As this arc starts building, let’s do a quick recap of what’s been happening so far:
When last we left The Walking Dead, Michonne arrived on a ship after spending a considerable amount of time at sea. Ezekiel showed up, Claudette apologized, and Maggie declared that Gregory might have to be executed. As for Carl Grimes (!!!!!!!!!!), the teenage rebel is still trudging after the Whisperers, who seem oddly relaxed about him tagging along–in fact, they lead him straight to their camp. Back at Alexandria, in the makeshift jail-basement that Negan calls home, Olivia (purposefully?) leaves his cell unlocked and Negan’s door swings open! What!?
With so many interesting things going on right now in the comic, Zach Herrera—who helps manage our Facebook page—came up with a few questions for y’all to discuss in the lead up to Wednesday:
1. What does Alpha have planned for Carl now that they reached the Whisperer Camp?
2. Will we find out why Michonne left everyone behind?
3. Will Gregory really be executed? If so, by whom?
4. Was Claudette telling Maggie the truth? Or was she and the rest of the disgruntled parents on board to kill Maggie?
5. Will Negan be sticking around for the fair?
Comment below and let us know your answers to the questions above!
I have an unrealistic feeling, that Negan is somehow going to save the group from the Whisperer’s somehow, but because I thought of this, that must mean it won’t happen, since Kirkman is always on top of this stuff.
Even better, that would literally make Negan a Savior!
Yes. Robert Kirkman always does the opposite of what we’re expecting or he does something no one ever thought of
Ha, Kirkman us giving us Negans escape way too easy. I still think that’s a distraction from something else crazy to come! Possibly soon!!
1. I think Carl will be tolerated by the Whisperers until he stirs up shit over the primitive way they survive, particularly the mating customs. Right when the dust is heavy, maybe that’s when our survivors enter the picture & the trouble is twofold.
2. Michonne is dealing with her demons. She left for assurance that she didn’t leave anyone behind & that it’s OK for her to live rather peacefully if she can only confirm that. At least that’s what I got out of it. I need more story with her.
3. Gregory won’t be executed by any of our survivors. That just seems too easy to me. Maybe he becomes exiled. Maybe he meets up with Negan on the loose.
4. I think Claudette was being truthful. She sounded pretty sincere to me. Maybe later actions/decisions will cause this group to rise up again. I’m thinking that Sophia could enter the picture in a larger way & it will concern the Hilltop residents.
5. Negan will be the Main Event at the fair. I’m counting on it!
1. I think she will use this as an opportunity to learn about Carl’s people. She likely won’t have any problem with them being in a relationship, at least i’d guess but what with the whisperers strange mating and living habits, I can see there being some sort of derision out of those events. I think Carl will convince Lydia to return with him. Sparking some sort of conflict. What should be said though is. Don’t the whisperers kind of resemble Native Americans at this point of the story whereas Rick and his allies are like the mad industrial tyrants invading their lands.
2. No. I think she left because she’s got too much to think about if she’s not doing anything.
3. Yes, I don’t think Maggie will be able to do it though and Gregory will instead be executed by Dante.
4. Ofc they were but their plan was foiled by Gregory’s incompetence. They lost out and were found out. They’re lucky they aren’t being locked up.
5. You mean Vegeta right? because that’s what he is now right? The Tritagonist. Rick Carl and Negan. Goku, Gohan and Vegeta. I can see it all so clearly Kirkman. Throw in the right circumstances and boom! they’re fighting alongside one another. Throw in some development and Negan becomes the most liked character in the book. It’s fantastic. So, yes I think he will stick around, I also think he’ll be used as a device to introduce Rick to the whisperers to Rick. Not in person but information wise because I think he got that scar he mentioned in the bath from a whisperer.
love the DBZ reference, and I think that would be really cool if it were to happen.
Michonne left when she had a breakdown caused by the survivor guilt of being happy when she hadn’t been able to save her daughters… That would sure as heck make me leave.
What Is the Possibility, That We get Blindsided, And Andrea Is Killed By Negan, to Make Rick Suffer like he Wanted To When He thought Holly Was Rick’s Lady? That would be a Major “O Shit!!” Moment….
and it Would Open A whole New Door for Rick And Carl, if Carl ever makes it Back…
