Our Walking Dead character Power Rankings for Week Seven finally added all of Magna’s group while some of our heroes got moved around. Let’s dive into our new list:
1. Michonne
Notable Quote: “I’m not letting my men take five armed strangers to Hilltop.”
Michonne finally decided to trust Magna’s group a little bit more this episode thanks to a broken violin and and a visit from their fallen friend. Sure, they’re still in her ‘custody,’ but Michonne made strides. And even though she was oblivious to
2. Carol
Notable Quote: “You gotta let that go.”
Carol set out on a mission to rescue Daryl from his self-imposed isolation…and was successful! Not only that, but she convinced him to watch over Henry while she attends to things at the Kingdom. That’s power.
3. Jesus (+1)
Notable Quote: “The fair is important, Aaron. Not just for The Kingdom, for all of us. We have to come back together.”
Jesus is still riding high in our rankings as Hilltop’s leader. Even though Tara reminded him of his responsibilities in the face of unknown threats, Jesus still tried to bridge the divide between his community and Alexandria.
4. Ezekiel (-1)
Notable Quote: N/A
We grade on a recency bias so since we’ve seen more from Hilltop and Alexandria, the leader of the Kingdom is getting bumped down.
5. Daryl (+1)
Notable Quote: “I never found a body, ever. After a while it just got easier to stay out here.”
Daryl grew more this episode than he has in the past few seasons. His isolationist camp was a sad reminder of Rick’s departure, but thankfully Carol was there to snap him out of his homeless existence. Daryl’s renewed sense of self comes with a new responsibility to look after her best friend’s adopted son Henry, which could lead to Daryl growing even more. More on that later…
6. Father Gabriel (-1)
Notable Quote: N/A
Gabe’s only getting moved down to make room for Daryl.
7. Aaron (+2)
Notable Quote: “Eugene’s still out here.”
Aaron gave us the best tackling someone off a horse scene of the series. Although he didn’t do much other than remind Jesus how against the fair Michonne is, his meeting to help bridge the gap between communities proves he holds a solid amount of power. For that, he gets a raise.
8. Siddiq (+8)
Notable Quote: “What about Carl? What about your promise to him?”
Thank Jesus Siddiq was by Michonne’s side this episode – he (mostly) helped her keep her composure and get them all to Hilltop. Siddiq’s proving to be far more valuable than just the town doctor, which is why he’s getting the biggest boost this week.
9. Tara (+9)
Notable Quote: “I know you think you’re just keeping a promise to Maggie, but you took this job. Stop pretending it’s just for all. She’s not here, you are. Your people are counting on you, Maggie is counting on you. I’m counting on you.”
Tara has really stepped up these past few episodes. Jesus may be running Hilltop, but it’s Tara who’s holding it together.
10. Jerry (-3)
Notable Quote: N/A
Jerry’s only getting demoted because we haven’t seen much of him the past few episodes.
11. Henry
Notable Quote: “She misses you…she worries about you. You can see that, right?”
Henry proved himself capable against walkers and Daryl’s rough exterior this episode. Not only did he save Daryl, but he helped convince him to travel to Hilltop with them. He may not be as weak as Carol makes him out to be.
12. Rosita (-4)
Notable Quote: “Eugene…he’s still out there.”
Rosita’s getting moved down because of the rough shape she’s in. Still, she knows about the whispering walkers, and since knowledge is power we’re not going to let her fall too far.
13. Judith (-3)
Notable Quote: N/A
Judith’s only getting moved down because other characters have been stepping up.
14. Magna (-1)
Notable Quote: “So we’re just supposed to trust her if she doesn’t trust us?”
Magna’s technically the leader of her group of survivors so we’re keeping her ahead of the rest. We’d move her down more but thankfully Yumiko calmed her down enough to keep her on the right path.
15. Yumiko (NEW)
Notable Quote: “I just want us to have a home, you know? Somewhere safe.”
Yumiko seems to have the most level head in her group. And not only can she bring her group together, but she can really handle a bow.
16. Kelly (NEW)
Notable Quote: “I mean guys, we made it this long. I say we take our chances out there.”
Speaking of, it’s good Yumiko talked Kelly and Luke down from leaving Michonne’s caravan. Kelly proved she knew her way around a sling-shot, which makes her worthy of this spot in our Power Rankings.
17. Connie (NEW)
Notable Quote: “He has an unhealthy obsession with rescuing musical instruments in need.”
Connie’s also skilled with the sling-shot, and honestly she and Kelly should share a spot. We’re glad to have them both on the show.
18. Enid (-3)
Notable Quote: N/A
Expect to see Enid in next week’s episode.
18. Eugene (-7)
Notable Quote: N/A
As far as we know Eugene’s trapped in a barn somewhere, and until he’s found he’s staying near the bottom of our rankings.
19. Luke (NEW)
Notable Quote: “So this, this is the one thing that separates us from the animals. For better or for worse, it brings us together.”
This episode proved Luke isn’t much of a fighter, but he does have a sophisticated understanding of the world. Still, we’re keeping him towards the bottom until he proves himself.
20. Alden (-3)
Notable Quote: N/A
Alden will return next week with an interesting new storyline.
21. Negan (-2)
Notable Quote: N/A
Expect to see more of Negan next week…much more.
On The Bubble: Cyndie, Laura, and the whispering walkers.
