Although, personally, I’m all for the Daryl eats Beth theory, it’s the fate of the former that has recently spurned both excitement from his critics and renewed threats from his Vixens.

There’s a lot of catholic connotations thru the entire comic. A lot of
mystical references, like any reflection about the undead that makes Hershel, and the importance of Gabriel (like the angel) in
such a hard moment for the group isn’t coincidence. The twins killed
each other like Cain and Abel. And I can continue all night long… Yeap, there’s a lot of biblical references in this story.

I have heard, Daryl becomes Dwight, after the Hunters are done with him, and poor Beth Negan finds / saves Daryl,, and grooms him into Dwight. The details are still left to be ” Ironed ” out…..lmao
I could be all fangirl about this, but the truth is, I think Daryl brings an interesting masculinity to the show: not a father (Rick), not a husband (Glenn), but a brother, and someone who, unlike almost everyone else, never really fit in in the world before the walkers.
I don’t mind if they tone down the Highlander badassery a bit, but I think there are lots of interesting character things to be done with him.

It is a tv show everyone, so if he dies he dies. Seriously, I love all the characters but if that is the direction it is the direction. Remember, originally he was going to be killed off early so he lasted this long. Let the writers do their job and we will still enjoy watching.
If he dies, it has to be in a very emotional and epic way. Not hiding in trunks with that bland blonde. It’s a great character that represent a badass way to be in an apocalyptical world, but at the same time he suffered a lot (in the pre-Apocalypse and during Apocalypse) with all the child abuse and the lost of his big brother, who never understood him. So, if he dies now, this season, it just will be a turnaround move for the show, and it’ll not be cool at all. If he dies (he will, be ready for it, fans of Daryl, he will) it has to be the most memorable moment of the entire show. like Shane’s death.
Well said except that I like Beth. I look at her as she is. A young woman growing up in an apocalyptic world. Aside from the fact that all of her family except for her big sister now, has been killed off. She’s lost friends too. Not sure many other teenage girls would be any different in that situation.

It’s obvious when you see comments from people that really just watch the show. Those who read the comics know very well that every character is up for grabs when it comes to death. Most of them come out of knowhere, and most of them are very brutal. I very much like Daryl, but I think that the fan craze that follows him might actually be the cause for his death.
I like Daryl also but I wouldn’t stop watching the show if he died by no means . I think you are right they may kill him off just because everyone thinks he’s safe .

I had to vote daryl dies we riot, I would be upset but I wouldn’t riot or stop watching. I see so many people who claim to be fans but say they would quit watching the show. I would be heartbroken and think it would leave a big hole in the show even with the new character additions but I wouldn’t be able to stop watching no matter how much I’d miss Norman.

An automatic rifle is seriously a much more dangerous weapon than a crossbow. Rewatch terminator 2, toward the end sarah conner tries to gun down the computer programer with a silenced automatic rifle. Quiet and much more dangerous. Added bonus of not putting zombie covered arrows in your mouth.

Daryls bike is just a concept borrowed from the comic version of Rick. Theres an early issue cover showing rick riding a motocycle. It pretty much looks like darly from the tv show.

Everyone thinks Daryl might die this week… no way Daryl is going to die when everyone thinks it might happen.
AMC has to be looking at economics and ratings when it comes to contemplating whether or not Daryl lives or dies. Daryl Dixon/Norman Reedus brings a LOT of viewers to the show so if he died, viewership would be hurt and The Walking Dead could potentially no longer be the highest-rated show in the 18-49 demographic or whatever category it’s in. And economics aside, Daryl is one of the core characters like Rick on the show and his absence would be felt in the continuation of the overall story and plot lines. That’s my two cents.
I agree 100% I think the network doesn’t dare to do it because of Daryl’s popularity, so I think he’ll be around for a good long time. Keep in mind though, if the show (hopefully) continues for a few more years or more, actors may eventually burned out. It’s happened in the series before. Fortunately, Norman Reedus seems to want to stay. Personally, I think it will happen eventually. It’s my concern every season that this will be the end for Daryl. I would be devastated if he died. Also, both Tyreese and Abraham are in the series now and both at different stages in the comic became Rick’s right hand man which makes me a little concerned for Daryl. If they bring Jesus into the series I think it’ll mark the end for Daryl.
Daryl has essentially assumed Andrea ‘s role from the Comic, as the Scout/sniper and Rick’s confidant. But, with the arrival of Abraham, I just don’t see of the series can tolerant that much testosterone next to Rick. No one’s even concerned about poor Tyreese, Rick’s original Right Hand from the Comic. The TV series certainly did his character an injustice, reducing him to more of a bit player than T-Dog.
Personally, I think Daryl and Carol will leave the group, after Daryl has to kill Tyreese, to protect Carol.
Dary’s death would cause ratings to slump, I’m sure. But the show would come back with a vengeance…something to make up for it. The “wow” of killing Daryl off would probably even bring back some people who slacked off from watching the show, simply because they thought certainly DARYL would be safe! “What will that show do next?!”
I’m like Gregarious…I don’t feel that’s gonna happen when people expect it, which is when a character ends up on Talking Dead. Deaths are usually surprise guests anyway.
For me, if/when it does happen, it will affect me like Hershel’s death. It will hurt, but I’m a Walking Dead fan, not a Reedus fan, so I will keep watching.
I have said this since the beginning of the season. Anyone can die. And the only way to really prove that is by killing Daryll. I admit, it would make me sick. But remember Rick’s encounter with the men at the house, the men I believe to be the hunters. If they kill Rick, sure, we can say that, but killing such a fan favorite as Daryll will eat at people who will still continue to watch. We enjoy episodes without Daryll just as much it would seem, as 2 of the last 3 episodes didn’t really center around him. So, it would seem that if Daryll dies, anybody can die. Judith, Carl, Rick, Michonne, anybody.

You’ve probably heard it all before.
It’s just, to me, he’s too big. In his character we’ve found a heartthrob that practically overshadows the actual main character. His character has grown into something that seems artificial. We started with a redneck and ended up with a “bad boy with a heart of gold” that even comes with a leather jacket and motorcycle. His character seems entirely shaped to fit the hearts of the rabid groupie fans he has acquired. In season 3 it seemed so important to make sure Daryl has his zombie killing screen-time instead of something with meaning for any character.
Plus he’s Rick’s “right hand man,” so to speak. Rick has had numerous characters that served that purpose in the comic. Now, the show doesn’t need to be exactly like the comic, of course. But the point is that in the Walking Dead people die. Even (ESPECIALLY, really) the strong ones you’d never expect to die. It’s a brutal world where kids get shot, people are axed down in cold blood, we lose our loved ones, and no one truly makes it in the end. Daryl has become too big. In the world of TWD it doesn’t matter if you’re strong, weak, intelligent, young, or old. What matters is you’re alive. Keeping a character like Daryl alive based solely on his toughness and how much the fans love him seems counterproductive to everything the Walking Dead is.
Now see, this is why I was hoping that you’d elaborate! You’re well written. I voted “Riot”, only because nothing else really fit for me…”Meh” didn’t because it would hurt to see Daryl taken out, BUT I totally agree with you–there shouldn’t be any sense of a character on The Walking Dead being immortal and it feels like Daryl’s time has really run its course!! I love Daryl. Don’t get me wrong but right now Daryl is Ricks right hand man and if you read the comics then you know Abraham becomes Ricks right hand man. I really think that Daryl going to die. i’ve been waiting for it. i wont mind if he dies and everyone saying he deserves a crazy awesome death…i hope Robert Kirkman makes his death pathetic because all the shit Daryl’s done is the show is abit farfetch like the walker meat sheild. ill be glad when the show ventures more towards the comics and kills off unnecessary characters!

I think daryl is the only realistic character this season for the simple fact that he thouroghly observes his surrounding before comitting to any plan of action.
I don’t give a rats ass if Daryl dies. Any of the characters that don’t exits in the comics can go anytime as far as I’m concerned. I don’t hate his character but I don’t have any emotional attachment to him.
With that being said, are you disappointed when the show deviates from the comics?
Daryl is still one of my favorite characters, although his presence fizzled out in the first half of this season. I think he may get killed off, in time, but for now I see other characters as targets before him. I just keep thinking back to the comics and I’m trying to place certain show characters in the place of comic book characters seeing how some people are still around (Andrea) and some people are dead (Tyreese/Carol). We’ll see what happens, but I don’t see Daryl dying in anything but a really big battle, like Hershel did.
I’m still very much looking forward to some of the new (bigger named) characters getting introduced too. Jesus!

I’m hoping Daryl dies soon. After Merle died, Daryl hasn’t been as interesting of a character, only being absolutely perfect in every zombie kill and line. Daryl beng Ricks right hand man is taking away from the show being able to show off characters like Tyreese. Now with Abraham AND Tyreese, it’s really time for Daryl to go, and go out well.

Daryl is such an ispiration to strength for me. The walking dead wouldnt be the same without him. Daryl is by far my favorite character on the show. Not because of his looks (but that definetly helps, hes so friggin sexy! Men have their favorite sexy characters on the show, you need to leave one for the woman too!), but because of how I feel he brings alot of entertainment to the show. If it wasn’t for him, I feel like alot of storyline would have been cut out (going back for Meryle, at the rooftop and at Woodbury, continuing the search for Sophia after pretty much everyone else quit, Bringing Meryl back into the group at the prison for a bit, getting seperated with Beth, and now with this group of men who I honestly think are cannabills) he just brings alot of the story together.. idk. sorry for my spelling too. I apparently cant spell for my life. haha!
