FINALLY. After MONTHS and MONTHS of waiting we are back. Season 5 is here and it starts with a BANG. And a BOOM. And a THWACK. Episode 1 was GNARLY. Let’s get to it.
The show starts with one word: THEN. We see Gareth and his people, held captive. “We brought them here” his friend says as we here screams outside.
NOW. Rick and his team are weaponizing. They’re taking everything they can find and making shivs, spiked knuckles, garrotes, everything. Then they wait for the doors to open… only they don’t attack through the doors. They drop a smoke bomb through the ceiling. I feel like Abraham or Rick should have seen that coming.
Rick, Glenn, Bob, and Daryl are dragged into a room with four other men. They’re made to kneel bound and gagged over a large steel trough. A man in the corner is cutting apart a human body with a buzz saw. After the men are in place over the trough, he picks up an aluminum bat while his partner sharpens his knives. It works like this: Bat to the back of the head, then they slit your throat and you bleed out into the trough. IT. IS. BRUTAL.
Guy #1. Guy #2. Guy #3. Rick readies his wooden shiv. Guy #4. Then they get to Glenn. If you’ve read the comic you are holding your breath at this point. The guy winds up aaand Gareth comes in. He’s asking for a shell count from the butchers and taking count of the guys being killed. Bob get his attention and tries to talk him out of it. It doesn’t work.
Gareth talks to Rick next. He wants to know what he buried in the woods (his spotters saw him). After threatening Bob, Rick tells him. Guns. AK-47. 44 Magnum. Automatic weapons. Night scope. Compound bow. And a machete with a red handle. “That’s what I’m going to use to kill you.”
Gareth gags Rick and tells the guys to finish. The butcher winds up to take out Glenn again aaaand explosions outside. CREDITS.
We jump to Tyreese, Carol, and Little Ass Kicker. We see that Tyreese is troubled by what they’ve been through, going so far as to ask Carol to take care of a walker they stumble across. Avoiding a herd, they come across a scout of the Terminus gang. He’s radioing back to base about Carl and Michonne. Sucks for him that they hear it.
They take him captive in a shed. He tells them it was all self defense. He was about to set off fireworks to draw the herd away from Terminus. Carol doesn’t want that to happen. She wants the distraction. She leaves Tyreese with Judith and their captive and makes a gut poncho to blend in with the herd.
The captive tries to talk his way out with Tyreese. “You’re a good guy. That’s why you’re gonna die today. The baby’s gonna die.” He tells him to take the car and go.
Carol makes her way to Terminus. She sees them dragging Rick and co into the kill room. She targets the giant propane tank by the fence. Shoots a couple holes in it and then uses the fireworks to blow it to smithereens as the herd approaches. Flaming zombies swarm the compound and Carol sneaks in.
Tyreese sees the explosion through his window. Once again his captive tries to convince him that if he’s unwilling to kill, then he will be the one killed.
Gareth leaves the butcher with the bat and his throat slitter. Throat slitter wants to go help, butcher wants to do their job. As they argue, Rick cuts his bonds and kills them both. Bob, Glenn, Rick, and Daryl grab weapons and escape.
Back in the shipping container, Eugene is trying to rig an explosive from the smoke bomb to blow the door as zombies surround it.
In the kill room, Bob is about to stab the brain of one of the butchers. Rick stops him. “Let them turn.” They move into the next room–basically a meat locker full of human body parts. Rick tells them “you cross any of these people, you kill them. Don’t hesitate.”
Walkers have surrounded a container, someone is yelling inside. When Rick suggests slipping by Glenn tells him that they have to help. It’s who they are. He opens the door and a bearded man with a tattoo comes running out. He grabs Glenn, then Rick. “WE’RE THE SAME!” he yells laughing. Rick shoves him off and a walker gets him.
Carol finds the supply room. She finds Daryl’s crossbow and Rick’s watch that he gave to Sam in season 4.
A kill squad comes through taking out walkers. Rick lets them pass by they kills the last one, takes his gun, and kills the others. Rambo Grimes. Cut off by the herd, they double back through the compound.
Carol finds the memorial room. Mary gets the drop on her while walkers approach the door. Carol spins and fires on Mary, who drops her gun. Carol interrogates Mary (or tries), shooting her in the leg. Mary tells her how they were attacked and raped but they won. She then leaves her to die as she lets the walkers into the room.
Back with Tyreese, his prisoner manages to take Judith hostage, and he forces Tyreese outside with a zombie horde. Unfortunately for him, this is kind of Tyreese’s forte. He takes them all out, bursts back through the door, and tackles the Termite with full prejudice. He proceeds to beat the stuffing out of him as we see the wrecked zombies outside.
In the shipping container, Sasha is grilling Eugene about what he knows. He tells them that he was a part of a weapons program that would find targeted pathogens with targeted pathogens. He says he can make a disease that will kill the dead but not the living.
Rick throws open the door (it’s like a war zone) and everyone escapes over the fence. They go back to their buried weapons to re-equip. Rick wants to go back to take out the Termites but cooler, and more compassionate heads (Abraham, Glenn, Maggie, Rosita) prevail. Just then, Carol returns. CUE THE WATERWORKS!
Daryl runs for Carol and gives her a good long hug (what no kiss?!)? Rick follows suit (“Did you do that?”) and Carol tells him “You need to come with me.” The reunited group heads for Tyreese and Judith. CUE THE WATERWORKS AGAIN!
Rick gets Lil Asskicker back! The gratitude in his eyes and the way he grasps Tyreese’s shoulder is pretty touching. They hit the road, Rick changes one of the Terminus signs to “NO SANCTUARY.”
Title card: THEN
We flash back to Gareth once again. The door to the container is ripped open and a woman is pulled out screaming. When Gareth tries to fight back, a large man with tattoos on his face (the wild man from the container earlier—NOT Negan, sorry gang) reminds him that they’re the ones in power. “We’re gonna take it back,” Gareth says. “You’re either the butcher or the cattle.”
BOOM! END! That’s an action and emotion packed episode!
PSYCH! There’s a post-credits scene! A mysterious figure follows the train tracks. He stops at Rick’s modified sign. He turns and pulls his mask off and it’s… MORGAN!!! He turns into the woods and follows the circles X’s carved into the trees. Who’s marking the path?

We don’t normally enjoy long responses. We’re lazy. But when someone puts this much effort into really understanding the characters, and does a pretty good job of it, it needs to be rewarded. Even if we don’t necessarily agree that Rick and Gareth are THAT similar.
Congrats, JW Coombs! Next time put some more paragraph breaks in there! My eyes are bleeding!

Ok. So the premier was awesome. Although; I felt like it didn’t live up to all the hype, albeit only slightly. But a lot of that could be because I follow the spoilers so avidly and comprehensively. But it was still amazing!
A few things; loved the discover that Gareth and Alex are brothers and sons of Mary. Also, it was chilling to see Alex, Gareth’s own brother, on the butcher table as the first lamb to the slaughter for that day. That sums up what kind of people they are; the kind of people who fight and kill to take back their home, under the pretense of protecting their family; then they take the vow of “we first always” and proceed to trust no one; and use new comers as a source of food and all types of supplies(sure beats scavenging); but these same people, who claim to be so dedicated to protecting their people above all else; callously and coldly kill their own brother(just to take away Rick’s leverage) and then they cut him up and eat him. What does that say about someone; if even after being family, and surviving the ZA together, fighting of enemies, protecting each other, at the end of the day you kill your own brother and process him with the rest of the cattle? That’s not ruthless, that’s completely foul, unadulterated evil. That’s they type of sickness that can’t be treated; an affliction. You would think; after seeing the candle-room that they would bury, mourn, remember, and cherish their lost loved ones.
Also, it was pretty crazy to find out that Tattoo-Face was the original assailant who took Terminus from the Termites when it was still a sanctuary. Even more disturbing; is the fact that they didn’t eat him; they imprisoned him for all this time; giving him just enough to stay alive and most likely torturing him, making him watch all his buddies that helped him rape and kill get taken out and eaten one by one. Keeping him alive so he can watch all his friends die ugly and have to live with it. Apparently all that time and trauma caused him to finally slip his tether, because he certainly wasn’t sane when he came out. You would think he would have came out seeking vengeance; but apparently they succeeded in breaking him a while ago. I wonder if by saying-”We’re the same” he was insinuating he wanted to join the Termites? I guess we’ll never know.
Also, it’s conflicting when you really think about it. Because how different is Gareth from Rick really? Not much at all. He did what he did, sacrificed his soul and innocence, for the sake of preserving his people, their lives and humanity. He’s doing exactly what Rick would do, and has done over and over again. He’s been forced into a corner, with very few harrowing decisions to be made; and he rose to the occasion and made those decisions, no matter how terrible. In my eyes, that makes him a good leader and a good man. He protected his family at all costs; sometimes that means doing unforgivable, dark things. But in this world, being strong, and protecting your people isn’t always “heroic” in the way we think. Sometimes the only way to win is to become what you despise. Now, I agree that the cannibalism is unforgivable; but think about it. I imagine at first, it was nothing but an act of sheer vengeance. It was torture; a sentence handed down by Gareth after passing judgement on the men who raided his home and raped his mother. He felt that death, or exile, or even being damned to wander the earth as a corpse wasn’t a equal and proper punishment for the evil they’d done. So he developed another punishment; what would be more terrifying then watching your friends be maimed, mutilated and eaten; all the while knowing it will be your fate as well. I bet Gareth made him eat his own people if he wanted to live. At first it was just a punishment. But as you know; once you do things and go places, you change forever, there is no coming back; and Gareth was no longer the same man he was before Terminus was taken from them; as much as he’d like to be; that man is dead and gone. He delved deeper into dark and demented recesses of his mind. I’d imagine; after taking back Terminus; they found that the bandits depleted most all of their supplies, killed many of their people, and attracted a large amount of dead attention with their actions. So, even though they’ve taken back their home; they are prisoners in it; and they have no supplies, no food, water, weapons or ammo. They were all injured, weak, shaken, distraught, broken, they couldn’t risk going on a run especially with all the dead in the area. So; Gareth did the only thing he could; he explained to his people that they would have to eat their once-captors and once they’ve healed and regained their strength they would be able to deal with the problems and clean the place up. After that, it just became easy. It was hard at first; but the people easily acclimated, espeically because that first taste was that of their enemies so it felt like vengeance, sweet restitution, it felt…good. So, after that it became a simple dispassionate act; just like eating anything else. Then, they made the vow to never offer sanctuary to anyone again; this was their home and theirs alone. Now that they had a taste for human flesh they figure; wouldn’t it be so much easier to keep the signs up, continue to lure people, but be ready for them. Then when the arrive, we imprison them, take all their clothes, belongings, vehicles and supplies, and then kill and eat them as needed. Pretty smart if you think about it; it means no more scavenging; you let your victims do the work for you, and hand deliver their supplies to you at the door. So not only would this increase their strength and safety; but it would give them a sustainable survival advantage that would enable them to outlast many others. Gareth and Rick are very similar; I believe Rick could have wound up the same way; it’s just they received different pushes in different directions. Had Rick been pushed similarly, he may have made the same choices.
What did you guys think?!
YaY!!! great to see Morgan!! Was wondering when he was gonna resurface.
Carol was awesome (though am even more convinced she’s gonna die this season due to crying at NY ComicCon 🙁 ))
Weirdly I found myself feeling sorry for the termites, it certainly explained why they went the way they did. Was sad!!
I think that it was a episode, and that season 5 really started off with a bang! You really hooked in watchers starting off with everyone getting ready to fight out of train car A and the trough scene. It was also so heartwarming when Rick and Judith where reunited and when Daryl and Carol where reunited.I think that it would be better though if you where to kill off a character, and to really surprise watchers. Also it was cool to see how angry Rick was and how he just killed all of those “termites” and how he shot Gareth.I was also surprised to see how Carol showed no mercy towards Mary, well she was eating people though. It was also crazy to see how far people will go to survive, like how that guy threatened to kill Judith. The best moment was to see see how Morgan returned and how he is still alive was jaw dropping and the no sanctuary scene was awesome.Great job on the show guys I can’t wait for episode 2!It was a great season premiere thank you for THE WALKING DEAD!!!!
I think it was also an awesome scene when rick said ,”a machete with a red handle, that’s what I’m going to kill you with”.
great episode I meant to say
I loved this episode from start to finish! MAN! Best premiere yet! Totally did not see Morgan coming. That caught me totally off guard but is a good surprise. Did anyone else think the tattoo face guy looked a hell of a lot like Negan? We know it’s not, obviously, because tattoo face was eaten by walkers but maybe it’s his brother! LOL Can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings! Also please add the ability to Like comments. It sucks that we can’t do that anymore!
This episode was fantastic getting to see the cast reunite has been a long time coming and truly heart warming at times. That teaser in the end, at first I thought it was Aaron following Ricks group to scout them for Alexandria but no, IT’S THE RETURN OF MORGAN!!! (Who has, seemingly, got his shit back together)
You have to login as an Insider at the top of the screen to comment! Thanks!
#SWEG Morgan is back, baby!!
One of my questions… Did Tyrese really kill the Termite in the cabin?? I’m kind of not buying it. Then on Talking Dead I’m pretty sure that guy wasn’t included in the In Memorium.
GAH! I hate this new comment system. I do NOT think Tyrese really killed the Termite. I think he tied him up and hopes the walkers will get him. I fully expect that same guy to be responsible for one of the Survivior’s death or serious injury and for Tyrese to then get his groove back. I want the hammer!
Yeah, that guy is coming back to haunt him. It will happen!
I’m blown away. Carol was awesome, as usual. I think the episode really set up what will be the best season yet. I thought that bit with Morgan was the lead in to Talking Dead. I really thought that he was going to take off the hood and it would be Chris Hardwick in some gag.
I cannot wait to see how the new group works together with so many new faces. I can’t wait to see where Beth is. This is going to be a great season.
Arguably the best premiere episodes of any show this Fall season! Also, one of the best episodes period. A very rare feel-good moment at the end when everyone is reunited. This has given me high hopes for this season. Can’t wait to watch!
Also, MORGAN!!!!!!!!!!!! Very cool that he is back!
Guess who’s back….. Back again…. Guess who’s back guess who’s back guess who’s back. Danananana! It’s Morgan!!!
Glenn loves Carol’s timing.
Bottle rockets FTMFW!
Backsliding is not an effective escape method from walkers.
Also, anyone see the dumb Termite shooting his assault rifle at the floor? https://twitter.com/phokingguy/status/521524160229412866
Oh, and Morgan is out of crazy town!
This is going to be a great season
Which reunion was more moving: Carol and Daryl or the Grimes family? Both were pretty satisfying but Carol and Daryl’s reunion made me want to hug someone myself!
Carol and Daryl without a doubt!! 🙂
Carol and Daryl were so sweet. That bond is real!
I gotta say Carol and Daryl was a good one. He almost reminded me of a kid the way he ran to her and embraced her and put his forehead against her shoulder. They are kindred spirits. It was too sweet. Of course Rick running to embrace his baby girl was good too. I think they could have made it more dramatic like having him fall to the ground with her but that probably would have freaked the baby out and made her cry lol.
Yeah, Daryl was TOTALLY like a little kid. It reminded me a kid or a puppy dog that hasn’t seen you in a long time! Ha ha. Loved it!
And the Grimes family… Did you see that baby’s face!? I was dying! That kid was totally like “Uh, why are these weird smelly guys crying over me??!” I wish I could attach a screen shot!
Also man, the new comments system looks like poo on mobile devices.
Ah so there is a new comments system. I was wondering what the hell was going on when I couldn’t log in under my old login and had to get a skybound account :o/
Too true 🙂
LIKE! (I don’t like not being able to like)
As much as I love him, I kinda wish Bob had been eaten so I could make a Bob’s burgers joke.
You twisted little fucker!
No one messes with Bob! NO ONE!
Nobody messes with Bob except for maybe those Bad Lip Reading people. I swear, what they do to his voice is so wrong and so hilarious.
Hahaha true that!
Was it me or did they tooootally pull a Marvel move at the very end with that little tiny snippet of Morgan whipping off his mask near the Terminus sign? YES? Yes.
Someone needed to tell the Termites that the world is covered in Chef Boyardie cans that won’t expire for another year or two.
And maybe change the signs to direct people away from Terminus instead. If a nasty group shows up they still have just as much of a fight on their hands.
Great episode though, and yay for the return of Morgan!
Why has the comment system been changed to actual garbage. What was wrong with the last one. What? Now flipping commenting is a Skybound Insider “perk”? How about rewarding us with things we don’t have instead of stripping things away and giving them back as a “reward.”
Dude, all you have to do is make an account, just like you did for Disqus. Yeah, I’m not as keen on the new comment system, but it works, and that’s all I need.
Okay, but the fact that we already HAD a working comment system is the problem. But they stripped it, inconvenienced us, repackaged a new commenting system onto Skybound, pretending it’s a “reward” for being a “Skybound Insider.” When just a week ago we could comment without being one. I was already a Skybound Insider, but this is bullshit. A reward entails giving you something new. This? This is giving you something we already had that they took away (while being restricted to an account that ties into this site but is hosted on another). That sounds more like a child getting off punishment to me.
What it does is allows us to reward you for visiting the site, commenting, playing our games, buying merch, and more. We’ll have more information soon, but it’s pretty cool. You’re earning points for all of that stuff.
Yeah, it is not making secretly posting on my phone all day at work as easy as it was before.
I would like that comment if I could Neutral :o/
Ha!
I hate this new comment system. It’s ugly and backwards. LOL

I wish they would have given deeper glimpse and explanations into and of the Terminus back-story. I mean, I’m happy with it; but had more questions.
Gimple added to it on TTD though. Which I was happy for. I was glad to find out though; that Terminus wasn’t solely a cattle drive or big-game trap. They weren’t just murdering and feasting upon every single new arrival. Gimple explained; that when you showed up, if you were weak, and beaten, and worthless then you were immediately rounded up and corralled to be eaten. But, if you were strong, and if you appeared to be the type of person who could be an asset, and could make them stronger things went a little differently. They showed you hospitality; and treated you nicely, getting to know you, asking you questions, sort of gauging you and taking your measure, feeling out how they think you’ll respond. They let you get comfortable, allowed you to heal up, get your legs and bearing back, give you nourishment, medical treatment and help you to bounce back fully. Then, one day; they bring you into a room to have a talk. They sit you down, and calmly explain to you the origins of all that delicious protein rich meat you’ve been eating. At this point; if you freak out, and resist, and call them sick and try to run, well they’re not going to let you leave and you know what happens after that. But, if you accept the fact, and choose to assimilate; they will bring you into the fold as one of their own. So, it wasn’t entirely just a trap; there was genuine sanctuary for the right kinds of people.
MORGAN! I read about the post-credits scene in a spoiler-synopsis last week but wasn’t sure if I could believe it. But I’m glad to say it was so true! I’m so excited for Lennie James’ return; he’s going to bring a whole new aspect to the show, a whole new level of talent. The man is an actor’s actor.
I can’t wait to see him in action! When he took off his mask, you look into his eyes and you could tell he had found clarity; he looked sane again and almost as if he was searching for his good friend Rick Grimes. I’d imagine when he came out of crazy town, he spent a lot of time replaying the events of Rick’s visit in his head, realizing that he should have gone with him; he wants to be a part of something.
Honestly; I think he may have left King County and tracked down the prison; remembering Rick telling him about it. But when he gets there, he finds a graveyard. So, then, he leaves and winds up on the train tracks next to the prison. Naturally he heads in the same direction as Rick(maybe not coincidentally). But keep in mind; Rick only marked one Terminus sign. So, Morgan was following the Terminus signs under the impression that it was a sanctuary. But then, just as he was getting close to the place he sees Rick’s “No Sanctuary” sign and being the savvy survivor he is; he immediately heeds the lone warning. Then he looks to the woods and discovers another trail.
Here’s what I think that trail is. Gimple said they would be playing with time a bit this season. I believe in the post-credits Morgan scene actually takes place later in the season; most likely episodes 3 or 4. The reason being; I know Rick didn’t mark that trail; but it is, in fact, Rick’s trail. It’s the Hunters who marked the trail. After the fall of Terminus the group disagrees with Rick about going back in and finishing them off. Which is going to come back to haunt them. Gareth survives, as well as a select few other Termites(possibly even Martin in the cabin; I don’t think Ty killed him all the way). It takes them a few days, but Gareth regroups, reorganizes, and forms his new group; the Hunters. And his first order of business is to hunt down and punish the people responsible for destroying his home and taking everything he worked for; and killing his mother. This will be very personal for him, and very painful because of the history of Terminus. They were good people who were taken advantage of, raped, killed, robbed, tortured. So he vowed to become the necessary monster to protect his home and people; and believed his ruthless uncompromising methods would keep them safe forever; and they would have. But then along comes an anomaly; Rick Grimes, and his actions result in the complete loss and destruction of Gareth’s kingdom. But this time; there was no rape, only murder and his mother was among the dead. So, you have to realize this is like deja vu for Gareth; it’s like reopening the most vicious and painful wound he’s ever had; a wound that never fully healed and has now been torn back open to fester and bleed. In Gareth mind, he views Rick along side Tattoo-Face and the others who originally took Terminus; and he wants to make them pay. He wants vengeance. So he forms the Hunters and comes after Rick and his people. But the thing is; they got an enormous head start on the Hunters and could be literally anywhere after a few days. But Gareth won’t let that stop him or slow him down. He begins his hunt; and succeeds in tracking the group; after all a group of 15 or more makes tracks that are hard to hide. But since it’s been so long; there are going to be a multitude of trails and tracks, some of which may even be back tracked and in all different directions. Some may dead end, while other continue on. Gareth has to track all of these trails, and eliminate the useless ones, and piece together the others, until eventually he can put together a comprehensive trail an timeline and catch up to the group. Because there are so many tracks and trails and possibilities; to prevent confusion, convolution, mistakes and the waste of precious time Gareth developed a method for marking the trails with symbols that most likely have some kind of meaning. Certain trails are marked as dead ends through process of elimination; while others are marked as good. This way; when they do locate them in Gabe’s church; Gareth and the Hunters will actually have a semi-permanent and comprehensive blazed trail to the group. It’s a road, or several roads, a network of wood-trail highways that all lead directly to Rick’s location. That way they have quick, efficient, and usable routes for coming and going while they terrorize the group. It makes sense; because it’s clear Gareth is very smart, clever, methodical, and scientific. He’s a very procedural person and that’s why he’s survived; by using his strengths. It makes sense he would develop roads to use based on their tracks; because he’s going to want to torture them, terrorize them, put fear in the hearts before he kills and eats them; but it would be very unproductive and possibly very compromising the get lost in the woods at night after stalking the group or attempting a kidnapping.
Nice I like your thinking.
Man oh Moan..So worth the wait, my only complaint is 60 minutes has never gone by sooo fast. I wish it were a 90 minute episode. The reunion of the gang, the reunion of the Grimes family..What more can you say..Oh yeah, MORGAN..Simply amazing..and the Zombie Explosion was INSANE..Carol redeemed herself. Can’t wait for the rest of this season..
I know They are all saying no, But there was way to many Negan Build ups in that episode. And the whole Negan doesn’t rape thing is a weak argument. The Governor in the comic was a raping Maniac. In the show that’s not the case. Also at the end saying it’s the guy in the container has tattoo’s so it’s not Negan since in the comics he doesn’t well in the comic hoe about Rick’s hand. I think this was a tease of the character and we may see him in Terminus as his home base with one of those aluminum bats that where laying around covered in barbed wire that was on the fence and using all the goods that was in the room Carol found to set them up as The Savior’s! Then again i could be reading way too much into all of this!
Freaking AMAZING episode!!! Everything I wanted from the season premiere, and MORE!! I was not a fan of Carol after last season, but now I am a HUGE fan…the crew wouldn’t have made it out without her!! She still makes me wonder…she has a very dark side-almost like the female counterpart of Rick. Michonne has a dark side too but I think Carl has brought her back to a more “human” place–like where Glenn is emotionally (i.e. when he said they should let go of the people in the train car-which turned out to be a mess, but we won’t talk about that). I loved the Carol and Daryl reunion, almost as much as the Grimes’ family reunion! (although it was hard to hold all those feels while watching it!). I am very excited for the next episode…to see Morgan return (YAY!!!) and how that Termite Gareth comes back. I keep watching the trailer in anticipation for next week! The church they are heading to seems very scary. Overall, I loved the episode, A LOT!! I also like how they incorporated the Hunters from the comic, as well as the church and Father Gabriel. Soooo excited for the rest of this season!! Sundays are forever DEAD TO ME!!!
Move over Walt,
Rick is the one who knocks
Rick doesn’t knock anymore. He barges in, bashes your brains in, and walks out with all of your stuff and thangs.
*like*
It started out with Gareth in a dark shadow
Scared to death with Alex saying much more then a hello
Then it switches to Rick sharpening belt loops and the group getting ready
Until they got caught off guard with a smoke bomb and then they looked very petty
Dragged to the death chamber ready to get knocked out with baseball bats
Sam get’s knocked out first, his throat slit with a knife very fast
As all the captives get knocked out and killed
Gareth walks in and stops the murderers just as they were going to kill Glenn, Phew
He asks Rick what is in the bag rick replies guns and a red handled hatchet which I will will use to kill you
Gareth leaves and an explosion erupts
leaving everyone confused as f**k
We switch to Carol and Tyreese with Lil Asskicker in tow
After dodging a horde they meet a Terminus fellow
They tie him up and Carol leaves
Disguising herself in Zombie guts and goes to Terminus to see
She finds her watch and fights off Mary, all while setting the explosion that killed zombies so merrily
As soon as Rick and Co. get out of the death room they find find their captive friends
They fight off walkers as they try to escape Terminus again
We switch back to find the Termite holding Judith while threatening to kill her and Tyreese
But Tyreese finally comes to terms and kills the termite and left his face in more than one piece
The group finally escapes the burning compound
and when Darryl finds Carol everything is safe and sound
When Rick and Carl see Judith they run to embrace her
And the group watches in smiles as the hug and kiss her
As soon as the rejoice they set out into the woods
Rick crosses out sanctuary signs and writes that Terminus is no good
A short while later a mysterious figure reads the sign
It is none other than Morgan who we haven’t seen for a very long time
That’s my ryhme and I hoped you liked it
I can’t way until the next episode, it’s probably filled with excitement

I wonder if Carol will be the show’s version of the comic’s Andrea. I always hated how they made Andrea in the show. She’s an awesome kick ass female in the comics without ruining too much for those of you who haven’t read the series yet. They are both very similar character wise now.
Awesome way to start the season,I loved it! lots of action lots of drama everything the show should be!The only problem I had with it was how fast terminus ended. I haven’t started reading the comic yet (I will eventually) but I really thought it would have a longer run.
What a great start to the beginning of what I hope is an amazing season of the walking dead! I can’t wait to see what will happen next! May the count down to the next episode begin!
Oh, the season is going to be epic. I have no doubt. No way they would shoot their load in the first episode.
AGREE! If that’s the first episode it’s only going to get better. Dammit Emmy’s PAY ATTENTION!

Man oh man what a way to start a season off with a BOOM!! Boom get it . I will start off by saying I have been Anti-Caroling for a long time but after the season opener I must say Carol is a bad ass. There was so much action and drama from start to finish I can not say enough good things about the episode. After I watched the show then tried for an hour to express my satisfaction for it on the best web site for all things walking dead but for some strange reason I could not so I got to thinking and it is going to be so hard for anybody to copy our show I mean when you watch other shows while our show is off you think hey this aint to bad then season five kicks you in the teeth and keeps going you get to see just how truly good this show is. From writing to acting you get so wrapped up in this show you get so attached to the characters on the show and in the book. If you sit back an look we are the luckiest fans in the world we got a top notch book a top notch show and a top notch web site with Brian and Lizzy the two best moderators ever they don’t only run the website but they are fans just like us. How cool is that ? We get to come to and express our thoughts as a community even when you can’t get on it and express yourself. For
the season opener I give Carol zombie kill of the week. Damn I’ve missed doing that.
Bigger with a heat of gold!
Thank you very much … I have so gotta get use to the new messages
So Im confused. I thought Ricks gun was a colt python .357 magnum. But when Gareth asks him whats in the bag, Rick says its a .44 magnum. Can anyone clear this up for me???
I’m sure the Colt is what he had in him when they went into Terminus. The bag of weapons they buried was all extra gear. It was probably the weapons they took off the Claimers.
This premiere was the whipped cream on the dessert & there’s nothing like hitting that big dollop of sweet head-on! They hyped it up; they delivered, no question about it! I felt like I was holding my breath damn near the whole time. I can’t wait to go back for seconds!
Season 5 opener 7.5 out of 10.
Too tidy. Everybody survives, butchers, walkers, bullets? Bob should have gotten the baseball bat, his throat cut, THEN Gareth conveniently interrupts to spare the other three. Bob is expendable and sufficient shock value.
kudos on the Carol reunion.
One of the most amazing episodes!
Hey, uh, guys!?
I’m new here, how can I choose a profile picture for me!?
Or where can I even find my profile!? :-!
Please reply!
Hey Aryan, welcome! This is a difficult time to be new to the board because they just changed the format and it kind of looks like poo and is hard to read. I have no idea how I got this profile pic, though it is a pic of me. Hopefully they will get this new system sorted out soon and the commenting and profiles will be easier. Stick around!!

I’m so excited to see what happens now that everyone is back together (other than Beth obviously).
Favorite part was definitely when Rick sees Little Ass Kicker. Daryl + Carol is simply amazing, but seeing Rick come down from his insanity (that he certainly needs to keep the group alive) that we’re all getting used to was humanizing, relatable, and awesome. I mean, he bit a dude’s neck… Can’t wait to see what this crazy father does to protect his family (Not only, Carl and Little Ass Kicker, but everyone).
Great episode! Finally Daryl and Carol again together (I hope it won’t stay at hugs!…even though I’m little bit jealous of Carol lol :D), Carl, Rick and Judith together…everyone is happy. And still I have no idea what were those scenes with almost unknown people…Hmmm, you know how to make us wait impatiently for next Walking Dead.
Everyone is going in to depth to win this shirt…Eugene + “Should we tell him” is the most intriguing part of the episode! Give me a shirt! 😉
Deliciously deranged. Delightfully disturbed. I couldn’t believe I was actually seeing what I was seeing on TV. And then the reunions. . . Wow. One minute peeking through my fingers, the next running for the tissues. It was an emotional, 60-minute roller coaster ride, and I can’t wait for the next one!
