Happy Remembrance Day! It’s the day that honors fallen coal miners that once rattled Rome, but the name carries deeper significance. Before we get to that, this episode picks right back up with Reverend Anderson reeling from Sidney’s savage chest carving. Chief Giles shows up for their famous poker game and grills Ogden on the trailer fire. They all get in a fight the Reverend’s chest starts bleeding, and he’s forced to tell Chief Giles about Sidney.
The next day, Giles (AKA the most trusting police chief since Chief Wiggum) takes Kyle to the burnt trailer and asks if he can help him exorcise a friend (Ogden). Later, Reverend makes up (and out) with Patricia and encounters Sidney at the barber’s shop. He chooses not to retaliate for the night before but asks him to join him for poker sometime.
Meanwhile, Allison experiences more flashbacks to the day she, not Kyle, abused Amber. Allison questions Amber on her picture and why her face is blank; she responds with, “I don’t know which face to draw.” Allison later finds a disturbing drawing in Amber’s closet of her with the black goo coming out of her mouth. All of a sudden, she remembers. Kyle locates Ogden at Remembrance Day and shakes his hand, but nothing happens. Giles was wrong, he’s not afflicted. Megan shows up at Donnie’s hospital to give him the blackmail money to get him out of her life.
That night at the Remembrance Day vigil Ogden admits to the Chief that he DID burn down that camper, but he should look the other way. While lighting a candle Kyle discovers Ogden’s WIFE is affected by his touch. WAIT, so it wasn’t Ogden after all, it was his WIFE that’s afflicted. The town mayor then reveals the Reembrace Day memorial, which has been vandalized by a pentagram identical to the one carved on Reverend Anderson’s chest.
Then, Reverend Anderson seems to completely lose it and explains his demonic experiences to the horrified townspeople. He points at Sidney in the crowd and says, “That man…is the devil!” The Rev rips open his shirt to reveal his pentagram carving and screams, “He did this to me!” as Kyle escorts him away. Poor Reverend Anderson, no one believes him and everyone thinks he’s crazy. Later, Kyle tries to regroup with the Rev and says what he did tonight was not a smart move.
Chief Giles confronts Mark about the dashcam video that Donnie tipped him off on and suspends him. Mark explains the situation to Megan, who’s in complete shock that Donnie went back on his word to her. Elsewhere, Amber tells Kyle she doesn’t want to stay with Allison anymore. Kyle tries explaining it was something else controlling her mom and Amber said she knows and saw it leave her. Now they’re finally on the same page, Kyle and Allison sleep together and prove they’re united again.
Still loving this show… it just keeps getting better & better!
