“Blood In The Streets”
Nick swims ashore naked as helicopters fly by overhead. The seas are full of ships with searchlights. He gets dressed and makes his way to an abandoned tent camp nearby. He kills a walker through a tent, cuts him open, and covers himself in its blood to go incognito.
Travis and Madison bicker over what to do about Strand. Ofelia and Chris trade stories about their past when suddenly three people in a raft paddle towards the boat and ask for help. Chris wakes everyone up and Madison helps the pregnant woman.
Alicia wakes up, notices Nick is missing, heads upstairs and recognizes the man’s voice as Jack, who then punches Travis. The pregnant woman bangs Madison’s head against the mirror and ties her up. Jack ties the rest of the group up and Reid remarks Chris should have shot them when he had the chance. Someone on a raft shows up and Reid shoots at him, puncturing a hole in the raft.
A flashback from 2005 shows Strand seducing a man at a bar to steal his credit cards later. Back to the present, it’s Strand that was in the raft who’s looking for the machine gun clip Daniel hid. Ofelia tells Jack he shot the man who has the key to the boat, leading Reid to hold Chris at gunpoint until he tells him where the key is really located. Travis reassures him he can start the boat without the keys and he releases Chris. Alicia berates Jack for deceiving her and he tells her he had no choice. He also mentions Connor will sort things out when he gets there. Meanwhile, Nick peruses a nearby town in disguise as a walker.
Returning to the flashback, Strand is confronted by Thomas Abigail, the man whose credit cards (and boat?) he stole. Strand explains he used $30k on debt and real estate but will pay him back with interest. Back to the present, Strand loses his phone in the ocean while Travis attempts to hot-wire the boat (wasn’t he an English teacher?). Reid shoves Travis downstairs to start the boat while Madison creates a distraction.
Jack tells Alicia that Connor saved him so he owes him. Alicia offers to come with Jack in exchange for her family’s protection. He cuts her loose and seem to reach an agreement. In the meantime Nick locates house he was searching for and is approached at gunpoint by the man from Strand’s flashback (Louise). Louise explains he’s going to help them cross the border but then asks, “What do you mean by all of us?”
Madison continues to distract the pregnant woman by suggesting her baby already died. Louise explains his mother worked for The Abigail’s and could be safe in any environment. Flashback again: Strand is discussing real estate plans poolside with Thomas. It’s clear they’re romantically involved.
Connor and his friends arrive on the boat and instruct Travis and Alicia to come with them. Nick and Louise get close to The Abigail and quickly realize the hostage situation. The man takes out both of Connor’s people, inspiring Madison to stab Reid through the abdomen. Nick hops on board with Louise and explains he’s going to help them get to Mexico. Louise says he only planned on taking Strand to Mexico and Madison tells him Strand escaped before the takeover.
Madison rescues Strand from the water.
it seems like there pushing Homosexuality in this episode thats all great an all for those who live that live style but where in the hell are the walkers not on the boat obviously when there on land there barely a threat…. im very disappointed in the writers an directors this show could be great but right now 2nd season sucks… it needs to be ask is this Fear the Walking Dead? or something els entirely
live that life style*
I disagree with u dude, I thought this character development if victor strand was super interesting. I didn’t feel like anyone was pushing any agenda on me, rather, I found it very believable, being California & all…. I still love this show and everything else in the walking dead universe EXCEPT all these foreign actors, come on & hire American! AND, all these beards being grown – gimple, hardwick. Only Kirkman can rock it, so quit trying to copy him! LoL
First off, your homosexuality comment seems out of nowhere. You put it out there then backpedal by going “oh, but I guess it’s great for homosexuals.” Strikes me as a majorly backhanded ‘compliment.’
Secondly, this is FTWD’s second season. This is still fairly within the show’s foundation period. “is this Fear the Walking Dead? or something els entirely” What else would it be?
Are they pushing heterosexuality in all of the other episodes?
How come you weren’t here complaining last week when two characters were in bed together about to have sex?
We got downvoted for pointing out bullshit. How lovely.
I get downvoted just for having an imagination (see below) & for speaking out against piracy (Here’s Negan). The Idiot Apocalypse is BOOMING!
take that homophobia shit some where else man. nobody is pushing anything on you. gay people exist in the real world and are as entitled to representation as anyone else. nobody really gives a shit if you like it or not. finish an English class and learn to write a coherent thought before speaking next time you uneducated, bigot hick.
This ep was hit/miss for me. Some parts had me on the edge of my seat, some parts were stupid as hell.
HIGHLIGHT: I found Madison just a tad bit interesting.
while it was interesting to see strands background story, it was more interesting to see the danger posed by other humans, it doesnt always have to be about walkers, at this stage other people are a more serious threat. i would like to know how the hell they tracked the boat though
Sonar. I think it was these guys who were tracking the crew before they hit that island with the “survivalist” family in ep 2.
I wish they would’ve detailed what the boats with lights were doing out there in the beginning of the episode, & what about the helicopter at the beginning, was it military or civilian? It looked civilian.
From the way they were talking on talking dead, the helicopter was probably Mexican government since they closed the border and that giant wall I think was the border
Oh, was that the flotilla that kept getting mentioned ??
Is this the wall Mr Trump seems fond of?
If Trump’s in Baja with Thomas, waiting on Strand, I’ll let Connor take me. Hell, I’m jumping in the raft with Alex & Jake!
I thought this episode was one of the best so far. I find the characters are becoming a bit more believable. Although I am sick and tired of the petulant teens. I have to keep reminding myself that, these folks are still in the shock phase of the story, the decisions they make now are more gut reaction then the plotting and planning that would be expected if this was 6 months after the zombie apocalypse. I still cannot stand some of the characters though and wish they would just fall overboard!
As for Strand, rock on! The more I know about him the more I love his character. He is very complex and compelling. I am glad he is represented the way he is, and kudos to the writing staff for the diversity!
I am really enjoying this season of FTWD. I am actually liking the characters a lot more than I did in the first season. Daniel continues to be my favorite character and Strand offers a different perspective that we have never had on the walking dead. Also I’m missing Alex. Bring her back!
I have so many questions after that episode. How did Reed & Co know everyone’s names on the boat? Why did Conner jump on board and immediately say they were taking Travis and Alicia and the jump off without even checking things out? Why are they taking them at all? Don’t they just want the boat? Wouldn’t they Just kick them all off? And if travis is the only one now who can stop and start the boat..why take him off the boat? Where did all the boats that were in the beginning of the episode go? What was up w/ the helicopter? Alicia already heard on the radio that all rescue efforts were over. Isn’t it a little soon to have organized gangs like Connors? Why didn’t Nick tell anyone he was going on a mission? And how come he had to swim vs. taking a zodiac to shore? This show is progressing nicely but leaving me w/ alot of questions. It’s a little more elaborate the The Walking Dead in terms of plot and storylines and maybe all will be explained but it is slightly confusing as a viewer right now. Too many things to ponder.
Got a theory & this is just a vivid imagination running away, as usual…
The Governor ran Woodbury. Rick ruled the Prison. Dawn dictated Grady Memorial. Enter Strand’s Baja.
Strand is an opportunist. Thomas was intrigued in more ways than one & wanted in. They obviously ran game in real estate before the apocalypse hit. I’m wondering if they do have some real estate set up in Baja & plan to run it with their comfort in mind, with the help of a few unaware people to get the operation started. So Strand may have been scouting for recruits while he was in the camp & has indicated that he could use Nick (maybe even use drugs as a leash) & took him & his family on. They’re gonna help build things up while Strand rises to the top (or at least that’s Strand’s intent, without realizing what he has on deck with Daniel Salazar). I can see Strand & Thomas running Baja mafia style while drinking Scotch by the shoreline while people like Travis are on the front line making sure their tumblers stay full & their clothes stay clean & pressed.
Like I said, vivid imagination.
Not just Vivid, Technicoloured 🙂
I like it though
Now that would be a nice set up! Hope they go with something like that. People will organize and usually behind the strongest and most confident, which Strand surely is.
I enjoy the youth in Fear the realization that their lives are completely over and its a brand new world is compelling for me. On TWD you had Grown Folks and young Kids. I like the story of early 20 something in this new world. Nick is by far the best all around character in the show. Im glad they gave you his addict background which was on point as far as im concerned because i was at one point a addict myself. They touched on it but didnt go to deep just enough to let you know that Nick has a leg up in this new world because he does not fear death. Was hoping Alecia was gonna kill Jack when he cut her loose but she didnt and hopefully it doesnt come around to bite her in the ass. This group is gonna get bad ass much quicker than out TWD counter parts. They will learn that people are the real threat and start killing first and asking questions later very quickly.
