“Shiva”
Daniel experiences nightmares of the war and Ofelia becoming poisoned before he’s awoken by Stand’s gunshot. Everyone’s crowded in Strand’s room, where Celia berates him for shooting Tom and not Romeo-ing himself. Alicia tells Travis about Chris showing up with a knife by her bedside but he can’t bring himself to believe it. Celia warns them they can only stay for one more day. Travis finds Chris in the fields outside and chases after him.
The next morning Daniel feels the eyes of the estate and Madison decides they should leave. “This place is dangerous; that woman is dangerous,” she warns. Travis, who’s feet are bruised and bloody almost gets killed by a man while he’s looking for Chris. Back at the estate a bloody Nick brings a turned Luis back to Celia. She suggests Nick stays and he asks if his family can stay too. She agrees but instructs Strand must leave.
Daniel warns Strand not to bury Tom because it’s an unholy ground. Madison airs her grievances with Nick about his new death obsession and he explains he brought Luis back so the family can stay. Daniel tries taking Ofelia to the gate because of the danger he believes the estate poses. She resists, the guards attack, and he fights back by cutting one of them with a razor.
Travis realizes the man in the hut is protecting Chris because he’s threatened the man’s son. Travis barges in and Chris holds him at gunpoint. Travis knocks the gun out of Chris’ hand, chases, and tackles him. Meanwhile, Celia holds a funeral for Tom, who she explains she used to raise when she was a housekeeper.
Celia attends to Daniel, who’s tied up in a room. As they converse Daniel hears Griselda’s voice, who reminds him he confessed to the murders in the past in his sleep. Celia implores him to confess his sins but he retorts, “I have nothing to say to you.” Once Celia leaves he sees Griselda’s ghost before him.
A bloodied Nick finds Travis and implores him to return but Travis explains he must stay with Chris, who can’t come back. Nick hands him his knife and leaves. Madison begs Celia to allow Strand to stay but she’s resistant. She explains she’s only letting them stay because of Nick, and she’ll have to accept the dead as they do. Madison tells Celia she wants to understand like Nick does. Meanwhile, Griselda berates Daniel for not burying her and not telling her about the first person he killed in the war as a child. “The first victim was you,” she tells him.
Madison tricks Celia into taking her to the cellar and than locks her in, proving she would do anything to protect her children. Daniel takes out a guard as Ofelia’s ghost tells him to set her free. Celia’s people walk Strand out of the estate as Daniel covers the cellar in kerosene. The walkers all appear as humans to him (even Griselda) as he lights the kerosene and burns him and the walkers.
Strand picks up Madison, Ofelia, and Alicia in his truck. Nick approaches them and tells Madison, “Celia was right about us. We destroyed everything.” He walks away as Strand forces Madison inside the truck. They drive off, leaving Nick behind to walk among the infected.
Wow. This was a great finale. I was really sad to see Daniel die, he was by far my favorite character. In terms of what to expect from the second half, I think it’ll be a lot like season 4b of TWD: with the group broken into small groups with episodes focusing on each one, leading up to all of them reuniting.
The soldier who tortured people for answers, the logical & strategical thinker, the most level-headed survivalist type of them all just flipped instantaneously in a rather safe environment, left his daughter in an apocalyptic world, & took himself out. Makes me believe there was an actual curse… or Fear just pulled one of those Glenn dumpster miracles. SMH
AWESOME EPISODE! But say it isn’t so !!! No Daniel don’t be dead ! I really can’t stand Alicia! They need Chris because he’s a WARRIOR and a survivor,I’m glad Travis stayed with his son,Madison only cares about her 2 kids!midseason finale! 🙂 🙂
Loved it 🙂
Apart from Daniel bowing out… Well played
Nick is crazy for staying behind. I did not expect that at all.
He’d rather live with the infected than with his family… wait… maybe he’s not so crazy after all! Muaha!
Hated it. Thought it was a convoluted, trifling mess. Felt like one writer dumped the story & a different writer tried to pick up & fix things but managed to make it just as bad. It didn’t even allow me to feel much over the death of my #1 character.
Well you know what they said? Can’t please all the people all the time! It was AWESOME! But I hope somehow Daniel didn’t die!
At least you’re being a good sport about someone having a difference in opinion. I can’t see Daniel surviving… he had a trail of flames running under him & he wasn’t moving. He may have even thought he’d “go home to be with his wife”.
Really hope Daniel isn’t dead. He’s my favourite character and it feels like there’s more to his character to explore. Plus, the group could really benefit from having his badass services in their midst. Not sure how he could mentally come back from that, though. At least Ophelia didn’t get it. That was my biggest fear. Glad Celia got was coming to her, though, the crazy bitch. And, yeah, Nick really is the walking dead right now. And just what the fuck is going on with Chris? Kid’s a mess and I wouldn’t feel bad if Travis just left his ass behind. And I just love Strand’s parting words from the compound: “Don’t worry about me. I’ll hail a cab.”
I was sad to see Daniel’s possible demise too. As usual, I was hoping through the whole episode that Madison and Alicia would just die. Nick seems to be the strongest one to me, he has from the beginning. The story line was weird and confusing. I hope they clear this up for next season. We need better characters too.
Why were Travis’ feet bleeding? WTF? I must have dozed off when that happened.
I think he came straight from bed when the gun shot went off and never put shoes on before he ran through half of Mexico chasing Chris.
In the world of The Walking Dead if you don’t SEE them die, they’re NOT DEAD!!! I’m sure we’ll see Daniel Salazar again when the season returns.
AWESOME EPISODE! But say it isn’t so !!! No Daniel don’t be dead ! I really can’t stand Alicia! They need Chris because he’s a WARRIOR and a survivor,I’m glad Travis stayed with his son,Madison only cares about her 2 kids!
I love Daniel, wrecking peoples lives since season one lol. I really like this season of fear, although I wish they would start showing the deaths. I know Daniel isn’t dead thank goodness, but the kid jake, Thomas, Luis, Connor, and Celia did not have on screen deaths. I wanted to see Celia get torn apart by the zombies like Noah. Either way this season of fear has been at least as interesting as season two of the walking dead. It’s a good time to be a walking dead fan.
Wouldn’t that be nuts if Nick ends up being one of the originating, or the original leader of the Whisperers????????
One of my crew mentioned that. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it went in that direction. And that would also solidify my idea that they would plan to end TWD at the conclusion of AOW.
I was curious how many people would be acting like this. Cuz if I were rick and I figured that shit out early, I woulda been doing the whole skin walking thing for a while. Nick may certainly be the originator though, with influence of this death cult. Would be an awesome full circle thing for the fans
Yeah I feel like Celia had that same mentality where she felt they were the way of the future and he only way to survive is to be among them…didn’t actually see her die, or come back either…
Holy shit, that was fucking stupid. Lots of drama… for the sake of only drama. I just watched an hour of people breaking the entirety of their established character just to create tension. Cheap. That was an out of character mess that did shit just to do shit.
Muy buen final y anciosa de que ya regrese el 21 de agosto. I love Fear
