Here’s what the critics think of The Walking Dead #109.
CBR: “…the ending has me itching for the next issue like only the best kind of comics can. It’s great when creators can remind you to take nothing for granted… It is particularly refreshing to see that not only 10 years in, but several years into a hit television show, the magic of “The Walking Dead” comic book is still there.” 4/5
IGN: “The regular cast take a backseat in The Walking Dead #109, and that’s just fine.” 8.3/10
Cosmic Book News: “Kirkman’s pacing is top notch on this issue, giving the reader glimpses into possible future outcomes as well as making a well deserved look at the internal workings of key characters. It may not be flooded with walkers nor be riddled with flying bullets, but it is a well built story that paves the way for both of those things to come. So, enjoy the relaxation for the moment because the cringing ending guarantees that it will not last for long!”
Comic Bastards: “It’s all very commendable and well done. The Walking Dead is so popular for a reason, and this is a solid issue.” 4/5
The Weekly Crisis: “I hope the pacing doesn’t throw off the singles readers and I’m sure in trade form this issue will whip right by because, guess what? Kirkman gives you another cliffhanger. KIIIIIRRRKMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!” “Must Read”
Fantastic Issue!!
Such an amazing issue!!!
Brian any chance you could tell me if the blank variant was released in the u.s only?
This issue was amazing and the build-up to it has made me an absolute die hard fan. I simply don’t know if I can wait until June for the next issue. Give us more,AND SOONER! Needs my zombie fix! Darren Shan’s Zom-b books just don’t cut it and aren’t as cut-throat as the walking dead.
