We pick right back up at Megan’s house; Mark’s sliced open on the bathroom floor and a possessed Megan is drenched in his blood. Holly and Amber walk in on the horrific scene and run away screaming. Amber frantically calls Kyle for help but Megan finds them and the call drops. Kyle and Reverend Anderson race over to the house, discover Mark’s body, and thankfully find Amber and Holly unharmed in the closet. “She was just like Mommy,” Amber recalls to Kyle.
While Megan seems to sleepwalk through an abandoned football field, Kyle, the Rev, and the kids show up at Giles’ home to explain the situation and ask him to help cover up the murder. “The law will see it however you want to see it,” Reverend Anderson prods. Elsewhere, Aaron breaks into Sidney’s house and asks to help him with The Merge.
Kyle and the Rev use a police radio to help find Megan while while Giles calls in a favor to help clean up the Mark scene. Sidney beats Kyle and Rev to the chase and locates Megan cowering in Kyle’s pantry. “Everything’s going to be OK…welcome,” he affirms as he escorts her into his car. Meanwhile, Aaron carries out Sydney’s errand and breaks into Chief Giles’ house to kidnap Amber.
Later, Kyle and Rev get a call from Giles that Amber’s been kidnapped. Kyle decides to leave Reverend Anderson behind on this mission and search for Amber on his own. He sees Sidney eerily waiting for him on the side of the road. Sidney instructs him to get the trunk of his car if he wants to see his daughter again. Kyle reluctantly complies and is taken to a basement where he’s locked in a room with Amber.
After trailing Sidney, Reverend Anderson locates the basement, bypasses Kat, and breaks the door to Kyle’s room with a crowbar. Ogden immediately attacks him as Kyle finally breaks free. During the struggle, Megan finds Amber hiding in the room, prompting Kyle to set his sights on his own sister. She tries sucking his soul when Amber leaps on her back and causes Megan’s veins to pop. AMBER IS A DEMON WHISPERER TOO! The entity exits Megan and begins circling her until is disappears. Later, Kyle and the Rev take Megan to the police station and reveal Mark has died. She’s devastated. Meanwhile, Reverend Anderson torches Sidney’s trailer and sees someone trapped inside.
The next morning Patricia tells Reverend Anderson that Aaron’s missing (uh oh). He notices Sidney drive by, confirming the man he burned in the trailer WASN’T him. (Was it Aaron? We can only hope). Meanwhile, Kyle and Amber embark on a road trip to find a place where people don’t know about their “superpowers.” They stop at a gas station and notice everyone is staring at them.
So what did YOU think of the Outcast Season 1 finale?? Did you get closure? Do you think Aaron got burned in the trailer? And what’s next for Kyle, Megan, Amber, the Rev, and Sidney?? Give us ALL your Season 2 predictions in the comments below!
I am so in love with this show. Everything about it is great, the storyline, the cast , the actor who plays Kyle is the perfect. I loved the finale. I love the fact that the daughter Amber is the same as Kyle & the gas station scene at the end in intense. I can not wait for more episodes already. This is what I look foward to every Friday.
Intensely riveting edge-of-your-seat suspense, coupled with outstanding acting makes the season finale of Outcast one of the best episodes I’ve seen so far. Thundering applause for Patrick Fugit, Wrenn Schmidt, Philip Glenister and Brent Spiner. But in this episode the shining light is young Madeleine McGraw. I didn’t really feel closure at the end of this episode, it opened up more questions about Kyle’s -and now Amber’s – “gift” and what is really going on in Rome and apparently elsewhere. I do think Aaron was in the trailer, and believe this will seriously impact Rev. Anderson in the way he proceeds with his mission to destroy Sidney. Having to wait for the next season will be filled with re-watching season 1 over and over – to be sure no details are missed.
This was the greatest finale I have seen in years since breaking bad. Like seriously… Touching stuff! And the music was spooky and chillingly great! Love how they remixed the books and left off basically where we are in the books at issue 19ish. And kind of passed the books! So now I can’t wait for the books to see Anderson save the day again!! Just sososososo great
The finale which is kind of a combination of the issue with megan’s possession and issue 19 where kyle is taken by Sydney. It’s different from the comics however because Amber also gets involved. I personally loved the finale for the intenseness and the acting was so on point by everyone, but i prefer the way the storyline flowed in the comics. Megan’s possession, the contniuous trial and error to exorcise her while taking notes about what makes the darkness tick, Then afterwards comes the merge storyline etc. Finale seemed a bit crammed event wise, when i think it should have been crammed revelation-wise, because a lot of questions remain unanswered, dont have to give away all just a bit. Because so many things happened in the finale, none of the explainging happened. If megan’s possession hadn’t been done along with sydney taking kyle (& ber) then we might have had that scene from the comics where kyle was stringing along sydney. The finale felt like it was mostly about kyle saving his daughter, which is fine just not the best idea in my opinion. I really do love the show, and the actors especially & i’m so gutted i have to wait a whole year till next season.
God, I hope Ed Sheeran fucking BURNED in that house! Hated the guy!
But man oh, man. That season was GREAT!
It wasn’t Ed Sheeran, but I know what you mean, although, you have to remember the relationship between Pat and the Rev
Emotional roller coaster. All the hairs on my arms stood up and i had tears in my eyes. This is a absolutely my favourite show. The casting has been amazing and I’ve seen some of the best performances I’ve ever seen. Wrenn Schmidt is an incredible actress and I can’t speak highly enough of what Madeleine McGraw brings to screen. If that isn’t the strongest finale I’ve ever seen then I don’t know what is. I’m a huge fan of the comic and was hopeful that the show would be just as good as the comic and it has definitely exceeded all my expectations. The music, the lighting, the locals, the camera work everything was done perfectly. So excited to see where season 2 takes us. Geuss I’ve got the comic to keep me going until then.
I believe it was Aaron. Although knowing how Kirkman and the producers like to surprise us, I think it would be in their character to make us believe it isn’t what we think it is. I love the show and the increasingly intense lore of the story, but yes, I can openly say I am 99% sure it was Aaron.
