War of the Words is a first person shooter based on the concept of a verbal debate re-imagined as actual warfare. The player chooses one of the three classic modes of persuasion, and uses it in an attempt to ‘persuade’ enemies to their way of thinking. Each mode of persuasion is weak to one mode, strong against one mode, and ties with itself, forming an amusing paper-scissors-rock triangle. Press your advantage against enemies who are easily influenced by your arguments while strategically outmaneuvering those who would out-debate you! |

DMMTTCAA is a family road trip simulator. Given that the theme of the jam is “All Out War”, I decided to make a game based on the personal experience I have that is closest to war: long road trips with my brother and sister. The year is 1992. It’s a time before cheap mobile gaming and seat-back television screens, and you’re driving three children home. Do you have what it takes to handle these three terrors? Can you manage their tempers, bladders and appetites without going insane or hitting the ditch? Stop for gas and supplies, or try to speed home? |

Congratulations to all the other finalists, and everyone else who completed a game. It looks like we are in some great company 😉
Well done, all of you. VERY impressed with the overall output. It was tough coming up with these, let alone figuring out the final ten. 🙂
Oh… my game isn’t in the list. Congrats to the finalists.
Congrats folks! Seeing a lot of solid gameplay here. Nice work!
Congratulations everybody, there’s some really cool looking games here! Really like the look of Tanxis, Zombie Command, and Human Shield especially. War of The Words and DMMTTCA have fantastic concepts I’d love to see developed further, and The Narrow Path looks beautifully polished for a game jam game, love their art. Personally it brings back memories of me playing those very first black and white mac games with it’s wonderfully detailed monochromatic pixel art.
Have a soft spot for Remember The Fallen too, they were going for similar sentiment to what we were aiming for (Kieron In The Dark) – gorgeous execution.
Also, who wouldn’t want to see a tiger ravage some zombies? Wouldn’t be surprised to see that pop up in the comic at some point 😉 Genius concept guys!
Congrats to everyone who finished a game or even tried it. That’s the true spirit of jams: making things done. Lots of interesting concepts I’d like to see developed even further. Kudos to everyone who took part in it and good luck to all finalists too!
I had a lot of fun working on Tanxis. Glad to see it made it into the top 19.
I’ll most likely end up working on it further after judging has been done.
You should! All of you! This was a tough selection to put together.
Super excited to play these games, congrats to those who have made it this far and good luck everyone 😉
