Kyle Barnes has been plagued by demons all his life. After months of abuse by his possessed mother, Kyle finally stops the reign of terror only to leave her comatose in the process. Years later, he endures a similarly horrific experience with his wife, Allison and daughter, Amber. Kyle arrives home to find Allison, now possessed, attacking Amber. After stopping the attack, Kyle takes the blame and is forced to leave his family He chooses to move back to his childhood home and to sequester himself away from everyone he knows.
Kyle is finally persuaded out of the house at the insistence of his adopted sister, Megan. While outside, he hears about strange happenings in town and eventually joins Reverend Anderson in saving a possessed boy. Kyle learns that he has power over these creatures during the exorcism and, reluctantly, sets out on a quest to find out what evil lurks in town and what it means to be the “Outcast”.
