Mine!
What the dick? Is this cannon?!
Yes.
Oooh, sweet, I loved it ! Totally worth buying it.
I especially loved *who* it was about. Trust me on this one, this is a great idea !
Agree!
Watch the above video 1st before reading.
no spoilers?
No. It’s a good thing!
Oh my God! It was awesome. I really, REALLY hope Claudia will find Rick. Maybe she with that people who talking to Eugene?
Holy. Fuck. Do give it a read guys. If it’s canon, it affects the story DEEPLY…
Can we please see Claudia in the comics guys? I beg y’all!
Also, really like the touch of red on this. It adds a effect on the drama and gore. It would be awesome if in the next big character death they actually did this.
I’ve always been of the opinion that if The Walking Dead comics ever got an animated adaptation, they should do that. Keep it black-and-white but color the blood and guts.
I’m thinking that if Rick does die at some point in the comics, the blood should be red because it would be such a big and dramatic part and seeing the red blood would be something so unique and diverse that it would mark the comics forever.
What happened? Did the bite hit a major vein in the leg or something? Because He died really quickly.
He did die rather quick. But if all those splashes of red were an indication, he lost blood fast. And in those last few panels you could really see the fever set in.
My heart just sank…
What a treat 🙂 Loved it!
Really enjoyed it! Would love to see Claudia show up at some point in the comics.
Please keep him alive and expand on the story I think u guys will make butt loads on this
After all this time wondering if the question would ever be answered here it is. That was a good read. I hope that character shows up in the comics at some point. We need more of those larger than life characters in the comic right now.
Wow… That was one of the best Walking Dead issues I’ve ever read.
um yeah this was fucking great. such a great idea and what a great way to do it. honestly i hope they do a mini spin-off series. idrc if she ever does reach Rick (which honestly wouldn’t be that ridiculous or impossible) but i would love to see a parallel story set in the same universe. as long as its kirkman approved, these guys seem like they can handle a good story. and the demand is already there, after only 24 hours.
or another dope idea would be if he did a series where different pairs of writers and artists got to do single issues like this to tell a story about someone somewhere else during the apocalypse
While I think this was super cool, I personally wouldn’t want TWD stretched out by other writers & was relieved to know that this would only be a one-shot (I do like Vaughan & was waiting on this). Now if Kirman wanted to do his own spin-off, I’d have some reserve but would probably be OK with that… even more so if it was a one-shot years apart.
Agreed. I feel like that’s one of case of “you think you want this but you don’t want this.” Stephen King has talked about this when creating the perfect mystery monsters in his horror novels. Good stories like that invoke a sense of wanting to know more about the subject, yet knowing more would also ruin the story some by removing the elements of mystery from it that make it so terrifying. Same with The Walking Dead. Part of me would love to see what’s going on in the rest of the world. But yet, at the same times, to reveal too much would lessen the effect the main story has. Something about the isolation and charm the main story has would be be diminished if other stories poked more holes in the shadows of the rest of the world. Less is more.
You hit that nail on the head exactly!
This was fantastic! I would love to see Claudia make her way into the main comics, we need a character like her in Rick’s group. I mean, it’s been well over 2 years since the outbreak, it would make sense if she actually made it to the states, wouldn’t it?
This was brilliant, and I’m so glad it’s canon. I can’t wait to see where we go from here.
Hopefully this will make it to print at some point so I can read it.
Why can’t you read the digital?
I like to collect comics, there’s nothing to collect. I guess I’m old fashioned but I want something to put up on my shelf with the rest of my walking dead comics.
I feel ya there… and hoping that this eventually gets its own Special, like Tyreese’s, The Governor’s, & Michonne’s. But you’re saying that you won’t read it at all…EVER… unless it goes to print? Dude, it’s “name your own price”!
I’m the same way with warhammer, can’t tell you how often I go back to look at a twenty year old book for a piece of fluff or a paint job. Not sure how that looks in a digital age, pull out a ten year old tablet to see old files?
A beautiful stand-alone(ish) piece. Wasn’t expecting much, but was blown away. I’m torn between wanting more and thinking more might ruin it. More short pieces by different writers/artists that inform, but don’t interfere, with the comic would be awesome tho!
Does this mean the next issue will be about Alexander Davidson? haha.
I love it ! Thanks for this wonderful story, as walking dead comic fan and Spanish today has been a wonderful afternoon !
What the hell was that, BKV/RK & crew…?!!!! You can’t just put out such a killer oneshot, absolutely dripping with story and characters, like this and call it a day!!! If this doesn’t at least com out as a mini-series of 4-6 books, I am going to get my own halberd and fall upon it….
…. No, seriously… great job guys… and more seriously…. MORE CLAUDIA!!!!
Funny thing is; Kirkman stated on various occasions in the Hacks and other interviews and what not that while Jeff Grimes was mentioned in the early issue of TWD(I think issue #3 maybe, it’s when Lori explains to Donna how she and Rick met); we would never encounter him, he would never be incorporated into the story; and he and Rick would never reconnect. Funny how things change? This actually gives me hope for “The Cutting Room Floor” being finished and released on day! LOL
Great read!
