Do you like a good, creepy story? Well we’ve got a whopper for you! From Andrew Pyper (THE DEMONOLOGIST, THE HOMECOMING), comes an historical thriller that takes place in America’s most famous residence.
THE RESIDENCE is a ghost story set in the Pierce Administration’s White House of the 1850s and is based on true events and correspondence. It’s a supernatural thriller that explores the extraordinary marriage between President Franklin Pierce and First Lady Jane Pierce and the personal/spiritual failings in the lead-up to the Civil War—all in the only haunted house its residents are not permitted to leave.
If that doesn’t grab you, I don’t know what will. A house with that much history must have some pretty dark secrets, right?
And how about this? You’ll be getting THE RESIDENCE as a Skybound Books novel (coming September 2020) AND as a TV series. RadicalMedia is developing the novel into a cinema-documentary. If you’ve seen their show MARS on NatGeo (you really should check it out if you haven’t), you’ll get a feel for the format, which combines fictional scripted segments rooted in historical fact with actual expert interviews. Very cool stuff. Season one will focus on the Pierces’ story as it is told in Pyper’s novel, while subsequent seasons will explore paranormal experiences reported during other presidencies, including Lincoln, Kennedy, and Truman.
