“For Blood”
We’re at the end of the first half of the season with our mid-season finale!
The B-plot is the Alexandrians hunkered down for a storm. Leadership goes out to fortify the walls while Rosita, Virgil, and the kids stay put and fight off some attacking walkers. Judith, as always, is a fearless little badass. Little Ass Kicker, indeed. Rosita also puts on a walker-killing clinic.
The main plot is the final showdown between Maggie, Daryl, etc and the Reapers. They lead a herd of walkers toward Meridian as Pope starts firing mortars. But that’s not all, he also has an insane Wile E Coyote dynamite-attached-to-a-hundred-arrow device that he plans to fire into the herd. Leah is forced to choose sides after Daryl confesses to her and she kills Pope to help Daryl but then pins the murder on Daryl and sides with the Reapers. She’s choosing the Reapers over Pope, not Daryl over the Reapers. Daryl escapes off the roof before reinforcements arrive. Leah ends up lighting the arrow/dynamite defense weapon anyway, and as it fires at our group (still mixed in with the walkers) the episode ends. CURSE YOU, CLIFFHANGER!!!
What did you guys think? Maggie, Negan, and Daryl will make it out, right? RIGHT? What will Leah’s future be with the Reapers? Are they going to be a problem in the second half of the season? Where is Dog? No Commonwealth updates?!
