“Hambug’s Gulch”
John, Alicia, Morgan, and June kill a bunch of walker barriers in a montage that ends each time with them crossing off circles on a map. John and June drive out of walkie range and find another walker roadblock. They approach it and immediately come under fire, forcing them to retreat in their van (without their weapons) and drive through the barrier. They arrive at a ranch that straight out of Westworld. John says it’s his old stomping grounds and they can find guns there.
While taking out the walkers, John tells June this is a Western-themed tourist attraction and he used to work at a similar one elsewhere. They hole up in one of the buildings and find a stocked gun locker. On the road, Alicia accidentally makes contact with Dylan and the girl, who are hiding from someone. The feed cuts off and Alicia decides they need to find them.
John and June load up on supplies and decide to brave the wind storm so they can return to the van. A stranger approaches and starts shooting at them, causing them to retreat. He shoots one some of the tires and John clips the stranger with his gun. He runs over to find him and is held at gunpoint by…Dwight! “Where is she?!” Dwight demands. He plays dumb as June pistol whips Dwight from behind.
They tie Dwight up in one of the buildings and rummage his stuff, finding maps from other states and his “Honeymoon forever” note from Sherry. June treats Dwight’s gunshot wound as he finally comes to. He yells for John to put down Sherry’s note and John does, but tells him they just want to help him. He asks about the walker blockades but doesn’t get an answer. Elsewhere, Alicia and Luciana pop a tire and swerve into a ditch. They investigate and find makeshift spikes laid out on the road.
John and June barricade the doors with furniture and Dwight suggests they take his car, but John tells him he’s coming with them. After some talk they introduce themselves and Dwight tells them about his mission to find his wife. Dwight laughs at their names and John finally unties him.
The walkers break into the bar as John, June, and Dwight escape out the second floor window. Dwight jumps off the roof, forcing John to follow him. The two pick off walkers as June starts the car. When they get close Dwight runs back to another car, where he rummages through the glove box. Dwight scans at a car registration with Sherry’s forever symbol on it and a message to go “West on 30.” He radios John and June to explain how Sherry has been leaving him messages for him in her travels and how he thought he’d find the next one in the car, but there isn’t one. He asks John where he found the car and he says a campground. June adds that no one there was alive but there still might be hope.
Dwight radios that he always assumed he was just a few steps behind Sherry but now realizes it might be a lost cause. “I’m never going to find her,” he bemoans as he cocks his gun. June tries talking him out of killing himself, saying Sherry is still out there and that he can’t do this to her. Dwight lays down his gun and sobs, telling them he can’t get back to them. John says to leave that up to them.
Morgan catches up with Alicia and Luciana on the road and encourages them to keep trying to contact the kids. Alicia tries radioing them again, this time telling them about losing her mother and how she relates to them. They don’t receive a response, so they head out. Meanwhile, June and John commence Operation Save Dwight. John shoots most of them, leaving Dwight to finally escape. He barely makes it out before being tackled by a walker. On the ground, John tells him to raise his axe, and John shoots it, causing the bullets to split and ricochet, killing three walkers at once. “That’s the San Antonio split,” John says.
That night, John tells Dwight the VIN number from the car doesn’t match the registration, meaning Sherry could still be out there. After, John thanks June for talking Dwight off the ledge and confesses it made him reconsider how he was showing his love for her. Suddenly, Morgan, Alicia, and Luciana arrive and Morgan asks where the hell they are. Dwight walks up and says, “Morgan.” Incredulous, Morgan explains they come from the same place. Dwight explains his mission and tries apologizing for what happened with the Saviors, but Morgan assures him they can talk later. “We’re trying to start over,” Morgan explains. Alicia asks Dwight about the walker barricades, so Dwight takes them to one.
Dwight explains they’re strung up everywhere when suddenly Max radios Alicia. He says they’re headed to where they took them before (the truck stop), so the gang speeds over there. On the way, they find a van stalled on the road. In it, they find Dillon crying in the backseat. Alicia tries calming him and asks where Max and Annie are, but he won’t answer. Somewhere nearby, we see Max and Annie setting up walker blockades. “We’re going to make sure they never ever bother us again,” Max says, as they go over how Dylan won’t bust their cover.
What did you think of Dwight’s crossover into Fear the Walking Dead? Tell us in the comments!

So Max & Annie are outsmarting our heroes? Anyone else not able to believe that? I sure hope whe the dots all connect, it is worth it.
