It’s part three of All Out War! Holly plays it cool which will hopefully, maybe work out for her. We finally see Shiva gnaw on some zombie flesh and learn that it doesn’t hurt her, making her the world’s best zombie apocalypse pet. We see Rick’s strategy actually work out really well (that can’t possibly last). We see more of Negan’s bizarre morality. And Rick and Ezekiel split up to take out the Saviors’ outposts.
I almost can’t even imagine what Negan has planned for Holly. What do you guys think?
Things went well for Rick this issue. How long is that going to last?
Thoughts on All Out War now that we’re three issues in? I don’t think Robert’s letting up on the gas any time soon…
Nagan just considers himself judge, jury, and executioner for his little section of humanity. It isn’t that weird historically for people to punish wrongdoers with death or banishment when they are in small groups that depend on every person behaving in a manner that follows the rules.
Negan killed him for this reason: Holly will think Negan protects her and will have a good image of him, so she will be on Negan’s side and reveals Rick’s plans
That definitely could be true . I’m glad he saved her from being assaulted no matter what his plans are though.
Interesting!
Negan will manipulate Holly in order to have agood image to her and to force her reveal the plans of Rick.
I’m going to be really sad when Negan dies. Yes, he’s foul-mouthed, but he’s easily one of the best villains ever created in comics, and certainly among my favorites.
He’s definitely a ‘bad guy,’ but he’s got the sort of ethics and rules that make him seem like he wants to be good.
He’s twisted and just downright nutso, but he’s also got a very clear reason for everything he does and, really, it’s about making the world the sort of place that is safe again for people (just, you know, people that he controls through fear and subjugation).
In some ways, he’s exactly what Rick could’ve been if he’d been a ego-driven megalomaniac who took over leadership of a group instead of the reluctant guy who kept having leadership thrust upon him.
It’s like he’s the bat-wielding Joker to Rick’s one-handed Batman.
+1 awesome post . I completely agree with you he’s one of my favorites also .

I hope it will be Carl who kills Negan. Not the walkers getting him, not one of his own killing him (like The Governor had coming), not Shiva eating him up. While I do enjoy Negan more and more with each issue, his days are numbered.
But I feel like Rick killing Negan is obvious, and honestly I thought The Governor had a kind of a lame death.
But if Carl were to capture an injured Negan and (after Negan did something to really tick Carl off), he tortures him brutally (perhaps taking it after what Michonne had done to The Governor) and eventually kills him, and Rick then comes across the scene and sees what his son has turned into.
I personally am interested in Kirkman exploring that whole ‘serial killer Carl’ idea that Negan kept going on about when he was holding Carl. It could be sort of a foreshadowing if Carl truly did go down this path. I mean, the kid’s a fucking mess on so many levels.
I would love to see Carl take out Negan! After a 12 issue “All out War” I am sure that it will be one of the best villain kills yet!
Yeah. Also, in the latest Talking Dead, Robert Kirkman said that he realized killing The Governor off anti-climatically wasn’t the best choice so it’s good to know he’s learned from that.
Hopefully this indeed means that Negan will have one heck of a send-off
Sad? I love to hate Negan, but look forward to his brutal death…Glenn…just can’t get over that one. I hope Lucille kills Negan 😉 😀
So far Rick’s group seems to be winning the fight. But there is always a plot twist when it comes to groups at war. Something big is going to happen, and it may possibly cripple Rick’s group. Of course Negan will die, but it will be an epic death, unlike The Governor.
Rick and his groups seem to differ from the other people we see in the comic because he/they don’t enjoy torture, and they don’t rape. Negan seems to love torture, but the saving of Holly does seem odd. If he wanted to get on Holly’s good side, why would he divulge his plan of wanting to stay in good favor (as he did right before slitting that guy’s throat)? Of course, Negan finding ethics without another purpose does seem out of character, unless he is smarter and more strategic than he seems. Perhaps he is just so harsh because he knows thats what needs to be done to survive and keep his group intact. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/thewalkingdead.com
I was surprised by the way Negan acted when he saw what was about to happen to Holly. Good surprised and bad surprised. I love to hate Negan, especially after what he did to Glen. Ever since then, he has been the most epic villain ever in my book. The way he saved Holly from being raped makes me think that maybe he isn’t all bad.
I know there is going to be a twist. My theory: Jesus is the actual leader of the Saviors and Negan is just a 2nd in command lackey. It makes sense… “Jesus”… “Saviors”… That would be a pretty epic twist…
While this thought has lingered in the back of my mind, how would the Saviors still follow him when he’s killed some of their group? Or HAS he?
I gotta go back and re-read. Does he just give them a good ass whuppin, or do we have evidence of him actually killing Saviors?
Great theory, nonetheless!
Even if he has killed some of the saviors… if he does turn out to be their leader he is obviously extremely diabolical. I wouldn’t put it past this theoretical Jesus villain to kill some of his own. This could also potentially explain the alliance between the saviors and hilltop in issue #115. It probably won’t play out that way, but it would be a hell of a twist.
MOTHER FUCKING DICK SUCK CUNT FUCKING FUCK FUCKITY FUCK FUCKER FUCKING FUCK FUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Damn that was a good read.
Fuck. 🙂
After the Governor story arc came to a close I was worried I’d lose interest in the comic because the Governor was awesome. Who would’ve thought his successor would’ve been such a hit? Whether he survives this volume or not Negan will easily go down as one of the most charismatic and talked about characters in the series.
I can’t tear my eyes off the page whenever he’s on it. He reminds me of a hyper-intelligent version of Sin City’s Marv and the humorous monologue given about him;
“Marv just had the rotten luck of being born in the wrong century. Where he really belongs is on an ancient battlefield swingin an axe into somebody’s face. Or in the Colosseum holdin a sword with the other gladiators.”
THATS Negan. Before maybe a usual biker burnout punk and now a God. Hope Kirkman gives us some of his backstory at some stage.
Great issue, love Mark and Dwight standing beside each other with their burnt faces, always wondered did Mark survive that or not. What’s going to happen to the treetop clan if this finishes in Rick’s favor? They have to kick Gregory’s ass.
So bizarre to see the Saviors under pressure for once, they’ve been the big swingin mickey round these parts for so long I forgot they’re not invulnerable against the walkers. More of Negan’s wives please.
I really love how Negan has such a profound understanding of the human condition with the way he speaks out situations. It is as if being a man is some sort of science project for him. Kirkman really is the man. I truly believe we are looking at the Devil incarnate. If so…he is simply the master of deception, and NOONE is safe, especially Holly. Dude has a trick up his sleeve, always. I’m freaking with every issue at this point…
I love the irony of Negan saying “We aren’t monsters” right after murdering someone.
Yeah I almost choked… I was like “really?! after everything you have done and you are not a monster? ha!”
I keep questioning myself what will happen after theis arc, will alexendria be destroyed, will we meet new characters, where will the group go !! I LOVE THIS COMIC (i’d like to see a BEAR, yes a bear later in the comics, i know i’m insane , it will be so awesome with shiva.
Personally while waiting for All out War to be epic, I find myself disappointed to a extent. I want to see the “War” in All out War not a bunch of talking. I know it builds the story but this has been talked about since Negan introduced Lucille to Glenn.
The fastest way to a man’s heart is through his vagina…. Classic Negan, and a great way to start off yet another kickass All Out War issue. Will Holly’s rage against Dwight be the ultimate downfall for Rick? Seems like she’s just in it for her own revenge.
