Come one, come one one one (see what we did there?), let’s discuss INVINCIBLE #111.
As an extra incentive, our favorite comment (as selected by Brian and Lizzy) will win a Limited Edition Hardcover Compendium #1 of Invincible, signed by Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, and Cory Walker.
What was the most shocking moment for you? What’s going to happen next? Did you have any earth-shattering revelations while reading #111? Let us know in the comments!
I'd comment about the issue, but Robot told me to shut up, and I feel like I should probably listen.
Outstanding issue, never saw the first twist coming and the second was just shocking, can't wait to see how Mark resolves this!
of course he's not in there.
AAAAND I posted to Facebook…here we go! Can I just say that there were three WTF moments that I'm still reeling from? I mean…WOW!! And I USUALLY question deaths in comics but this…man. No question about it!! Especially since the original Guardians Of The Globe incident way back in issue 7.
This issue was amazing! Complete game changer when a lot of comics claim to be game changers but don't follow through. The violence was shocking but not gratuitous and there is actually something to be said about *****'s point of view. This was the first time I have actually gasped out loud reading a comic book, and I can't wait for the next issue. Superb storytelling!
Invincible #111 had some much carnage and slaughter to such an extent that it seemed borderline absurd…..
It was excellent!
I knew Cecil would have to be one of the first to go because he would be a threat to Robot but was really sad to see that awesome scarred old man bite it. RIP Cecil. And here's hoping for future Robo-Cop Eve.
The raping scene was a game changer for me. It was well writen but still, emotionally hard to read. Unfortunatelly, that shit happens in the real world too. More awareness the better! 2 thumbs up for your courage to write it into a comic.
Robot seems to be a very good pers… oh, wait! fuck… FUCK AGAIN!
Well… I think Robot is the supreme motherfucker in only one issue. WELL DONE
The suit only needs Lucille from TWD to be complete
#112… i need you
I cannot believe Mark didn't prepare for that inner ear thing somehow.
To Darren Hollander: RIGHT?! The story telling is getting BEYOND crazy good at this point!!! They did show that he had that issue way back. Crazy how it paid off 🙂
This issue was incredible, obviously. I loved how everyone was left completely hopeless. The Viltrumites are nearly powerless compared to Robot's ridiculous new metal alloy, the Guardians are left without a leader, and Eve… I'd say the highlight of the issue was Eve's leg being torn from her body. Oh god, I had to put the issue down for a little bit and catch my breath. I hope the baby is fine…
Robot definitely got a leg up on Mark this issue
Invincible #111 was so intense that I feel I should call off from work today to mourn. But alas, I cannot. I need to make money to buy more Invincible comics.
I never read invincible and probably never will unless I win this compendium
Hey Zach – Check out my offer to try out over half of the issues for free:

Robot curb stomped Cecil and peg legged Eve !
Wow, that two major violent bits were completely unexpected and huge! So, I'm wondering if this means that Invincible will have to ask for help from Anissa?! Also, I would think that if Eve can tough it through the leg… issues… until the baby, she could just *make* another one? Ugh, I love this book.
The Invincible crew have done it again, also congrats to Ryan Ottley on his 100th issue! So many things to think about lets get into it; first off Eve and Mark's baby is dead. The panel of Eve getting thrown off the couch and landing on her stomach plus using her powers. Theres no way around it. Second just how many suit does Robot have and how many can he control at once? In the panel of him in moon it looked like he had an army of them, something to think about. Will they all have the "inner ear sound hurting" mechanic too? With all the damage Mark has gotten from Cecil and Robot I'm surprised he can still hear. Also will Mark and Eve cancel the divorce? If so, then the vultrium woman coming back pregnant will be a big concern in that. Probably something to come later like how Kirkman has done his best. All in all this was a great issue and leading to be the best arc so far! Can't wait to see what comes next.I have a lot theories running in my head but they could be wrong. The thing to take the most away this was said best by Robot "Oh well. Let the slaughter begin"
Oh and one more thing! Omni-Man all die!!!! On the cover of 111 you see Cecil with his eyes bashed and he is now dead. You also see Omni-Man's eyes also bashed in! Something to think about, Thanks!
Damn, it was awesome. Loving it so far. Also really digging Robot's new armor(viltrumite buster armor).
I wish the walking deads Robert Kirkman wrote my life
Robot is mostly cold and speaks only logically, as he said so himself in this very issue. Although, one can almost sense resentment when he asks Mark to trust him as he trusted Dinosaurus, showing the deep respect that he has for him. Brilliant.
My revelation form issue 111 is that it doesn't matter if your prego… Your leg could still get ripped the eff off and you could become a one legged mother! Come on pick me! I was blunt as heck!!
I can't remember the last time I felt so shocked while reading a comic book. Was it *SPOILER ALERT* Cecil being mercilessly stomped to death, or was it Robot pulling Eve's leg off, or the way he nonchalantly said "Let the slaughter begin…"? Oh, and his face, OMG it's just like everyday business for him (he probably did a lot of this in the Flaxan dimension, so yeah.)
Well, Eve will probably be alright, considering she repaired herself quite well after Conquest impaled her, though the trauma might not be enough to trigger her ability to control organic materials. One thing to look forward to. I'm also looking forward to see if the baby comes with Viltrumite and Eve's powers, if, y'know, Robot doesn't kill everyone by that time already.
Oh, and Robot's (I still can't call Robot Rex, don't know why) army of robots(heheheh)! I think somehow, Robot will be stopped, since the future where Immortal rules is when Mark leaves him in charge, so this will definitely be very interesting.
So much things happening, and the next issue cannot come out sooner. C'mon, guys! Also, when's the next omnibus coming out? I've read the current two, like, 4 times over.
P.S. I wonder how Oliver is doing.
Nothing really shocked me in this issue. I'm lost count how many times we've seen someone's head pop like a grape. Dismemberment is nothing new either.
I might have been shocked if there managed to be an entire arc where someone WASN'T brutally murdered.
Congrats on leading the way on gore in a superhero comic I guess. What the comic seems to want to be known for.
My earth shattering revelation…my god one one one is out already…where have I been? Three things on my bucket list now 1. Get caught up on Invincible (issue 90 last one I got before we had our twins) 2. Once my twins are old enough introduce them to Invincible best superhero comic ever written! Period! 3. Get sketch from Ryan Ottley! Amazed by every panel he draws!
When Robot tell Atom Eve to Shut Up after he rip her legs off it seems he has a grudge against women when Monster Girl cheated on him.
Robert Kirkman said betrayal is a theme in Invincible like from Omni-Man, Dinosaurus, and this time Robot. Will Robert Kirkman show future issues when Robot finally realize he was wrong like Omni-Man, and Dinosaurus? Will he die for his crime like Dinosaurus, God I hope not. I hope Robot's like Omni-Man and tries to become a hero again. I mean Robot is like my favorite character.
What was the most shocking moment for you?
Really? YOU KNOW THIS ANSWER!!! 🙂
What's going to happen next?
I wait till #112 comes out!
Did you have any earth-shattering revelations while reading #111?
How awesome it would be to finally win something signed by Kirkman!
Phew… Every hit has hurt me. I never thought that Robot could be so destructive and confront to Invincible. This issue is a clear revelation: TWD's Kirkman has come to stay.
I'm wishing to see how it continues, and to check if the Eve's arm is going to grow up like a lizart.
I HAD to review the book again last night. So my buddy put it on his site. I'm still at a loss for Cecil. And as I said in my review "That’s two father figures you took from me this year Mr. Kirkman (Hershel). But I will live on knowing that their deaths have helped develop the stories in which they have taken part of."
such terror. much violence. many mayhem. very horror. so misery. wow
111 issues and this is the 1st I have bought…wow, what took so long? I admit, I was hooked on the big guys and only read the "little guys" trades through my library, but in the past couple years I have moved away from the established and into more and more creator owned books. What's the end result? I love comics more now then ever! 6 years ago Robert issued a call to arms for top tier talent to move into the creator owned realm, and it looks like quite a few listened. Thank you for creating awesome titles like The Walking Dead and Invincible. Invincible is in my pull box from here on out!
"A comic industry where there are more original comics, so there's more new ideas, more creator-owned books by totally awesome guys that are selling a ton of books." – Robert Kirkman.
I think we're getting there!
I really liked Cecil's death. That was a shocking moment. Didn't see it coming and his death was brutal and quick. Really helps to establish Robot even more as THE top villain of the series.
I really liked Invincible fighting through the pain of the "high pitched tone attack" of Robot. It was cool to see the "willpower" of Invincible fighting through the pain. Reminded me of the classic Spider-Man moment in ASM 33. Fighting through excruciating pain to save a loved one.
Invincible trying to save Eve, and her not wanting to use her powers because of the baby was great stuff. I thought Robot attacking Eve because she's Invincible's true weakness, was predictable but was done well. However, Eve's injuries didn't shock/worry me. After she gives birth to the baby she'll be able to heal herself like she did in issue 64 after Conquest gutted her. So I don't see her injuries as permanent. Kirkman has a "get out of jail free" card to heal Eve. It would have shocked me if she died.
This book has been awesome and it's about time it won an Eisner! At the very least, Ottley deserves to be recognized.
