Our Walking Dead Season 9 Power Rankings continues with our list for Week Thirteen. Beta dropped, Daryl stayed on top, and we added someone new! Check out the list below and let us know in the comments if YOU agree. Also, check out our new site!
1. Daryl
Daryl continues to ride high in our rankings despite the growing threat of the Whisperers. Not only did his plan to lure Beta and his gang of skinheads into that building work, but he outsmarted Beta in a fight and threw him down an elevator shaft! Sure, he weaponized his environment and should have finished the job, but can you really blame the guy? Who could have known falling down an elevator shaft is survivable?
2. Alpha
Alpha didn’t appear in this episode but her power stills looms over our heroes. Beta will surely return to her at some point, giving her even more of a reason to threaten Daryl and the gang.
3. Michonne
Michonne will play a HUGE role in next week’s episode in the present and past. We can’t reveal too much, so you’ll just have to wait and see. But for now, we’re keeping her at the three spot for running Alexandria.
4. Carol (+2)
Carol handily de-escalated the Highwaymen’s threats by promising to show them a movie. As silly as it seems, it led to the new group saving Tara and the gang and giving Kingdom its own private militia. This better be some movie.
5. Ezekiel
Even though Ezekiel stayed put in the rankings we DID decide to move Carol ahead of him. Like we stated above, it was the Queen who calmed things down and convinced the Highwaymen to join them. Plus, maybe send a messenger next time, Ezekiel. You don’t need to bring the whole squad when it could be a trap. Hasn’t he seen Season 4??
6. Tara (+1)
Tara keeps proving her worth each time she’s on screen. Sure, she needed some help with the Highwaymen when the walkers attacked, but she still showed off her leadership skills.
7. Connie (+2)
We shouldn’t be surprised by Connie’s surprising rise in our rankings anymore. This week, she proved again why she belongs in the Top 10. Sure, Daryl helped coordinate the Whisperer trap, but it was Connie who stood up for Lydia and convinced him to fight.
8. Henry (+1)
Henry gets more respect from us this week after killing Whisperers, protecting Lydia, and taking a knife to the leg. Sure, Henry can be pretty bone-headed sometimes, but at least he’s brave.
9. Lydia (-1)
>
Lydia, we know that you have reservations about killing your old people. We get that. But come on, they’re trying to kill the people who ACTUALLY care about you! You got Daryl to actually care about someone not related to Carol or Rick – that’s huge! Next time, pick up a staff and get to killing.
10. Beta (-6)
We know, Beta’s still alive and will most likely return to Alpha and concoct a revenge plot to retrieve Lydia. But as far as we know, Beta just lost a fight to a guy nearly half his size and is currently moaning in an elevator shaft. For now, that warrants a huge deduction in our rankings.
11. Aaron
Aaron continues to play a huge role in Alexandria, so his ranking will continue to reflect that.
12. Jerry (+1)
Jerry proved his worth yet again during the Highwaymen confrontation. Plus, his kids are freaking adorable. That deserves a slight bump up.
13. Ozzy (NEW)
We’re adding Ozzy (and his Highwaymen crew) to the list for obvious reasons: they didn’t kill our heroes, they saved Tara and the gang, and they said they would help the Kingdom with security. That’s so much power!
14. Father Gabriel (-2)
Gabe got a reduction this week mostly to make room for the gains and addition of other characters. No offense, Father.
15. Judith (-1)
Judith also lost a spot for the same reason, but expect to see MUCH more of her next week.
16. Magna
Magna, Yumiko, and Kelly had some great scenes this episode but didn’t do a ton to move the needle in our rankings, so we’re keeping them (mostly) in the same spot.
17. Yumiko
Ditto.
18. Siddiq (-3)
Siddiq hasn’t played a huge role outside of the Alexandrian council meetings, so until he does we’re inching him down.
19. Kelly (-1)
Kelly’s only getting a deduction because of Ozzy’s addition. We still love you, Kelly.
20. Negan (-1)
Negan will play a bigger part in a few episodes, but for now we’re pushing him down because of Ozzy.
21. Rosita
Rosita technically moved up this week because we figured at the moment she’s slightly more powerful than Enid, but that could change.
22. Enid (-2)
We’re big fans of Enid, but she hasn’t contributed a ton in this back half. Thankfully, we’ll see much more of her in the coming episodes.
23. Eugene
Like Rosita, Eugene also technically moved up this week because we deemed him slightly more powerful than Alden.
24. Alden (-2)
Alden’s cool but like Enid, we haven’t seen much from him lately. So, we’re moving him down.
25. Luke (-1)
Oh Luke, you’re so lovable. Unfortunately, we have to keep you at the bottom.
And that finishes up our character Power Rankings for Week Thirteen! What did you think of the list? Let us know in the comments and catch us next Wednesday for our Week Thirteen list.
