance…just wonderful. Carol summed it up best, ‘you were wrong, but you were right’. Ricktatorship is 100% Carol-approved.
Also, I’m glad Rick hid that gun. I have a sinking feeling that we will see him use that in the future – hopefully they get a nice long stay at Alexandria first.
ps: Aaron/Eric relationship was real, warm and adorable.
pps: Andrew Lincoln is amazing- his face goes from worried/frowned to relaxed in 0.1 millisecond when he hears the sound of children coming from inside the gates…
I will not be watching this show ever again! This went way to far with the gay propaganda crap!
Apparently showing a loving same sex couple is “propaganda”. What is with you conservative, Christians, and misusing that term so often? Oh that’s right, massive amounts of projection! Your type are the kings of propaganda, bringing us such gems as Gay Rights Special Rights (google it, its disgusting), An American Carol, and your most recent turd “God’s Not Dead”. Guess what asshole, gay people really exists and really have genuine loving relationships! The show was showing reality, not propaganda. All of you fanatical neo-cons live in a delusional world made solely of propaganda! Have fun living in your bigoted little bubble as the rest of the world keeps progressing into a far more enlightened future. Shows like the Walking Dead are a part of that next step!
I am a conservative and I have no problems with loving same sex couples. If one asshole says dumb shit, STOP stereotyping everyone in a group the same way! You are just as bad.
This story is just too good for that type of drama on these boards.
If you like the story, keep watching, if this offends you, you have a choice: stop watching or keep watching. Keep the vile BS to yourselves.
Rome did a great job progressing into a far more enlightened future.
It Became “propaganda” When it became necessary for every show on television to portray it weather it fit the script or not.
I would suggest you read the source material before you start spouting off about how Aaron and Eric fit the script, but I’m thinking you couldn’t handle it.
I believe that if you find a lesbian couple in the show you would not be dissapointed.. the fact is that they’re MEN.. just relax and pay attention to the plot.. they’re the last gay couple in the new world.. and it’s very naive..
Woah man whats with everyone hating on gays? I honestly dont understand why people care, am i wrong for dating a bangin tan curvy lady instead of a blonde hair blue eyed skinny white girl? To that i say no sir! And a big old high five to everyone who doesnt have a problem with aaron and eric, seeing them on the show promises a very exciting future that i for one am pumped right up for
This show j St nosedive.
Stupidity is much more common than homosexuality. In the event of an apocalypse, I’d take my chances with a gay person over a stupid any day (I bet the walkers wouldn’t even wanna eat ’em for fear of being contaminated)!
Testify! Stupid can change so whats your fuckin excuse diplopia?
So anyone that sees homosexuality as an abomination is……stupid?
If you’re really going to call something people have no control over an “abomination” then yes, Dip. You’re stupid.
“NEW REPORT COMING IN: GAY PEOPLE APPARENTLY DON’T EXIST.”
You’re a fucking joke. Good riddance.
Gay people are only supposed to exist under a rock or in a closet apparently @Neutral. These TWD bigots really hurt my heart.
Carly makes an excellent point above. If you aint chill with homosexuality you should have stopped watching back early on in season 4 (episode 6 I think).
Please don’t procreate or adopt, your identity should die with you.
Hahaha true walking dead, ADAPT OR DIE!
It’s nature. Survival of the fittest!
Found you… following you… come have some fun with us on G+.
So awesome to finally see the ASZ!!!
Y’all see that Alexandria Safe Zone’s entrance? Front line? Gate?
Just imagine the man, holding his baseball bat covered in barbed wire… with hundred of Saviors behind him… standing in front of the gate. Just right there at very spot in TV show.
C’mon, we all know what’s going to happen in the future 😉
“Little pig, little pig, let me in.”
COMIC SPOILERS!
Did you notice that the gate is covered up and not see through? That will prevent several comic book scenes from happening.
It’s going down… let’s see how.
It’s possible that the gate they arrived at isn’t the main gate, since they took the road that wasn’t cleared.
Make em say UGH!!!!! Dope episode. Every second was so fucking thrilling. Love Aaron already. Can’t wait to see how the gang acclimates to their docile new home. Looks like Daryl will be like comic-michonne and be unable to shake all the things they’ve been through. I’m so happy to see that she is staying positive
Time to nail up your sword/crossbow/machete over the mantle posse. And what’s up with Rick hiding that gun? I’m thinking the show might take an unusual turn away from the comics and somebody is not gonna be staying long in Alexandria. After all, they are only perspective residents and it’s really not up to Aaron. Fucking Gabriel is definitely gonna mouth off like he does in the book.
I’m thinking he hid the weapon in the same way he buried the bag of weapons outside of Terminus. Definitely don’t think its a Farmer Rick planting his guns with the tomatoes move. Rick’s always got a backup plan.
Loving Ross Marquand’s portrayal of Aaron and I am beyond excited to see where they are taking the character. Can’t wait to see more of Alexandria’s residents and how our shell shocked survivors will fit in (or not) with them!
The only thing that bums me out about the group’s arrival in the safe-zone is the impending loss of Rick’s beard when he gets comfy-cozy in Chez Grimes. Don’t do it Rick!
Hahaha. Agreed!
Ha ha, didn’t see this before I left my comment saying R.I.P to his beard, we all know it’s going soon 🙁
Awesome show tonight. Can’t wait for the next one and to see more the Alexandria Safe Zone. It only gets better.

The Walking Dead Family:
https://www.facebook.com/TheWalkingDeadFamilyEGVO
Great episode, I’ve had to try and convince my non-comic fan friends that Aaron is ok, without spoiling anything for them over the last week, so I’m glad they’ll see that I’m right when they watch the show later.
Like I always do on Monday mornings, after watching the show, I checked out the episode reviews on IMDb, and I’m disgusted that two of them are extremely homophobic! Just because the show has introduced a pair of gay characters doesn’t mean anyone should stop watching, absolutely ridiculous!
As for the next few episodes, I think the group are gonna have a hard time adjusting to life in Alexandria, and I’m gonna get in there first when I say this:
R.I.P RICK GRIMES’ BEARD 😉
Pretty great episode. Cool to see Eric introduced. For everyone who is hating on gay people; What if you just treated them like people, because they are people? There’s a novel concept…..ok, whew, got that off my chest. Holy cow, Michonne! Asserting your authority for the good of the group! I really don’t think that the group needs to fear everyone, but after what they have been through it makes sense. I was so annoyed with Rick this episode!! Loved the Dale references as well. It would be great to see Abraham become a more important character, as well.
SPOILER******SPOILER*******SPOILER********SPOILER
Did anybody else think that Glenn bashing the walker’s head in was foreshadowing for his meeting with Negan and Lucille?
They’ve been teasing us for a few episodes now. I wonder who they’ll get to play Negan, maybe Henry Rollins, who his appearance was based on in the first place!
Word. The. Fuck. Up. For real H-Rolls would be the peeeerfect negan, not only does he look the part but i could def hear his voice saying negan shit like “lucielle is a vampire bat heh heh”, seriously fuckin mind equals blown right now, such a good call rikstewart
I’m so in camp Rollins on this one! My mind would explode like a soft walker skull being smashed into a rock.
What was the name of the female that Aaron is taking them to for “approval”? Starts with a D.
Denise?
~Comic Spoiler~
That could’ve been it…I was thinking that it was a name not found in the comic, tho, but I’ll be damned if I can remember it! Wonder if this is a gender swap with Douglas & if this is Breckenridge.
Debra? Deidra?
It’s Deanna… at least it’s not Dawn, lol!
This show just nosedive. Why is this home krap being shoved in our faces. We got sick to our stomachs being subjected to that devouring kiss.
Shut the fuck up already.
Some people are dumb
You shut the duck up! Does the first amendment only apply to you?
I said it before and I’ll say it again:
Please don’t procreate or adopt. Your identity and ideologies should die with you.
Um. Strange come back. you do know that Homosexuals Can’t procreate.
But they certainly can adopt. And in raising a child they will hopefully be able to pass along on their loving and accepting ideologies. So while their actual DNA is not being passed along necessarily, pieces of them will live on in the identity of the offspring for which they helped raise.
As for you, I’m not quite sure yet about your breed. Perhaps you are the distant relative of an ancestral population where inbreeding depression caused severe homeotic mutations causing your anus to literally develop out of your face, or more plausibly chromosomal mutations leading to neurulation deformities and some level of retardation. But I think your angry ass parents just fucked up and beat you too many times. Give the real parents a chance to raise some non-hate filled entities, nobody is gonna miss the likes of you.
Wait, were you telling homosexuals not to procreate? I thought that was directed at the people detached from reality… you know, the ones yelling “gay propaganda”.
L – M – A – O!!!
I used “necessarily” in the first part cuz I wanted to focus on adoption. But certainly all people have the option of finding a surrogate mother so that indeed their DNA will be passed along. No problem with that at all.
The second paragraph is referring specifically to:
Matt355
Diplopia
Hbvans2000
and the other bashers
Matt355 obviously thought you were talking to someone who is gay, lol!
what gets me is that your so upset now, but wait till jesus turns up in the show. if I can paraphrase a great man, why dont you fuck the fuck off. Fucker
Isn’t Pete the guy who beat his wife in the comic? This is going to be SWELL!
Yeah, you’re right.
Deanna was her name. Guess she is taking the place of Gregory.
Great episode. If you want to see how funny Ross Marquand is, search for him or Celebrities Against Twitter on Youtube. Funny as hell.
Gregory is the leader of hilltop. Douglas would be who she is replacing
Gregory is the leader of my asshole, seriously fuck that guy
Hahahaha
So what is up with Aaron lying about the people in Alexandria? He got all flustered during the three questions and Danai Gurira confirmed that Michonne knew he was lying about something. Aaron said he had been watching them cuz Alexandria needed them. Maybe they need Rick’s crew specifically. Maybe Negan has already been harassing Alexandria and so they set out to find a hardened crew of survivors to help in their struggle. There is something fishy about these Alexandrians, I don’t think they will turn out the same as the comic
I thought the same thing.
~Comic Spoiler~
The only thing I can come up with is that maybe they’re still good guys but the rule Negan has over the community is much more pronounced. Maybe they have less freedom than what is depicted in the comic. I always imagined that an attempt to compensate for lack of a foul mouth is to make Negan more of an asshole.
Maybe. But in the comic Negan is a lovable guy and the kinda person I’d hang out with normally (minus all the killing). He cracks jokes, has some fairly rigid and positive morals (when it comes to rape and protecting his own people), and he is always down for some fun. I do get what you mean though, maybe the saviors have a much more hands-on approach than in the comics. I think we’ll see some full circle themes that were brought up in the first episode of this season, specifically the terror instilled by institutionalized murder (which they talked a lot about on TD s04e01). The fear doesn’t come from the fact that the saviors are terribly brutal people, it comes from the fact that their terrible brutality is normal to them. They may not need Negan to swear at all, just be his happy positive self as his saviors fuck up the other communities.
Aaron and Eric are no different than Glenn and Maggie. Once Aaron saw that flare it didn’t matter if the group would kill him…he had to get to Eric. Great job. Great episode. My lunch break is almost over so I’ll just cut it short at excellent job I can’t wait to see where we go from here.
I feel like Deanna is Olivia.
Reading everybody comments and just want to say for people who don’t read the comics. You probably should seeing how y’all would’ve known to expect Aaron and Eric gay. Robert Kirkman has also warned for months now he was introducing gay characters too the show. That being saud I’m a Iverson who doesn’t totally agree with same sex relationships but somebody said in a comment something i do believe in and that’s that gays are people too. I still love the sites and i think it was a great idea to add these new characters. Now the show is open to do many different kinds of people to watch. PLEASE people let’s stop downing gay people this show is the #1 show on cable tv for a reason and I’ll never stop watching. This also was a great episode. The battle of the minds and right and wrong. Going the distance taking a risk. I loved all the mental clashes there were. Even Carl calls out Rick about not going to Alexandria after they find out Aaron is being honest. Rick has his pre-terminus moment and hides the gun I’m just going to say that has Pete’s name written all over it. (Let him heal Noah first lol) i love how much michonne has developed. She went from being a useful asset to the group to like 2nd in command. It’s so much going on with this show every week it’s better and better because something different is Happening and that’s besides bashing zonbies heads in. I hope to God negan does not show up anytime soon. And i love T.J.W but I’d much rather see noah meet Lucille first rather than Glenn. Everybody knows what to expect dim negan but remeber the show twists things you can’t be 100%sure that Glenn us getting that date with Lucille. Plus gkenn is one of my favorite characters show wise at least. I think they tease us because they know they’re taking negan induction in a different way than the comic which i think would be good for the show. Over all this was a great episode once again. I could go on and on about it but i had to comment because to many people are talking negatively about the gay guys and like i said I’m not with that either bit they are people and people make their own decisions and have that right and choice to live freely like that. Love the 2 new characters and can’t wait to see next weeks episode. Walking Dead team please keep up the great work
Its the number one show on cable because people watch it. I just stopped watching it. I don’t want to watch two men kissing. if that makes me Anti Gay Fine. from what I’ve seen of the gay community of late. If you don’t wholeheartedly support everything gay. You must be Anti Gay. When the TV commercial for charity with the hungry kids or injured pets comes on do you change the channel. are you Anti Charity. if I find something distasteful I don’t need a reason not to watch it. I just don’t.
I Never had any interest in reading the Comic. My understanding is that some of the people in the TV show, Including Daryl, Don’t even exist in the comic. A lot of things are different, like Michonne Being horribly and repeatedly raped by the Governor and his men, So I only watched the TV Show and didn’t want any possible spoilers. That being said, They didn’t have to have two guys kissing.
I can’t. I just can’t. I am already disgusted at the number of anti-gay posts and the likes those posts got. I’m especially disgusted that none of these dicks said a fucking word when it was Tara and Alicia. But now that it’s men they’re all “OH MY EYES!” Seriously? Aaron & Eric are here for a good long while so settle in and deal with it or get the fuck on. There are more gay characters on the horizon as well. In fact I hope with everything in me that when Jesus is introduced they do it in the exact same way as the comics: Check out this bad ass mother fuckin kung fu master that took down both Abe & Michonne at the same time. Then when dudes go all fanboy: SURPRISE! He happens to be gay. Doesn’t make him any less of a bad ass! That’s all I have to say about that. Rant over.
Alexandria, here we come! For all of you who cringe at the sight of a man kissing another man grow up. We live in the 21st century!
Probably one of the hottest kisses we’ve seen on the show (but we don’t see much kissing anyway haha)
Yo my girlfriend said the same thing! Hahaha she even wanted a heads up to when it would be coming
Great episode! Rick is the LEADER the group needs. Someone said “[…] Ricktatorship is 100% Carol-approved […]” I will go further and say “Ricktatorship is 100% approved by all”. About the Aaron and Eric kiss… This is not the first time Mr. Kirkman introduces tough characters/scenes in the TV series (and in the comics). Remember Merle calling T-Dog a “nigger”? Remember Earl beating up Carol? What about Shane leaving Rick to alone in the hospital and telling Lori Rick was dead? And sleeping with her? What about Merle saying something to the effect of “the zombie will get hungry fast” when he left the zombie to attack Glenn? What about the scene with the Governor and a top less Maggie? Shane trying to kill Rick? Shane killing Otis? Cannibals? Lizzy? Look at the flowers? Are you kidding me????? Mr. Kirkman has pushed the envelope since the beginning of the series (Ricks shoots a little zombie teddy bear-carrying little girl in the first episode). Tow men kissing, who evidently love each other (“[…] the only way you’re going to stop me from being with him right now is by shooting me […]”) is what makes TWD one of the best shows in town.
Well, this episode immediately became my favorite from Season 5!! I love just about every thing about it!
a completely awesome episode 🙂
Are there going to be panel reference for this episode?
Yup. Coming up in a few. Great avatar.
Let’s see:
There was Rick knocking Aaron’s lights out
There was Aaron saying that there are 32 people in Alexandria (32 + Aaron + Eric = the 34 Aaron said in the comic)
There was Eric and the listening device
There was Michonne, demanding that Rick pull his head out of his ass and go to Alexandria
There was the reference to Rick, Abe and Carl’s trip to Cynthia (the car smashing zombies)
There was the reference to that Alexandrian who broke his leg in DC (Eric breaking his leg)
That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. Any more?
I think it will be more realistic if the group decided to let one of them go to Alexandria with Aaron… Maybe he could enter the city holding a gun to Aaron head, and then check the city thoroughly . If things go sour he still have a chance to get out using him as a human shield. If he doesnt make it at least he sacrificed himself for his friends
Also, before spliting the group should pick a place to hide (ignored by Aaron). If the scout doesn’t come back, they execute Eric and move along.
I’m seriously wishing they would establish a rendezvous point in case of emergency. Did they learn nothing from fleeing the prison in opposite directions?!
Laughing at all these plucky duck homophobes downvoting every sensible “grow up and stop hating others just for existing differently than you” comments.
Stay classy, guys.
This episode was by far the best episode of the whole series so far.
So intense and calm at the same time. And the car lights turning red, holy crap that was awesome!
And the look on Abrahams face when he saw DC; he was just like a 5 year old girl who just got a pony. Man, I would see this episode at least 4 times before the next one comes out. Thank you for this!
WhIle scrolling through on my phone I know that I accidentally up voted one comment and down voted another. I didn’t mean to do either of those so don’t get too excited or agry if yours is one of them.
These votes don’t even matter… in about a week or so, they will all disappear.
You get 5 point when your up voted? Right?
Yeah, but you gotta earn 650 points to get an extra space for a comment reply & 3000 for an edit button & they disappear with the upvotes.
30000000000 milion for an edit button!
Skybound’ s not giving us an edit button on purpose. Remember Mark Jackson’s letter in “Letter Hacks?
Infinity Points
No, but I’m curious as hell to know what was said in Letter Hacks
Here ya go, Tonnie2NA.
that’s pretty fucking hilarious
Another great episode! There’s a ton of symbolism with light and dark with the whole episode. Even in the opening scene, the whole group is grim and dark, but once Aaron comes in, there’s a ray of light on him…literally! Check out my blog that talks about the whole episode!

I have watched and supported this show from the beginning. I have not always agreed with some of the turns its taken. Like killing Beth. but I’ve always enjoyed it and had faith that the writers would continue to make it better. But that changed this last episode with two guys kissing. Just what everyone wants on TV. more gay propaganda. Guess that explains why Beth had to die. Can’t say that i’m going to stick around for the next shoe to drop. Gay Daryl anyone. I wont be watching anymore. But I needed to express how I felt after watching for so long.
I can’t get past your insinuation that Beth died so that two men could kiss. You’re such a confusing and confused fellow.
I’m glad you got to get all these strange and mixed up feelings off your chest. Now we would like to discuss the episode and how it was one of the best of the back eight, if you don’t mind.
Beth died because the writer wants to keep his options open. No love story for Daryl and Beth. It didn’t even make any sense for her to die so soon or the way she did. At first there was a huge backlash to him considering killing Daryl. Then to him making Daryl gay. But now he is introducing gay character to make the audience more accepting. for instance say anything bad about the kiss. Eventually he will make Daryl gay to pander to the gay community and get publicity. People will be afraid to say anything because. Well just read some of the comments. Then he’ll explain how. I said I wouldn’t but it just seemed like such a natural progression for the character. Its not hard to figure out where this is going.
This conversation has gotten beyond silly so I’m done. Every time you make a post I just shake my head and feel sorry for you. Good luck man. It’s got to be hard to walk around with this much hate and anger in your heart.
Bye.
You won’t be missed.
This was a good episode. It has a good start, action and thriller until the end, emotions and controversy. Yes sir this is TWD.
My two cents…. Spoilers ahead………….Switch the Abraham and Glenn deaths. Have Glenn be on a scouting run with Eugene (for the ammo factory). And have Abraham be the lucky one that Negan chooses to introduce to Lucille. By the way, am I the only one that sees Sasha take on the role of sniper (aka Andrea) for the group, minus the relationship with Rick. I’m still trying to figure out who Carl is going to be calling “mom” in future episodes. And can’t wait to see Michonne in a cocktail dress, ala comic cover #72, always liked that cover, was (and still is) so different from the usual grimy and grungy TWD look
I’ll have to think about who, between Abraham & Glenn, I’d prefer to meet Lucille, if it’s not Daryl. That’s a tough one! I’ve been hoping/wishing/thinking about Sasha being the show sniper back when she first came on the show! I can’t see Rick in a relationship with any of the current characters… I gotta go with someone new.
Ya, some woman who’s hand he chops off.
You really think they’d kill Daryl? How many fans do you think they’d lose if they did that? I just wouldn’t be able to watch the show if some characters didn’t exist to add the depth of humanity that Rick, Michonne and Daryl do
I think they’re milking Daryl’s fandom for all its worth. Also, Kirkman talks like Daryl is his absolute favorite. So in reality, I see Daryl as the immortal & it’s only my wishful thinking that he’d get killed off. Since they gotta keep ’em, he could at least go back to the way he was when we first met him!
The most disappointing thing about this episode is all you guys who are making it about the fags kissing. I’ll be honest, when I saw it – I was like … ‘OK, feed them to the walkers’ … but it is a SMALLLL part of what’s happening here. There was soo much being set up in this episode that people are overlooking because they are narrow minded. All the speculation about Jesus, Negan and how this group will acclimate to a more normal environment is so friggin exciting I cant wait till next week.
Likes – Rick is still the baddest – most impressive dude out there. Always cautious – always thinking ahead. I hate that he is being second guessed – especially by Michone (who by the way was way too eager to trust ASZ after Woodbury). I get that she is tired and sick of all the shutout there – but she APPEARS to have let her guard down.
Dislikes – Well, only that it’s not next Sunday, and I’m not watching the next episode. Also – the season is almost over already.
Hopes – Darryl does not die to make room for another lead character. Hard to figure since he in not part of the franchise originally – so you can’t really speculate.
Will we really get 10 season out of this? Will the spin-off series ruin the experience? Time will tell.
You had my attention until I got to the derogatory term “fags”. smh
LOL – those aren’t my words – just reflecting all the negativity I’ve read related to that part of the show. All I’m saying is – it’s crazy that people focus on the inconsequential parts of the show – make it about things it’s not. More than half this week’s reviews are about that 2.3 second scene – and it’s funny to me that these guys are so narrow minded.
I’m glad you cleared that up, otherwise, it would’ve made you look somewhat similar to those narrow-minded folks. 😉
I totally agree with you that there was so much more to that ep! And it was more aligned with the comic than I remembered. It was awkward to see Michonne in an about-face, but that’s the way she was in the comic. I loved Carol’s line… thought she was on the one! To see that gate at the end was like “Whoa… look where we’re at now!” I’m piqued about upcoming events, but at the same time, I’m hoping that we coast through this because this is too good to be rushed!!
Poor arron he’s been punched, had his food nicked, tied up and then almost banned from seeing his boyfriend and ricks group expect them to just let them in lol
Rick:should we go
Judith:Yes they have apple sauce
