“Do Not Send Us Astray”
Morgan finds himself in a muddy headspace again when he hallucinates seeing Gavin in the woods. He snaps out of it when he hears horns ring out warning The Hilltop that The Saviors are near. Maggie, Ezekiel, Rick, and the others scramble while Siddiq convinces the remaining Hilltop doctors to assist them with the inventible casualties. They agree as the Saviors inch closer to their gates.
The sun sets as The Saviors arrive outside the Hilltop. Maggie radios Simon and threatens to kill all 38 of The Saviors she’s keeping if they attack. Simon dismisses them and instructs his people to eliminate The Hilltop. Dwight mentions it’s not what Negan would have wanted, but before Simon can answer Daryl rides up behind on them on his motorcycle firing his machine gun. They duck down and Simon commands them to move into The Hilltop now. They crash into a bus by the gate and are flanked by gunfire in all directions. After the first wave dies down the Saviors unleash a flurry of walker gut-infected arrows into The Hilltop.
It’s all out chaos at The Hilltop. Tobin gets stabbed by a Savior but Carol kills his attacker before he can finish the job. After sneaking up behind Tara, Simon instructs Dwight to shoot her in the side. He does and Daryl opens fire on them in retaliation. His allies shoot out the lights around the Saviors and the battlefield falls pitch black. Simon and the Saviors confidently approach the house until headlights blind them and they’re fired upon from every window of the house. They sprint the other direction until more lights are turned on and Rick and his people shoot at them from the back. Morgan hallucinates Gavin again while Simon and the remaining Saviors retreat in their trucks.
The following morning Daryl and Tara argue over Dwight while Michonne tries comforting Rick. Maggie allows Alden to bury his people and expresses her regret that Negan wasn’t among the dead. Meanwhile, Carol visits Tobin in the infirmary while Siddiq tries talking to Rick (not a good time, bro). That night, Tobin turns and bites the neck of two of the living Hilltop residents (including the main doctor). More of the injured also turn as a result of The Saviors’ walker gut-infected weapons.
Meanwhile, Henry asks Gregory which Savior killed his brother and Gregory tries to pry the assault weapons from him. It doesn’t work, and in the distance they hear a walker attack in the main house. Rick and the gang rush in to kill the walkers while Henry holds the Saviors at gunpoint demanding answers about his brother. Suddenly a walker attacks and the Saviors use the distraction to escape the pen.
Daryl tries making sense of why their own people turned while Carol is forced to kill Tobin. Rick and the others join her and piece together their people were attacked by walker gut-covered weapons. They break the news to Rosita, Enid, and Tara while Siddiq and Alden kill the remaining walkers outside. Alden tells Maggie about the escaped Saviors and says he wants to stay.
What did you think of this week’s intense episode? Is Tara going to live? Will Jadis kill Negan in next week’s episode? Tell us in the comments below!
Well, just another random ass episode. For starters, are we suppose to care about Henry? Fuck the kid, couldn’t care less whether he’s dead or alive. The walker turning scenes were horrible. How can a guy fall down the stairs and no one notice. Also, Tara has done a 180 on Dwight, while Daryl has fallen even more into being a useless annoying character. It is far beyond time for them both to go. I don’t even feel like I just watched the episode, I feel like I watched a long commercial for the episode.
Also, has the show completely forgotten how the walker bites work or what? I’m pretty sure it has been stated many times that the bite itself doesn’t matter, it is the infection. Yet Carol and Co. don’t seem to remember. Carol says, “They weren’t bit,” does she not remember that everyone is infected already.
Couldnt agree more…How dumb are these characters?….Why would Henry open the door where the prisoners are when he could just shoot through it? It was made of barb wire…..idiot….another episode where it was so dark you could not tell what the hell was going on during the action….The group doesnt remember that Jenner told them that everybody turns after they die???…no bite needed….Usually the last few episodes of the season have me so pumped for the next week and not wanting the season to end….I could care less this time around…
No? These are people who would have otherwise lived but the Saviors spiked their weapons with Walker blood and guts.
Do you even actually watch the show? You get that shit in your bloodstream (via bite usually, which are 100% fatal barring amputation) and you always die.
That’s why they were shocked.
No, it is not 100% fatal, they just don’t have what they need to stop the infection, and they would need a lot. The blood and guts/shit you speak of, only cause an infection like you could get in real life. I’m talking about why the first thing they thought of was a bite, like when Carol says none of them were bitten… They were all injured, wouldn’t it be more reasonable to assume that some of them might have died from their injuries and turned, before jumping straight to “none of them were bitten.” Also, thanks for that sarcastic question about whether I “even actually watch the show.”
How come the info on my TV said that the WD was 2 hours? I feel like we were lied to.
Aren’t there enough commercials to get the message across?
.BASTet: I have a magic device called a DVR so no, I don’t watch commercials. 😉
Even when there are 5 minutes of them with 1 minute of show in between as is frequent.
Duly noted.
But missing some awesome stuff… Into the Badlands is awesome & The Terror looks like it’s gonna be good!
Yeah, it’s been fucking showing as 2 hours for 2 goddamned weeks. That’s called “false advertising”. And the added insult of burying the preview for next week 30 fucking minutes into the snow shit I don’t want to watch was worse.
This show is hemorrhaging viewers, AMC pulling shit like this won’t help.
Kickass episode!!
Aw man, damn… Tobin!! I liked the guy! Wish he could’ve gotten a little smooch from Carol… while alive, of course.
Reminded me of the Superflu run in the prison.
Wonder why Henry decided not to believe Morgan.
Siddiq is the worst new character ever….he reminds me of these sjw snowflake college kids…
That’s because you’re a racist POS who hates Arabs and Muslims.
Awe, did snowflake get his feewings hurt? Poor baby! Go to your safe space (Neo Nazi rally) and let the adults talk. LOL
I love how for like 2 and 1/2 seasons they have been playing the “Waa we have no doctors” shit and then suddenly Hilltop has a magic doctor to argue with Siddiq and give him shit for no reason until she gets eaten and no one cares. (Well, maybe Bennydice does. Probably had to go to his safe space and torture an animal to death or something with there being one less white person on the show and all).?
I liked this episode. More action oriented. Disappointing to see Morgan zoning in and out again. Tara should have offed Dwight when she had the chance last week now she is toast! Now I want to see what happens to the Savior who took Henry’s weapon….I want him dead really bad!
I think the Dr. that was messing with Siddiq was a survivor from The Kingdom. I am gonna go out on a limb here, but it didn’t look like Dwights arrows had walker goop on them. The time for people to turn is never consistant. Kinda screws things up in my opinion.
“You know what it is”, what does Morgan know what what is?
Decent ep, bit too much pew-pew (where are hilltop getting bullets from?), worse shots than stormtroopers, how can Simon be stood in front of everyone and not even get dinged?!
I can see Negan taking Jadis out Alpha-style (smoochy-smooch slice)
I loved this episode, Maggie’s arc and her realising as a leader she has to put her people before her own needs and desire to kill Negan, Rick blinded by rage, Michonne being the best support to him again, Carol and Tobin having little closure before the end, Dwight saving Tara’s life. Poor Dwight, I feel so bad for him, I just hope they’ll realise what he’s doing, before Daryl shoots him. Beside all this great development, the whole episode was tense and action packed, and it brought back that scary feeling when walkers are the threat.
The only thing I didn’t like was no guards and everyone sleeping. Some things I can explain, like that one guard on the fence was dying from his wound and lets say the others had their attention on the outside of the walls, so no one noticed walkers or Henry, the key for the prison could have been hanging somewhere where anyone can take it, the house doors were open because of the heat, but there is no way no one would hear a walker falling down the stairs and there was no reason for Henry to open the prison.
Beside those two things, great episode.
