AMC announced at the 2018 TCA (Television Critics Association) Summer Press that they have renewed Fear the Walking Dead for a fifth season! This comes two weeks before the zombie spin-off returns for the second leg of Season 4 on August 12th. Along with the announcement came the news that AMC would also be renewing Better Call Saul and McMafia.
Fear the Walking Dead has undergone a major makeover since new showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg took over for Season 4. The changes included a multi-year time jump, the death of major characters Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and Nick Clark (Frank Dillane), a crossover with The Walking Dead’s Morgan Jones (Lennie James), and the addition of series regulars John Dorie (Garrett Dillahunt), Al (Maggie Grace), and June (Jenna Elfman). AMC also recently revealed it was adding five additional faces to the back half of Season 4.
Fear the Walking Dead’s fifth season doesn’t have a premiere date yet but expect the new season to drop sometime in the first half of 2019. Catch the rest of Season 4 starting Sunday, August 12th and check out the cast reactions to the exciting news below:
