This week Troy shockingly acted insane and Madison let him off the hook! How did this and other plot points affect our character power rankings? Check out our re-ordered list below:
1. Jeremiah
Jeremiah’s the clear leader of the ranch but the actions of Madison, Troy, and Jake this week might soon undermine him. Troy murdered a family for leaving the ranch, Madison covered it up, and Jake plotted a mission to take revenge on Walker. Despite this, Jeremiah isn’t someone who can easily have the wool pulled over them.
2. Madison
Madison’s cover-up of Troy’s Trimbol murders was highly questionable. Sure, she made a much bigger case for her “Walker is bad and we need to stick together” agenda but at what cost? She just let known psychopath Troy off the hook AGAIN…how many more times will she allow this behavior until something gives? Not long.
3. Walker (+3)
Walker didn’t make an appearance this episode but his presence was very much felt. This was helped by Madison, who painted him as a monster hell-bent on picking off one family at a time until the ranch belongs to him. With this kind of narrative Walker all of a sudden holds even more power over the community than he’s probably aware of.
4. Nick (+3)
Nick knows a lot more about the ranch than most, including Jeremiah’s dark past, Troy’s deadly act against Vernon’s family, and Madison’s cover-up. This kind of knowledge can be held over everyone we just mentioned, and it’s that reason we have him elevated so high in our rankings.
5. Troy (-1)
Troy is crazy. Nick knows that, Madison knows that, and the horse that escaped his attack on Vernon’s family DEFINITELY knows that. This craziness got a family killed over a broken promise to stay at the ranch, and if Madison wasn’t around folks would probably eventually turn against him. He may have gotten off the hook this time, but his rogue decision-making might cost everyone the ranch and their lives.
6. Jake (-3)
Jake’s secret mission to infiltrate Walker’s reservation SEEMS noble but in reality it could get everyone killed, which is why we’re bumping him down. Listen to your girl, dude.
7. Daniel (-2)
Daniel hasn’t been seen since ditching Strand at the hotel so we have to move him down a few spots.
8. Alicia
Alicia holds power because of her influence over Jake, but that doesn’t mean she’s pulling too many strings. If anyone’s going to stop him from getting everyone killed, it’s her.
9. Lola
Like Daniel, we haven’t seen Lola in a minute, but that doesn’t mean she’s gone for good.
10. Strand
Strand has been kicked to the curb more than once this season but if he’s the guy we know him to be, expect a bounce back in the near future.
