The Walking Dead Season 8 Finale will look much different than any season finale from the past. Instead of a massive cliffhanger, (like Morgan showing up in Season 5, Negan killing someone off in Season 6, and All Out War beginning at the end of Season 7, fans will actually get closure. “It does feel like it completes something,” Andrew Lincoln recently told Entertainment Weekly about the Season 8 Finale. “But it also does feel that it offers a lot of interesting story arcs for the future, which is quite unusual.”
Norman Reedus echoed this a week ago in a separate EW interview. “There are four things that happen that could be the finale, and they all go off at once at the same time,” Reedus told Entertainment Weekly. “They head in different directions, and they’re all individually as good as the next, and they’re all very, very satisfying. I like that about it. I like that it’s not just one person’s story. There are probably four, maybe five, different directions that the show could’ve ended on and it went in all of them. It’s very satisfying.”
In the comics, All Out War wraps up with a massive battle at the Hilltop between Rick and Negan’s groups. Although Season 8 will definitely mark the end of All out War, Andrew Lincoln hinted to EW that it might not end at The Hilltop. “The location we shot at was phenomenal and unusual,” Lincoln said. “I hope that it’s going to look on screen as good as it felt when we were shooting there.”

It does look as good on screen, and we think fans won’t be disappointed with how the season wraps up. Andrew Lincoln agrees. “I think you’ve got everything in this one,” he told EW. “It’s quite an unusual structure, but it’s very emotional, I hope, because that’s what I felt (while shooting). It’s epic.”
The Season 8 Finale will air on Sunday, April 15th at 9PM followed immediately by Fear the Walking Dead’s Season 4 Premiere. Fans who want to experience the double feature with others can now purchase tickets at their participating local AMC theater.
