Michael Cudlitz is back…again! After masterfully directing “Stradivarius” (Episode 907), the former Abraham Ford actor announced he’ll return to his apocalypse stomping grounds to direct an episode in Season 10. “I’m going to go back this spring and direct another one…I’m directing Episode 3 of Season 10,” Cudlitz told Entertainment Weekly on SiriusXM.
Cudlitz, who plays patriarch Mike Cleary in ABC’s The Kids Are Alight, made headlines recently when he hinted that he could return to The Walking Dead in a NON-directing role, too. While appearing on Good Morning America’s Strahan and Sara, Cudlitz said, “The show has sort of laid out in its history the way they tell stories is through flashbacks and origin stories, so there are still characters on the show that were very close to Abraham that he had history with. So, (they) could very easily go back…they’re also doing other movies that go back in time, go forward in time, and I believe pair up characters that weren’t necessarily paired up in the graphic novels.”
But as we said in our other piece, this could all just be a way of him hinting at his return as a director. Either way, it’s clear Cudlitz still enjoys being a part of TWD Family. “Everybody asks, ‘What do you miss most on the show?’ And the thing I would miss the most typically I don’t miss because I do see all these guys. What I would miss is all the people, and I see these guys five to six times a year at different conventions. We travel all around the world together. That’s one of the cool things that this has afforded me.”
