This week in TWD, Negan’s assault on Alexandria shifts into high gear, with grenades decimating the place. Denise refuses to amputate her arm so she can save Heath, ensuring that she’ll become a walker, Jesus throws a grenade BACK at the Saviors, because that’s what Jesus does, Dwight proves his allegiance to the Survivors, and Maggie shows up with reinforcements, driving Negan off before he can completely destroy the Safe Zone but the damage is done.
Where do the Survivors go from here?
What’s Negan’s next move? He’s clearly feeling pretty good about things.
Dwight’s on our side, right? Or is he playing the REALLY long con?
What’s up with Rick fainting? Too much excitement or something worse?
Below: Give us a comment! The best comment (objectively, not based on votes, Lizzy and I pick, so go ahead and woo us) will get a signed issue of 120 AND the shirt of your choice (subject to availability)!
UPDATE. We’ve said it’s not a popularity contest, but damned if the thought of Rance’s mom dissing Negan’s manhood didn’t make us laugh. Lizzy thinks Rance’s mom is fictitious but Lizzy’s a Cynical Cindy [umm, hello, pot calling the kettle black? -Lizzy]. Congrats, Rance!
Michonne is badass.
sadly, i haven’t read the comics. i do, however, know the story. Negan scares me. the governer was…well…a cyclops. but this guy is out there with two eyes, and it seems as if he has an unlimited supply of grenades. I, for no apparent reason, seem to think that RICK, our show (technically comic) runner, will susseed (i couldnt seem to spell that correctly!) to negans blows in the community. I think carl is becoming a leader, and i think he might step up to the plate. I think that Carl will kill negan. I can just feel the built up hatred between them- and beetween me and the villian. I cant wait, however, to see negan show up in the show. he will ad some more horror- but i hope he waits a little while to show up- man, that last episode was really sad- id be careful with your spacing of villians. i would pick someone who reads th comics. someone who ISN’T a 12 year old. and please, pick someone who deserves it. kudos to ya’ll writers…..i love the show!
THIS ISSUE WAS SO GREAT! Probably my favorite of All Out War so far!
First off it sucks that Denise got bit last issue and its gonna be rough for Heath now that hes missing a leg…Also Jesus was a freaking bad ass throwing those grenades back.
My favorite moments though was when Dwight shot Negan’s men. I cheered out loud. Also I burst out laughing when the guy told Negan he had a full boner. There are not a lot of moments like that in the comic at the moment so when they come up they are great.
Im glad that Maggie is in charge of the Hilltop now so that they can finally get some stuff done without Jesus having to pick up all the slack.
AND FINALLY! I hope Carl is ok now that he is in a room with a bitten Denise…but i have a feeling Carl will be around for a while.
I LOVE THIS COMIC BOOK AND IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Heath losing a leg, Denise losing her arm, Rick already has one hand and Carl has half a face. They should just become a Pirate crew
It’s pretty evident that Rick is dying and Maggie will take over the comic, imho.
So dwight actually is two-faced…
here’s some grenades bro….LOL
yeah, i think he is a bad guy- i dont even read the comics- but from what i hear….yeah, i really dont know….
Just finished 120 and i am stoked! I hope to see how many of these characters appear ifand when they make it to the series! Nice job and thanks for all the asscrack! Hugs and enemas to the merry band of fellow zombie dorks writing this addictive junk. You complete me!
I wrote the second letter with the crack
He said my dick and balls hahahahahah
im 12- and most 12 year olds would find this funny, but please remind me why i should laugh.
No one fucks with Jesus…Amen
Did anyone else get a little confused at the drawing with jesus throwing the grenade? I had to look back at it a couple times and obviously keep reading to figure out that he threw it. At first I though he was the one that blew up and I was like WHHHHHAAAAAA!!?!?!?!?
Righ?! Same here. I was all…whaaaa and stuff for a minute, then I was all oh, OK..and happy
Would really love to see Negan in the TV show, but only if it’s done in a proper hardcore, undiluted version. He’s too badass to leave out of the show and must be presented as the lowest common denominator of mankind as he is, profanity and all!!!
im pretty sure they will tone his mouth down when that comes….
They’d have to move to HBO…!
I can’t help but wonder, has Maggie’s popularity in the TV series, increased her role in the comic books…
That was intense.
Not to spoil it for those who haven’t read it (who, really, shouldn’t be in this discussion yet anyway), but it just became clear that someone showing up on a cover that hasn’t hit stands yet doesn’t make them ‘safe.’
And the way this book is going, I’d almost bet that we say good-bye to both Rick and Andrea before the end of this arc.
Oh, and the ‘skinny arm’ holding Lucille on the cover of #126? My money’s now on that being Maggie.
I also think its Maggie holding Lucille. I want her or Sophia to kill Negan. I know Glenn was Maggies husband so of course it would make sense that she kills him. However, how bad ass would it be for Sophia to kill him. Talk about character development. Sophia needs some. I dont know about you guys but I always thought of how Maggie felt when Glenn bit the dust. How Sophia felt crossed my mind but I didnt give it much more thought until recently. Maybe it effected her more than it showed. I also agree in that we could possibly see the death of Rick. Kirkman said after 126 it would be a different walking dead. That in itself makes me think that Rick and Andrea or at least one of those two will die. Possibly changing to Carl and bad ass Sophia leading a group.
Just some thoughts. 😉
You just finished the latest issue of The Walking Dead comic and realize you have nothing better to do now but wait for the next one..
Come on Feb 12th!!
Seriously, cliffhangers! agh!
really not expecting much out of the next issue or two…just ground work for this “War Finale”…Denise likely dies in the next issue…I expect to find out that there are more Kingdom survivors, also in next issue…
You do realize that the show comes back before the next issue.
AMEN!
Even though I am a girl, that issue made my dick hard! hahaha. Lucille 2… No but for real. Holy freaking shit!!! That was crazy, intense, AWESOME!!!
I really hope Dwight is on our side even though he is a douche for killing Abraham! (I’m wearing my Abraham shirt at the moment. lol. I love him. 🙁 )… That Issue rocked so much!! Can’t believe we gotta wait for Feb 12th now! What the hell happened to Rick?!?! Crazy crazy stuff! Man Heath’s leg. :/ And I stated on some Walking Dead page that Dr. Denise with one arm wouldn’t help that much… Kind of funny she said it… Crazy she didn’t get it cut off even though it’s not even a 50-50 chance she’d survive it… just to save Heath.. I know they were dating, but damn. Sucks. They really can’t afford to lose a great dr. like her. It was awesome that Maggie came to help! I’m still really worried about her and the baby, though. I really really want to see little Glenn/Maggie baby. I still miss Glenn a lot.. Ah man, there is a lot more I could type, but I’m gonna stop here. haha.
ahhh yeah! I love that Maggie is in charge of The Hilltop.. Screw Gregory..
Agreed Maggie has really been impressive lately.
Even Maggie is not sure she is in charge – don’t think you have seen the last of Gregory.
Gregory is a bitch !!!!!!
I agree that we’ll see him again.. but finally he will die for only worrying about himself and being a pussy.
Don’t be surprised if he throws the gates of Hilltop wide open for the Saviors, and they attack from behind the walls before All Out War concludes
He probably will, too, that dick!
And who is to stop him. Maggie maybe in charge of the people FROM Hilltop who came with her, but who is in charge AT Hilltop right now?
Denise is a saint I’m going to miss her .
that’s like the 15th doctor or nurse that died .so far i think lol..
Mental note in the zombie apocalypse if you are a doctor you are going to die. Someone in the medical field must have pissed Kirkman off
lol!
It does suck that they are losing Denise… She’s a great doctor.
The fact that she knows she is going to go makes it sadder to me, she loved Heath too much to see him die 🙁 But seriously Mr. Kirkman what do you have against Doctors and health care workers? They are either shot in the face, zombie kibble or in the TV show die off from infection. Without medical staff there is no hope guess that is just being reinforced :p
What If Denise attacks Heath and Carl when she turns?
Exactly what I was thinking. Why did Rick leave Carl with (almost) walker Denise?
I’m not sure.. If carl dies, I’m not sure I’ll know what to do with myself.
Definitely the best chapter of All Out War to date!
First off, Jesus always finds a way to pull of his ninja skills always at the right time. He’s of course the only one of the survivors that would think to catch and throw back a grenade.
Dwight finally backed up his words with a few well placed shots through the skulls of Negan’s men. I still don’t trust him quite yet but he’s sure on his way at least. That cover coming up with him pointing his crossbow at the back of Rick seems a little sketchy though.
My favorite part of this chapter was definitely when Rick went to get Carl and Andrea in the house and gather them to safety. Did anyone else see the huge resemblance between that scene and the prison scene where Rick went to get Lori, Carl and baby Judy, telling them they needed to get to the bus? I couldn’t help but get chills knowing something horrendous was about to happen. And right then,..BAM! Grenade! Followed by what looked like Carl’s final demise.
Maggie finally shows up with reinforcements exactly at the right time to scare off the Saviors..for now. Maybe Rick took some shrapnel? Or maybe it was just too overwhelming
Finally, it leaves off with Negan thinking he has just won. The main reason the Governor had his downfall was because he let his ego get the best of him. Now we see Negan doing the same. Will this also be what brings an end to Negan? Stay tuned kiddos!
its a great post- i think you will win- but carl couldnt die in this one- in the 126 spoiler cover, carl is like the main guy on it- so i dont think he is dead
I appreciate your thoughts. I also don’t think Carl could die yet in this story. I’m sure I’m not the only one who sees Carl as probably the only SAFE character. That’s why I think Kirkman likes to have more “close call” scenes with Carl than any other character.
For a moment though Kirkman got me again as I really thought Carl was about to die. If you remember when they were escaping the prison, Rick turned back to see Lori shot in the chest by a shotgun blast while holding Judy when they all were headed for the bus that was their escape plan. Well, same thing here. As Rick, Carl and Lori 3, (A.K.A. Andrea) were running away from the firefight, (or grenade shower in this case,) Rick once again looked back only to see Carl this time was the one behind him looking lifeless on the ground. Very similar scene, and I actually really enjoyed the similarities between them.
I also feel that Carl is safe. I feel he is the one character that will not be killed off. It is likely I am wrong, but I foresee big things for my guy Carl. I am surprised you mentioned nothing about Denise! Her actions at the beginning of the issue are why this series is so great. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things. I thought her selfless actions at the start are what epitomize this series.
Great point! I couldn’t agree more. Trust me, I could have easily written another 5+ paragraphs easily, just didn’t want to make it toooo long. Denise had probably her biggest scene here. (other than when she saved Carl arguably.) She just wasn’t a big character at all in the series before now, and every other character I mentioned I felt was a lot more vital to the series. (Again, other than saving Carl.) But I do like your thoughts on her actions. This series is definitely all about the walking dead, and not zombies whatsoever, but the people left in this world that are the true walking dead. How they survive, cope, and deal with the horrendous situation the apocalypse has brought about. We see so many different sides of the spectrum from “good” to “evil,” and seeing how there is still come aspects of civilization and humanity is what gives the characters and us…hope. So yes, her actions were very admirable.
Some* not come.
A.J.
You are right. This is up there with saving Carl and I enjoy how Kirkman allows ordinary people to be extraordinary. Also, as you said, it is a zombie series, but the reason it is so successful is because it is a human drama. I often compare it to Battlestar Galactica when I try to convince friends to start reading.
UTMahoo, I’ve never heard of the comparison to Battlestar. Hmm, interesting comparison.
It’s a shame how they show those covers..
I like being in suspense..
Not knowing anyone is safe..
Not knowing Rick or andrea can die..
By the way..
That full 2 page pic of andrea rick and carl was awesome..
“THE SURVIVORS”
“WE DONT DIE!!!!”

See, I actually really like how they show the covers. You’d think it’s a spoiler but not really. I mean many times now the covers you see show something completely different then what you expect will happen. Also, they give you a slight idea about what will happen that chapter. I’m all for them being released several months in advance.
As for what will come next, I think Negan will regroup and attack the hilltop next. Probably also consider burning it to the ground. Or, maybe he’ll get too overconfident and try to strike Alexandra again, in a fuck, fucking, fuckity full power attack with all of his manpower.
As for our heroes, I think as soon as Rick comes out of his blackout he will regroup as fast as possible. I doubt he’ll worry about repairing and fixing Alexandra till after the war is over. There’s no time to rebuild during war after all . I have a feeling Rick will come up with a great plan to outsmart Negan in the next battle, of course with the help of newly acquired Maggie green and her Hilltop army. I do wonder how much damage, if any, was done to the Sanctuary from the first attack. If so, Rick and company will definitely use that to their advantage. I do know however that our survivors won’t just sit back and let their community get blown up as it did without striking back.
I have a feeling Jesus will lead a small task force and try to infiltrate the Sanctuary and attack from the inside and raise some hell.
I’m so happy that the new issue is now out! But now I have to wait till next month.
I loved this issue, but my favorite part would have to be when Maggie saves the day. I’m also happy that Jesus didn’t die. THe only downer to this issue is that the doctor is infected and Carl is in danger.
I think Rick has some inner ear damage from the explosions. Dwight was pretty awesome this issue, but I want to see him put a few rounds in the back of Negan’s head, but I don’t quite think that would do it justice. Negan needs to die in a truly horrendous way.
Denise is a great character. Heath freaking blew his leg off, and while she is bitten by a damn zombie, she rushes to go help Heath. She ends up fixing him up but by that time she is way TOO FAR GONE. (See my reference there?) I also think Negan is Bipolar. If you don’t know what that is, it basically means that you have mixed emotions at different times, like mood swings. He is talking to one of his men about how hard his erection is and his soldier replies about his just to please Negan. Instead Negan looks towards him in a hostile way. Also with Carl, he kinda showed compassion towards him when he made Carl cry. Everything else aside, this issue was awesome, and Negan is a sadistic asshole.
negan definitely declared victory premature. that might be the biggest misstatement since president bush declared “mission accomplished”.
Rick passed out…AGAIN!?
I hope this issue shuts up anyone saying this story arc is “dull”….Issues like this one make me love that i am a fan of this franchise and and its characters. Maggie’s development in to a leader had me speechless, Dwight finally showing signs of a being a “Survivor” and not a “Savior” made me cheer for the bastard, The love between Heath and Dr. Cloyyd and the lengths they were willing to go for each other made me get super emotional, Seeing Negan in his True Element and loving every fucking second of it, the scene of Andrea Carl and Rick running away together made me truly appreciate that these 3 are still alive and are future of this world if they survive, and of course an all out war issue wouldnt be complete without a scene of Jesus being “Da Jesus”.
So i guess the unthinkable was ASZ falling to negans “Scorched Mother Fucking Earth” policy?? I think there is more to it….. Just praying that Negan isn’t paying a visit to the Mullet!
Best issue of the arc so far. Glad im along for the ride!
Negan is brilliant! ! Best villain ever! He is nuts hahaha. His monologue about Lucille two made me burst out laughing. I would read a whole comic of Negan just mouthing off! LONG LIVE NEGAN!!
That was hilarious it was funny how his comrade tried to chime in
Yes, was like trying to get in with the school bully! LONG LIVE NEGAN!
Carl left with Denise! Opps! !
I’m looking forward to see how Heath handles all that just happened to him and Denise .
Okay, so we all know that the bite kills you because of high fever, blood loss etc… and
the bite probably infects you because it’s given by dirty rotten disease-filled walkers, but Holly was (probably) killed only a day or two (if not less) before she got to Alexandria and bit Denise, which means she’s relatively clean and (probably again) yet to be filled with diseases and other infecting sh*t, so if she treats herself well (antibiotics etc) she may live? hope I didn’t spoil any future plans *wink*

I don’t think so. Someone immune to walkers bites would ruin the fun, and you must remember that at beginning of zombie apocalypse there where only “fresh” zombies. I think that she will be curing people injured from grenades till she “unexpectedly” die, turn to the zombie mode and bite some of her patients. I’m pretty sure she will die. It’s a shame, because I liked her and losing a doctor is a big thing/
It’s not that Denise is immune to zombie bites, it’s the idea that with antinbiotics and medical treatment a bite witch is relatively clean may be treated (at least when the zombie that bit is what you can call “fresh” and relatively clean) but still I know it’s not likely.. 🙁
RIP Denise
It’s not that Denise is immune to zombie bites, it’s the idea that with antibiotics and medical treatment a bite which is relatively clean may be able to be treated (at least when the zombie that bit her is what you can call “fresh” and relatively clean) You have to remember that what kills all these people is the “Zombie Pathogen” which is probably a bacteria not a virus, and because it’s (probably) a bacteria antibiotics can weaken it and kill it, but still I know it’s not likely..
RIP Denise
I loved this issue!! Negan is such a badass!! Maggie was awesome leading the group to save Rick I would really like to see Maggie end up the same on the show! I think everything has just been a lot for Rick he has been out trying to mess with Negan and then the attack and Carl getting hurt is just to much for Rick right now. I can’t wait for the next issue I hope they end up going to the kingdom. I think Dwight is on Rick’s side for now
Kirkman’s scripting of Negan makes me root for “the bad guy” every issue and I seriously hope after All Out War he’s still standing. The book wouldn’t be as enjoyable without him. Face it, Rick is a whiny pussy
Yeah… No… He does what he needs to in order to survive and protect his family while fighting a war with a sociopath and leading a community full of stressed out individuals. “Whiny pussy”? If you have the mentality of 14 year old then maybe.
“You know what… NEVER MIND. BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! I had a feeling Dwight was going to make a big imapct in this war. Jesus was pretty bad ass too, catching that grenade and tossing back. Negan was just hilarious too. “It’s like being a double amputee at a peep show. I’m just sitting here trying to figure out how to suck my own dick.” I am really looking forward to seeing him die but I’m going to miss all his cursing and the funny things he says. It was great seeing Maggie leading the people from The Hilltop, she looked super hot doing it too. Negan may have won this battle but this All Out War is far from over.
After reading each issue of “The Walking Dead” comic my Mom
gets to read it as soon as I get finished. I couldn’t wait to see her
reaction when Negan was talking about his “massive” erection. (She has a habit
of talking out loud while reading certain parts). When she read this part she
said, “Why do I read these comic books, Negan needs to shove Lucille up his ass
already!”….then being as blunt as she always is, she said,”you know why he
carries his big bat around, because his dick is probably the size of a Popsicle
stick!” THANKS A LOT Robert Kirkman, like I want to hear my Mom talk like this!
Lmfao! 😀
I want someone to shove Lucille up his ass!! hahaha. Even if only for what he did to Glenn. I need his death to be just as brutal.
followed
Wow your mom’s a genius, if Negan gets taken out any other way besides Lucille getting shoved up his ass I will be thoroughly disappointed!
That would be a horrible way to go!
Another great issue loved the banter between negan and davis.Jesus throwing back the grenade was sick. Was wondering when dwight would help the rick and co. and loved seeing maggie in charge.
Wow! Was NOT expecting that Heath would get his leg blown off!
I love this comic book! It has ruined other books for me, you never know what to expect!
I hope they explain how Holly died! Did he do it TV Governor style? (When he killed Milton and left him in the room to turn and kill Andrea.)
Can’t wait for the next issue!
Great issue ! Love where All out War is at its mid way point.
As if we really needed anymore reason to hate/love Negan.
Can’t wait till Maggie with the help of Lucille finally destroys this
Fuckiddy Fuck.
First let me say, I am not worried about Rick…he is the main character of this series…his issue is exhaustion maybe…I am not overly concerned…
Good action packed issue, the Negan rants are entertaining…
Dwight really came through…no doubt who’s side he is on now…
Maggie did not come to fight, she brought children…but certainly, her timing was good…
Jesus, quick thinking throwing grenades back at them…
Many things came together, to limit the damage of this battle…then Negan lacked the balls to go inside the gates…and finish the job…
Negan talks the talk…but didn’t walk the walk…to head inside those gates to see what was really happening…he was pleased just to hear screams and see smoke…
So Nagen wins this battle, yes…but the war is far from over…
Where do the survivors go from here? Likely to the Hilltop community…and regroup…
Carl does not appear to be too injured…but we are gonna lose Denise from the bite…likely, Carl is gonna be there to handle that situation when she turns…
Anyone else wondering exactly how Maggie and the Hilltop residents actually got to the Alexandria Safe-Zone in the first place? If I recall correctly, it took Rick, Jesus and co. about a day to DRIVE there in “A Larger World” and I didn’t see anybody driving cars in this new issue. Hopefully we’ll get some answers in the next issue, but to be honest, I’m kind of disappointed with Part One of this so-called “All Out” War. Very weird pacing, checkered storytelling, and to be honest I find Negan’s typical douchebag dialogue to be getting tiresome. I mean, come on. Here is a man who fancies himself a God, a psychotic leader of a new, dreadful world where his and ONLY his word is law. On the other hand, we have Rick, who has always tried his best to uphold some form of the “Old-World Order” in a world gone completely awry. Negan sees Rick as a little man, and took every opportunity he could to bully and humiliate him prior to “All Out War.” He has constantly underestimated Rick from day one. But then, suddenly and unexpectedly, this man happens to gain the upper hand and kill (what has got to be) a large percentage of the Saviors. When I finished 119 I thought, “Here it is. He finally fucking snapped. Whatever Negan did to make it out of the Sanctuary, he’s different now. Smarter now. More evil now. Ready to take Rick a little more seriously now.” But no. Just more dick jokes. I dunno about you guys, but so far it seems like Kirkman is phoning this one in. I’m really hoping to see something incredible in the next 6 issues or I may just have to put this book down for a while.
I’d like to think Paul (Jesus) was some sort of Black Ops soldier before the zombocalypse. He is so invaluable to everyone’s survival because he is obviously very agile, and more adept at close quarters combat than any of the Saviors (or any of the Survivors, for that matter.)
But I always thought it was both funny and brilliant of Kirkman to introduce this dude who kicks more ass than anybody (with the possible exception of Michonne, of course) and have everybody call him Jesus.
But the reason isn’t religious at all.
The only reason people call him Jesus is because he’s got long hair and a beard!
It’s so funny because EVERYBODY knows that one guy with long hair and a beard.
The one everybody calls Jesus even though that’s not his real name.
This one just happens to be ex-CIA or something.
Kirkman is a master in the art of trolling.
I agree, Jesus must have had some type of formal training…wondering if that is ever going to be revealed…
Poor Heath. When I saw his leg I almost screamed!!! Why Kirkman!WHYYYY
LUCILLE TWO!! I can’t have been the only Arrested Development fan laughing to themselves when they read that.
This issue had everything, people saying that this answered the doubters for the arc are correct. Seeing Alexandria in ruins made it clear that the book is going to be very different once the war is over.
Seeing nearly all of the main characters involved in the same issue made it even stronger. I’m hoping Negan lost a few fans this issue also. I worry we may never find out how he flipped with regards to Holly but it only adds to his psychosis and strength as a villain.
I want to see Maggie kill Negan but I think it’s too obvious.
Is #121 out on the 5th or the 12th of Feb, letter hacks said two weeks which would make it the 5th but I’m sure the schedule said the 12th?
I have a feeling Dwight is the real mastermind behind the saviors.
MY DICK AND BALLS ARE HUNGRY FOR DEATH MUHAHAHAHAHAHA
That was so hilarious
It’s
brilliant the way Denise is not bit but needs to be there to help Heath. Soon
they will forget she was bitten and when she turns she’ll be able to bite quite
a few people before they realize what’s happening.
RIP Heath’s leg
What a breath taking issue! Never have I felt so much emotion from TWD. Seeing our Characters home being destroyed was so hard hitting.
Watching Heath get hit by a grenade had such an impact on me that I closed my eyes as if I had been there myself . It was like watching injured troops returning from Iraq or Afghanistan we give them our respects for the heroes they are but feel there pain. Like any other hero Heath’s only thought is for Denise and not himself,
There is real love between them and her reaction to sacrifice herself for him was so moving. Many of us have thought they might be together out of convenience but like Aaron and Eric, it was real, we see it in there eyes and feel there loss and desperation.
The only thing they have in this cold hard and brutal world has now been taken away from them as there home the place we all have and feel safe in is falling around them. As if that wasn’t bad enough we have a possibly injured Carl and Heath with an “about to turn walker Denise”.
Maggie’s arrival sure stopped a full scale invasion and it buys them time to regroup but the loses are mounting and Negan is winning the war right now. While Rick collapsing is similar to Alexandria, it has us down, Hurting and wondering if there is a way back. Finally Negan laughing as we see the smoke rise and fires blazing and commenting how there is no fire truck or EMT’s or any form of help make the fall of Alexandria so much more chilling and brings this epic issue to an amazing close.
Oh and Jesus lobbing a grenade back? Best panel since the hunters took a munch on Dales infected leg.
Definitely my favorite chapter of All Out War yet!! I have such mixed feelings on Dwight because Abraham was my favorite character in the comic but I also want Dwight to come through and actually be on the Survivors side. Also, it seems like every time I see Jesus he just keeps getting more and more badass! Negan is a fantastic villain and I would love to see some of his background story revealed. Fantastic issue, fantastic comic. The best part of All Out War is the increased release schedule and I would love to see it continue beyond All Out War so I can get all the Walking Dead awesomeness twice a month! Keep up the great work!
Im really hoping that they make novels based on the rise fall and the the life of negan like they did with the governor. Please!!!!!!!
Kirkman said in letter hacks that’s there’s no plans for that yet…..however not to rule it out. I hope they make those too. I loved the novels even though fall of the governor part one disappointed me a little but I’ll save total judgement for after I read part 2.
Dwight is so awesome. He also has every reason to hate Negan and be on Ricks side. I cheered out loud when he shot those saviors he was with.
There’s no denying it: Negan has definitely overtaken Andrea as my favourite character.
His foul-mouthed monologues make the perfect counterpoint to the chaos going on in Alexandria. It’s a shame Davis was such a short-lived character, Negan could kinda use a stammering yes-man henchman to play off his own badassery. Alas.
The cover art is pretty damn awesome too, by the way, even if Michonne didn’t play an overly large part in the issue. I gotta say though, I can’t really blame Rick for passing out after all that- to be honest I’m surprised there aren’t more people having fainting fits right now. Anyway, here’s hoping Negan doesn’t get killed off anytime soon.
I was surprised with the comments Negan was making…basically, he wished he could see the screams, not just hear them…well, why didn’t he…why just toss grenades over the wall and call that a victory? IMO, he is a coward…so your favorite character is a coward?
The idea was to burn the place down and destroy it. As in, it’s all on fire. I wouldn’t be charging in there and getting my people killed, either. 😛
You know, I don’t remember ever seeing Negan with a gun in hand, yet he still always leads from the front. In #119 we see him standing on the front of a bus in full view of the walls, in #115 he’s out on that balcony shouting at them as the shooting starts, and there have been plenty of other instances in issues I don’t have handy at the moment.
Not sure where you’re getting the “coward” vibe from.
…Now that I think of it, there aren’t really any notable cowards left, except maybe Gregory. I guess it’s partly that all the main characters are the ones with the guts to stand up and lead, etc., but maybe cowards just don’t live terribly long in this setting.
suppose it comes from my military background (my thoughts of Negan being a coward)…grenades are a military tool, yes? So who the the United States Armed Forces send into battle first? The United States Marines…when do they do this…after the Air Force bombs the crap out of a place…well, Negan has no Air Force…so he tosses a few grenades…a few get tossed back…he takes some cover fire…and he runs away…claiming victory, correcting his own man who called it a retreat…now, I will give him credit, and call this battle a victory…but he did retreat…and he had to retreat because he did not have the balls…to back up his hard on…to finish the job…so, yes…I call him a coward…
I don’t think the Saviours exactly count as equivalent to the US Marines… especially since Negan’s jacket is probably the closest thing they have to body armour.
Ah well, I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree. 🙂
I would not be surprised if we learn Paul Monroe aka Jesus was a United States Marine or Special Forces at some point…he clearly has some type of training…now there is a man to respect and call a hero…
Jesus… is such a badass, prob my fav character, I wish he were in the spotlight more!
I’ve always said what I love most about The Walking Dead is the changing personalities and dynamics of the characters. 65 issues ago, Maggie Greene attempted to kill herself. Now, she’s leading a group of people into battle. The hardening she has gone through following the death of her family, and recently, her husband, is extremely tragic. However, the place she is at now is inspiring. Maggie Greene is a beautiful example of how someone can come back from a dark, suicidal state to become a true hero.
True and she’s doing it all while pregnant which is really inspiring
What I loved with this issue was how strong Denise is. I love that The Walking Dead, while it is a Ricktatorship, allows for such strong female characters. Well done Mr. Kirkman.
I read somewhere that Kirkman likes to give honorable deaths to favorable characters. Sgt. Abraham was my favorite character and he went out so sudden and unexpectedly. I love how he changed it up and just killed him off like that. It was a nice twist and crushed me at the same time. I wonder what drove Kirkman to do that. I also might have answered my own question. Anyway, to get to the point, when Jesus jumped for the grenade, I got so scared. I didn’t want him to go out like that being he is one of my favorite characters. I also feel like there is more to his story that we don’t know yet and there’s a lot more you can do with him. I am really excited to see where this goes.
Why does the cover of issue 122 show Heath with two legs? Does he become a cyborg? Heath the million dollar man with a bionic leg?
I was wondering the same thing .
It’s most likely because Charlie Adlard draws the covers months in advance and Robert Kirkman didn’t plan or forget to tell Charlie about his plans for Heath’s leg. Unless of course Health becomes a cyborg like my original thought…
My guess is that they didn’t want to spoil the fact that Heath gets his leg blown off by putting it on the cover. It’s just to cover up the events of this issue probably.
With the pace of “All Out War”, the issue with Dwight on the cover did not even include Dwight.
But if you really want to believe it is all planned out, look at his legs, the way the pants sit, is not quite right. Is there a clue there?
We finally discovered Jesus’s pre-apocalypse occupation as a hot potato champion!
Hang on a minute… in the panel just before Heath gets his leg blown off, is that Olivia running along just behind him? Was Olivia caught in the blast, too? :O
Also I kinda doubt things are going to go well for Dwight. He somehow survives unscathed and makes it out whilst his whole squad is dead? I don’t think Negan’s gonna buy that.
Olivia’s still alive. She’s shown talking to Jesus later in the issue.
Oh, right. Derp. Thanks!
Guess I missed that bit amidst all the explosions. 😛
I honestly think that the walking dead is a lost chapter from the bible.
for goodness sake, there is a guy in it named Jesus. i think it is the post rapture chaper (hehe that rhyms) and maybe negan is the devil- he sure seems to like death and and fire. i think rick will have a christ-like death, and sacrifice himself- i think he fainted cause he is a wimp- not because he just died. i think carl might betray him. i mean, i love that kid, but i dont doubt him turning on his dad. (and not as a walker!) but i think it is far more possible that daryl-like dwight will turn on rick. if rick does die, than i think michonne will be a new mother to carl.
i think that heath is gonna get mad when denise dies, and he will somehow kill negan.
but i also believe it will be carl to kill the villian. who wouldnt want to kill negan?
Very sad to see Denise headed toward Walkerdom. She’s going to be a huge loss for Rick and Co. Can’t wait to see Negan’s smile ripped from his face when Maggie shoves Lucille directly up his ass. Good stuff Kirkman, and the artwork and shading is just stellar Adlard and Guadiano!
Let’s be honest. We all thought Michone was gonna die.
Great issue with nades! Personally I think that killing Negan off would be a huge bummer. He makes one of the best antagonists I have ever seen and strangely he is the stark opposite of Rick. Rick believes in democracy, (but ultimately has the final say), whereas Negan is the ultimate dictator and rules with force through ‘rules’. Rick and Negan can have a feud for 50 more issues in my opinion.
lets see a great buddy comedy Neagan and Daryl
The more I read about Jesus the more I like him
My walking dead zombie squad. Negan,Merle,Daryl,Jesus,Rick and the Governor can you imagine that?
I knew Lucille was a jelous bitch I knew it I knew it HA!
It was so funny for Davis to look at Neagan and chime in like he did. Neagan was like what the fuck?
I can honestly say my lower region has never ever been hungry for death.
Not into necrophilia, then? 😛
Full Boner!!!!!!!!!!!!
Full boner ? The fuck are you talking about, Davis ?
After I read Negans rant about his boner it made me go and take a shower and call a support hotline to make me feel not so dirty.
A epic way to take out Neagan. Negan and Rick are going toe to toe and Negan is getting the best of Rick. Negan has Rick down and is about to bash his head with Lucille when out of nowhere Negan goes down and some one is standing over him and says. Bet you were wondering if I was real proabaly hoping I wasn’t. Well, here I am. I guess this old world gets a little smaller toward the end huh? Ain’t so many of us left to share the air with, right?
You see fear in Negans face as he crawls to get Lucille.
Negan says. Fuck fuck fuck your dead your dead I killed you
The man steps on Lucille and says
Easy does it junior mines a whole lot bigger than yours.
He puts a gun to Negans head and pulls the trigger. He looks at Rick and says look like you owe me one officer friendly
Last panel shows MERLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved issue #120 but the “close call Carl” bit is getting old…I’d either like to see them off the kid or let him live up to his full terminator potential and wreak some real havoc. We’ve got teases of it (like his attack on the saviors earlier) but let’s have the little one eyed twelve year old go full blown psycho and really bring the pain.
So Maggie has other skill besides having sex and hanging herself.
And filling entire splash panels with short sentences. >.>
So Negan must die obviously. Wouldn’t this be the best way to bring in the Dixon Boys and have Daryl do it?
No….just no.
I was thinking this too…wouldn’t it be cool…if the TV show influenced some comic characters…
The only thing better than this issue, would be getting a SIGNED copy of it. Fu*kin A, It’s got it all! How bout carl the Fu*king Invincible!!! I swear that kid should’ve died like 1000 times already! The Doc shruggin’ off the bite LIKE A FU*KING BOSS to save yet another amputee! Viva La Maggie! And let me say this without swearing so you can understand just how serious I am….This is the best arch in this comic so far. Negan is taking the top spot in the Evil hall of fame. I cannot believe AOW is only half way over and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Now send my fat ass a signed comic Kirkman you Genius Fuck.
Amongst the chaos of this war between the saviours and the survivors, with death littering the battlefield around them, perhaps could there be a new strain of hope? I mean aside from the many deaths of various people, could there be a way out or a way to exploit the virus?
Denise was bitten by a walker that had not previously deceased by ordinary means (infection by bite) but was killed by a survivor. Perhaps since Holly had died recently and had not had much time to rot she was relatively “cleaner” than the other zombies. Maybe even Denise could discover this and may be able to exploit this and create immunity to bites in the future? This could make the series really quite interesting.
Megan’s view on destruction:
“Fuck fuck fuckedy fuck….
GRENADE.”
I’m commenting with my eyes crossed because I lost my payroll card and have to wait until Wed. for a new one so I can buy the newest issue. At the same time though, I really want the chance to win a signed copy and a Sanctuary t-shirt!
If Negan’s comrade said “His dick was a full boner” right before he died,i think he took the term “die hard” a little too serious.
It’s all fun and grenades until the token black guy loses a leg.
WOW! Issue 120 did not disappoint. It got my brain working overtime on all the possible outcomes that could happen. First off I have to say that JESUS is AWESOME! That scene where he catches the grenade in mid-air and quickly tosses it back over to the enemy was impressive. He is a person Rick can really depend on to protect the group and I hope he does not die! (But I have a feeling he will) Issue 120 also showed us which side Dwight is on…for now. Dwight kills Negan’s men and gives Jesus the grenades to give to Rick so they can use them against Negan but I believe that this could be a ploy to gain Rick’s choice so he can destroy the Survivors, the Hilltop, and the Kingdom from the inside. Dwight reminds me of Harvey Two-Face. As a reader we do not know if he is a good guy or a bad guy. Right now it’s a toss up, anything can happen. Who knows, Dwight may deploy his own kind of “justice” like Two-Face, and kill everybody on both sides. I have a feeling though that Dwight will have to prove to Negan which side he is on and have to kill a captured prisoner, maybe Jesus, Andrea, or Carl so that he can pretend that he’s on Negan’s side so that he can kill Negan when he least suspects it. Now let’s all not forget that Rick left an injured Carl with an infected Denise!!!! Rick was so distracted with the fight that he forgot that Denise could turn in any moment. In the the picture you can see Denise sweating profusely, waiting to turn and take a bite out of Carl. On a different tangent I noticed that Robert Kirkman like to take out a lot of character’s eyes like the Governor, Abraham, and Carl. With Carl missing an eye, Rick is constantly being reminded of the Governor and how he killed his wife and infant daughter. Carl symbolizes the innocence and the vengefulness of humanity and is a brilliant and creative idea by Mr.Kirkman. With Maggie as a new strong “leader” of the Hilltop, I believe that Rick and his group will now have a better chance on taking down The Saviors. It would be sweet justice if Maggie was the one to kill Negan. In the last scene Negan tells his soldier that they won but I believe that his over confidence and cockiness will be his downfall. We see Rick fall to the ground because of all the craziness that just happened but he will Rise once again and be the leader that his community needs. DESHI DESHI BASARA BASARA!!!!!!!
Something I found interesting regarding Dwight…he WAS attacking the safe zone…until Paul Monroe (Jesus) threw one back…when Dwight suggested they hold the grenades longer before throwing them…and got a bonehead response…THEN, it was like a switch went off in his head…and he said screw this…and changed sides…
The survivors will survive, Negan will cus somebody out while he beats the blood and guts out with Lucille, Dwight will get the girl(yummy), and as for the badest shireff ever, he rebounds and keeps Carl and himself safe with Michonne as a back up plan.
Masterpiece ! I was driven insane in suspense of flipping the page !
This is one to remember ! First two pages Denise gets bitten a zombified Holly shot and Heath loses a leg
I can’t FUCKING wait the issue 121, I”M THIRSTY
Maggie continuing to take charge as a leader. No, wait…Maggie taking charge as a leader WITH unflattering pants, a collared shirt, an odd hair cut, and a fat, pregnant belly.
With Negan’s rant about Lucille and Lucille 2, I’m Kirkman has time to fire up the Netflix and watch Arrested Development. It can’t be comics all the time.
o.k., been a few days since I read this now…some points to ponder:
1) What really happened to those members of the Kingdom that never made it to the safe zone…the ones who scattered…are they really dead? (I don’t think they are dead)
2) Eugene was making ammo…if a grenade hit that building…I am sure we would have known about it in this issue…that did not happen…so the damage to the safe zone, does not appear to be as bad as Negan thinks it is…
3) Dwight was attacking the safe zone…til Paul Monroe aka Jesus…threw one back…he makes a comment, giving a, still attack the safe zone type command, then when he gets a bonehead response…something clicks…and he switches sides…
so, with those points to ponder and think about…here is what I expect…
The survivors will regroup right there in the safe zone…with members that they thought were lost from the Kingdom (I think they will show up alive…) and the Hilltop arrivals…
Once Eugene has compiled enough ammo…the survivor’s will launch a new offensive…from the safe zone…
While I do not think Dwight can be trusted, I think he plays a key role in Negan’s demise…
We have 6 issues to deal with this war before it ends…but the end result of this war…will surely be the demise of Negan…the big question, who gets to bash his brains in…my money is on Maggie…just the way it has to be…
The ammo press (or whatever it is called) wasn’t in Alexandria, it was in a building nearby that Eugene had scouted out.
The equipment was apparently too heavy to move closer.
Thanks, I did not know that…which issue was that revealed? I must have overlooked that…
Eugene and Abraham were walking there in Issue 98 when Abraham was killed. 🙁
Eugene mentions the place to make ammo to Rick in Issue 102.
🙂
Dwight never had something click. He was just trying to find the right time to do some sabotage. He couldn’t just start randomly killing people. He was instructing the people he was with until he realized that he could kill them all right there, so he did. I’m telling you, Dwight is fully on Ricks side.
i haven’t read 120 yet, so pick me to win so i can read it
Negan is right any trucks. Heath now needs a prostestic. LEG
OMG I was right! In the 119 discussion, I said, “Expect the unexpected for issue 120…” and BOOM (no pun intended.) Heath’s leg is blown off.
Here are my thoughts regarding the Rick situation. Now keep in mind I am NOT, nor do I claim to be, a psychologist or an expert on the subject and could be way off base but this is just a theory – purely speculation. I think Rick could be suffering from some kind of PTSD from the traumatic events involving him and his family. He says he feels like everyone he gets close to dies, Lori, Judith, Jessie, Ron, not to mention Carl’s penchant for getting shot. He even almost kept himself from being with Andrea because he didn’t want her to die. This could be related to one of the symptoms of PTSD – avoidance. Rick has also exhibited a second symptom of emotional arousal, experiencing outbursts of anger such as when Rick snapped and pulled the gun on Douglas at Alexandria when he thought they were in danger of being kicked out. One could argue that another example is when he snapped and bit out that bandits jugular and then literally took the other offending bandits apart. You could also say that was just his drive to protect his son and only remaining family. The third symptom is re-experiencing, like a flashback. As I said I could be way off base, but it seemed like Rick freaked out when he saw Carl on the ground, much like Lori in the prison assault, picked him up, and ran him to Denise – just like when he was shot during No Way Out. Rick said Carl was burned but Carl insisted that he was unharmed. If he was indeed unharmed then maybe Rick is experiencing some kind of partial flashback to prior events in the wake of yet another traumatizing event. Similar to a war veteran hearing a car backfire, for example, can trigger an emotional and physical response as if that person was back in that traumatic event. This traumatic event could have been a trigger for his PTSD, symptoms can arise months after the initial trauma even years later. Also it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen Rick experience a mental break that melded his previous trauma with his present situation – the phone calls from Lori.
I also forgot to mention – to additionally support the emotional arousal symptom – PTSD can cause difficulty concentrating and clouded judgement and Rick just left Carl with Denise who was BITTEN and said herself that it was too late for her anyway. Yes, Carl has become a badass BUT that still seems a little out of character for Rick to leave his son in danger. Now I’m done haha.
I’d say just about everyone who’s still alive in this setting is suffering from some level of PTSD. 😛
Of course they all would to some degree lol, but I’m saying he was probably experiencing a flashback and then passed out.
Kirkman Damn you! Heath has 2 legs on the cover of issue 122, way to trick us you sly bastard!
Believe in Jesus! That was sick when he threw that grenade back.over the wall. I think Dwight is just playing both sides of the fence so he stays alive when all is said and done.
Love how Negan gets pissed off when the one guy says he is “full boner” Negan doesn’t like yes men that’s for sure!
I really hope someone kills Denise before she eats Carl’s other eye, she doesn’t have much time left before she turns..
The dude Jesus is on that Modern Warfare 4 level!!!
Throwing grenades back and shit!!!!
RIP T-DOG

You Know what. Negan is a character man. Even though he is a psypcho he is drop dead hilarious. Woody Harrelson should play him in the T.V. series that would be totally great. Love TWD ALL DAY
Im actually really upset with the end where they look back at the smoke coming off there camp.. I just want Rick and the gang for once to have somewhere and be able to live there in peace. But then again.. i do love Negan! :3
Thanks Brian and Lizzy. I didn’t think I had much of a chance at winning because of some of the other great comments posted. I’ll be looking forward to your email
and I can’t wait to see what happens to Negan…..This comment is from my Mom- “I can see the future, you want to know what happens to Negan? Easy, Maggie is
going to use Lucille as a rectal thermometer.”
Yeah, you can see that my Mom cannot stand Negan, and it isn’t because of his Popsicle dick. LOL
Congratulations my friend
maggie maggie……..
I’m glad Glen is dead…
Pretty much give up on TWD comic, never really cared for the TV show. After Kirkman killed off Glenn there wasn’t much reason to read it anymore. After all if it wasn’t for Glenn there would be no Rick or Walking Dead at all. Glad everyone else enjoys it tho. If I hear that Rick is dead I will probably come back and see what it has to offer; that is if it is still around.
my mind has been all over the place trying to figure out what kirkman’s next move is, and we’ve finally been able to sum it up in one word- damn.
I absolutely loved the #120.Turning a hostage into trojan horse and throwing grenades,so cool man!I like Negan because even if he is a violent objectophiliac he is very smart and unpredictable and has some code about not raping and keeping his crew in line.I keep thinking that there was a balance between Negan and his Saviors who were cleaning the undead and keeping them away from storming the camps, and the camp people were paying him for his protection. So i think Rick disturbed that balance and nothing good is gonna come after this war,who ever wins its gonna be weak to defend himself against the walkers.A lot of people from both sides got killed and turned and Ricks camp got torched so even if he wins is not much. And pls consider Vince Vaughn for Negan,he was born for that role.I know is not really possible but doesn’t hurt to ask.
